Hello darlings!
It's Emma, your cosmically-clad ballet blogger, coming to you live from Planet Earth. My, oh my, what an absolutely delightful week it has been! Just imagine this - space-age tutus shimmering under the constellations, dazzling intergalactic performances, and the thrill of landing on a brand new planet, oh so eager to embrace the tutu-fied lifestyle.
This week, my interstellar travels led me to⌠wait for it⌠Saturn's Rings! * That's right, ladies! I shimmied and twirled amongst those stunning celestial hoops, which, let me tell you, made a phenomenal backdrop for my new galaxy-themed leotard! (And you just *know my tutus were spectacular, with iridescent sequins that caught the sunlight reflecting off the rings. Oh, I did think of you all while dancing among the cosmic dust! My, I thought, I just wish they could see how fabulous this looks from down there. (Did I mention I have an entirely new line of space-themed tutus coming out very soon?)
My trip began as always, aboard the good olâ Pink Comet. Yes, dear readers, you heard correctly, a spaceship custom designed with blush pink livery and glittering crystals, of course. It's a sight to behold as it streaks across the galaxy! It wouldn't be an intergalactic travel diary without mentioning the outfit, right? My bespoke outfit for this week's galactic jaunt: a hand-beaded white tulle tutu (you know, just a touch of drama!), with silver cosmic accents, paired with a shocking pink, figure-hugging, custom-made leotard featuring the image of my personal mascot - my fluffy little pink Pomeranian, Stardust! (Honestly, don't we all wish our pets could come along on our intergalactic voyages?) Topped it off with sparkling silver ballerina flats with just the tiniest hint of pink, of course. Always got to bring a bit of colour to space, don't you think?
After an absolutely divine eleven hour journey, I landed in the Cosmic Carousel, Saturn's most fashionable and glitzy spaceport! Honestly, it looked like the Millennium Falcon had gone on a girls' night out and bought all the latest holographic fashions, which, let me tell you, was something to behold! Itâs amazing how much fashion-conscious the aliens on other planets can be. Youâd be surprised what we can learn from each otherâs fashion sensibilities. Even the Galactic Intergalactic Intertemporal Style Society, with its reputation for stuffy fashion norms and serious attitudes to aesthetics, relaxed their fashion rules ever so slightly once they saw my Pink Comet spaceship, and letâs face it, you canât deny a certain panache that emanates from me. Theyâre just waiting for the inevitable day when theyâll need to embrace tutus for all of their major intergalactic functions, but theyâre resisting like some silly boys resisting that second slice of cake! So anyway, it all worked out in the end, darling. You should see my wardrobe right now. You just wouldnât believe whatâs in it! And youâre only going to get the inside track on what it looks like by subscribing to my channel right here and right now!
It was pure joy to step out into the cosmic port and see my own cosmic-inspired Pink Comet emblazoned across the sky. There were space shuttles with the very best alien bling and their own version of âdesigner spacewearâ and their drivers - very serious looking creatures (although you just knew underneath they were positively bubbling with delight). A true testament to how, across the universe, fashion brings everyone together.
You won't believe the amazing shops and stores, darling! Glittering fabrics, shimmering beads, out-of-this-world footwear (with shoes to suit the most discerning fashionistas) ... my shopping spree lasted for hours! But, my love for my blog, my travels and the tutus has brought me to a place of such amazing growth and you know I need to get back to planet Earth soon. I know this might surprise you all, but this pink tutu wearing gal loves the planet we call home too. She may adore exploring other planets, discovering new and amazing things but this little English Rose (or rather this cosmic pink one!) adores coming home to her Derbyshire garden and walking with her family. But thatâs a story for another blog, darlings. Right now Iâm off to enjoy some heavenly English Breakfast tea before packing for my return trip!
Talking of English things⌠While I was on Saturn, I came across a wonderful collection of art in the âSpace Opera Houseâ, and you wonât believe who was performing this week. Yes, the ballet that inspired me to get on my Pink Comet to begin with⌠Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake! I felt my soul alight when those swans swirled across the stage! Honestly, those dancers were something special - graceful and majestic with every move! (My dear old Mum says Swan Lake was her favourite show growing up - just imagine that kind of ballet in space!! But donât worry, you donât have to imagine it any more. Now youâre a part of it! Just like me! Now come on⌠are we ready for a dance-a-thon on Saturn!
Just wait until I tell you about the grand reception. Let's just say, I left Saturn with a whole fleet of new tutu-wearing friends and my collection of Cosmic Pink tutus grew a hundred fold! It is truly amazing to see how other planets are adapting to tutus!
I canât leave this week without mentioning what an absolute joy it was to find Pink Ballet, the very first ballet shoe shop on Saturn. How lucky are we to have them out in the galaxy, spreading joy to every alien soul, every space shuttle, and every planetary creature that crosses their doors. You just know I did a bit of a pirouette right into that shop! Oh darling, youâve never seen so many shiny, glittery tutus before. Oh, and did I tell you about the amazing line of intergalactic âCosmic Dancewearâ? If youâre out here reading, Pink Ballet you need to become my sponsor because if there is anything Iâm truly committed to is spreading this divine little bit of fashion history. Honestly, imagine what life could be like in a tutu-wearing universe, where tutus become our universal language, conveying happiness and friendship for all species? A tutu could actually end wars!
Now, before I hop onto the Pink Comet, a little announcement from your favourite intergalactic traveller. To those on Planet Earth - my beloved friends and fans - thereâs a special treat in store! The very first âTutu-topia Fashion Weekâ on Planet Earth, at the Royal Albert Hall, on Friday, October 29th. Thatâs right! A festival of pink! We will have tutu shows with incredible fashion houses, and dancers who truly love the pink! The colour of fun! The colour of dreams! The colour of tutus! Be ready to see this event live streamed on www.pink-tutu.com and watch your dreams come true through the lens of the tutu. And now, I need to grab that last little croissant and start my countdown.
Have a truly blissful week, my darlings, and don't forget -
The world needs more tutus. The galaxy needs more tutus. Letâs dance!
Lots of love,
Emma xoxo
Post Script!Hey lovelies!
Just realised how important it is to connect with my own world and give a special nod to those who are the heartbeat of it all - all the amazing artists on Planet Earth and to those who are truly living this dream every single day.
Tonight, I went to a fantastic show of Cinderella, performed by my local dance school. It really took me back to my younger days and filled my heart with all kinds of inspiration. (So many childhood memories). The ballet students had been practising so hard. Honestly, if you have young children and they love ballet and dancing and maybe even a little sparkle, let them get into it - thatâs the way to truly get on that wonderful road to ballet dreams.
And I know my readers all love a little history - thatâs why this pink tutu lover shares it with you every single week! So - what was trending this week on Planet Earth⌠letâs start with a bit of history - on 22nd September 2010, The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci was back on display in Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, after 16 months of renovation and restoration.
Oh! What a week. This is truly your gal living her best life! Donât forget to catch my show next week when I share Tutu-topia news!
