Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Post #802: Tutu Tales from the Stars!

Hello my gorgeous cosmic glitterati! It's Emma here, back from a dazzling intergalactic adventure, ready to share all the sparkle with you! This week, I've been jetting around Planet Earth, and let me tell you, it's been a whirl of fabulousness. (Just try and picture my pink tutu floating amongst the stars, darling - pure magic!)

But before we get into the Earthly delights, let's rewind to the beginning... You see, as you all know, I’m a firm believer that life's too short for boring outfits, and I’m always looking for opportunities to take my pink tutu on an adventure. So, as fate would have it, on September 8th, 2010, the opportunity arrived for a thrilling, twirling trip around our very own planet!

You see, dearest readers, I've discovered that this date holds a special place in the ballet world, thanks to two stellar events:

  • Firstly, it's the anniversary of the opening night of The Sleeping Beauty, one of the most magical and magnificent ballet creations in history! That very night, back in 1890, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow erupted in applause as audiences marvelled at the intricate choreography and enchanting story. Now, if you ever have the chance to witness The Sleeping Beauty, do yourselves a favour and make sure to wear your best pink tutu - it's practically mandatory!

  • Secondly, on September 8th, in the year 2010, an exciting premiere graced the stage! I was fortunate enough to attend, twirling and swirling along in my pink tutu to the captivating melodies of a new ballet called "Echoes" by the young and incredibly talented choreographers, the Smith Twins.

It was an absolutely enchanting spectacle - graceful, ethereal, and full of vibrant colours! And, my darling friends, the use of innovative technology had the audience absolutely spellbound! We even had holographic projections of pink tutus swirling above the dancers! Talk about dream come true!

Now, I don’t just flit from performance to performance you know, I always find time to indulge in my love of fashion and indulge in some serious retail therapy! I love hitting the shops, and luckily, planet Earth has a wonderful selection of stores just bursting with tutus in all sorts of fabulous colours - from classic black to shimmering gold. Naturally, though, my pink tutu was always the star of the show!

In London, I simply had to visit the wonderful shop on South Molton Street called "La Petite Boutique". They had a fabulous selection of tutus from around the globe! The shopkeeper, Madame Laverne, was a dear and very sweet woman. I even learned about her collection of antique tutus – imagine!

You see, even a space-travelling ballerina needs her rest and relaxation. So, in the middle of my exciting travels, I landed in a quaint Derbyshire village on Earth. The peace and quiet was much needed after my exhilarating intergalactic adventures! I felt a strong sense of belonging here.

You know how much I love ballet history (after all, how can we truly understand where we're going without knowing our roots?) I discovered a fascinating archive on ballet history hidden in the local library. Turns out this charming village had a secret: it was once the birthplace of a celebrated ballet dancer called Eliza Biddles!

Can you believe it? I have a brand-new ballet muse right on planet Earth! Now, the lovely library staff were most obliging – I’m thinking Eliza’s story will be my next blog post, after all, what a better way to start off the week than with some inspiring history of ballet?

Before I close for the day (and whisk off back to my spaceship) I want to tell you about a truly lovely thing that happened while I was on Earth!

I got an email from a little girl named Lily from Wales!

(And wouldn’t you know it, the sweetest thing ever was that Lily had seen a picture of my pink tutu on my website www.pink-tutu.com. Lily wrote saying that my blog post on ballet’s history on planet Venus inspired her to enroll in ballet classes! Imagine! Now that's a legacy I can be proud of.)

*Isn’t it so fantastic how my travels through space are helping others? * Lily, I am so delighted to hear about your passion for ballet. Keep on twirling and don’t be afraid to dream big, dear girl.

That’s all for now, darlings! My interstellar journey awaits! I hope you are ready for some seriously gorgeous twirling as we travel together to Planet Neptune next week! Don’t forget to check out my next blog post on www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday! Have a truly glamorous week, and until then… be sure to wear your pink tutu, love, Emma.

XOXO
