Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth – Blog Post #810

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! I hope you're all doing fabulously.

This week has been SO exciting! It’s almost unbelievable. You’ll never guess where I am. Yes, that's right! You’re looking at your favourite tutu-wearing intergalactic traveller right here on Planet Earth!

And it’s such a joyous occasion – I'm in my beloved Derbyshire, England, back in my family home. I must admit, even though I'm an international star, a galaxy-famous ballerina, and all-round style icon – nothing beats the good old English countryside, eh?

After all my exciting cosmic journeys, it's lovely to be back in the land of my birth, catching up with family, friends, and indulging in a bit of
shall we say, delectable comfort food!

And, of course, no trip home is complete without a little tutu shopping, wouldn’t you agree?

Let’s have a Pinktastic peek into what’s been going on in my world this week, shall we?

Back to the Roots

First things first - ballet, my one true love! As soon as I landed, I scurried down to my old dance studio, "The Dancing Daisies", for a little reminiscing, you could say! I felt like a giddy child all over again - slipping into my favourite pink leotard and warming up in that familiar studio, surrounded by the smells of old wooden floors and lavender sachets. The memories came flooding back! Remember when I was little, darling, and dreamt of becoming a professional ballerina? Back then, a tutu on the planet Earth was just a tutu. Not the global statement it is today! But the power of that fabric and those feathers never ceased to amaze me!

Oh, how I wish my 10-year-old self could see me now, with my interstellar stardust-covered pink tutu and the whole galaxy adoring my dance moves!

Well, back to this trip, I simply couldn't resist taking a class with my old teacher, Miss Featherstone. Honestly, darling, I must admit - it was like trying to dance after years of being encased in concrete! But Miss Featherstone’s kindly smile put me at ease. We laughed a lot. My old legs simply weren't used to pointe work! There was a bit of a commotion when one of the younger girls tripped over my fabulous silver diamante slippers! But, my dears, isn’t that what ballet is all about? Falling down and getting up again, eh? It was certainly a real learning curve - an amusing experience, and I certainly don't intend to go anywhere near my pointe shoes for at least a fortnight after this escapade!

The Ballet Bug Bites

Oh, my lovelies, what's a trip home without a ballet performance, right? This weekend, I went to watch "Swan Lake" at The Royal Opera House in London! (And what else could I possibly wear but a delightful pink tutu and sparkly shoes, darling?) Let me tell you, the performance was absolutely magnificent!

I must admit, this particular show held very special significance for me, as I was invited on stage after the final act to join the dancers for a bow - such an amazing honor! What a grand affair it was. You’d have been jealous. There was so much glitter and glam! We were all clad in glittering white tutus, which twirled around me as the applause resonated through the theater! You can imagine I was totally thrilled - I felt like a ballerina from my dreams! A star twirling under the glittering chandelier in a tutu made of celestial shimmer and pink velvet

Let's get a little serious here: "Swan Lake" has always been my absolute favourite, and I love its historical significance – all the details – the drama, the plot twists! The entire production captivated me, and the principal ballerina's artistry was astounding. This performance filled me with so much inspiration, reminding me that every move, every jump, every twirl has meaning, darling. I can feel a Pink Tutu World blog post all about The History of Swan Lake and Tutus brewing up inside my imagination already, hmm...

Speaking of history, have you been reading about my recent trip to Paris? I made it just in time for Paris Fashion Week and to visit the beautiful Musée du Costume et du Mode (the Museum of Fashion).

Shopping Therapy and More

But darling, where there's a ballet, there's bound to be some shopping therapy, don’t you agree? And you’re already knowing that nothing satisfies my soul like finding the perfect pink tutu. So of course, I indulged in a delectable shopping spree! This particular visit was extra-special because I finally got to meet a true legend, the incredible Parisian designer Monsieur Duvalier, whose dazzling pink tutu creations have graced the stage of the OpĂ©ra Garnier itself. Isn’t it amazing, my dears, how fashion and ballet blend together to make magic?

We discussed our love of pink, the history of the tutu and his inspirations – he says it's the “joy, the lightness, and the elegance that only pink can represent”! We had a grand afternoon in his fabulous shop! It was literally bursting with the most decadent and sparkling designs. From feather boas the colour of sunrise, to diamond-studded tiaras with the shimmer of a million stars. Oh, it was truly a tutu dreamland, my darlings! Monsieur Duvalier gave me a magnificent, brand-new, handmade, pink tutu as a thank-you gift! Now that is what I call pink power! I’ll make sure you all see photos in a future blog post!

This weekend also marks the beginning of the holiday season in my hometown, and everyone knows the perfect accompaniment to the magical season
that's right, darling – the dazzlingly beautiful world of The Nutcracker! Who doesn't love the sweet ballet, the twinkling lights, the magic and mystery? This year I’m planning to attend the Derby Theatre’s production on Saturday. Do you know, the Derbyshire County Council Ballet Company is really on fire this year?

I'm so excited for the enchanting performance. This ballet has such a nostalgic feel and has to be the ultimate in fairy tale performances, don’t you think? And let me tell you, darlings, it’s a beautiful and exciting event, perfectly accompanied by festive decorations and festive music, as you’ll be able to see in a video blog that’s coming soon. Don't worry, I'll give you a full Pink Tutu World review after the event.

Oh, but here's a little secret. I'll also be attending the spectacular opening night at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London! I hear they are pulling out all the stops this year for the Royal Ballet's performance of "The Nutcracker" - oh, I simply cannot wait to tell you all about it next week.

Now for the latest updates from the Pink Tutu World community

Pink Power Takes Flight: Global Celebrations!

From Planet Earth to the edges of the galaxy, the pink tutu movement continues to spread joy and fabulousness everywhere we go! You know my ultimate aim is for everyone in the universe to embrace the pink tutu! So I was thrilled to see news from the planet Xylosia, where the Pink Tutu Galaxy Ball is now a massive success – an intergalactic party to promote kindness and fun. How utterly magical! They even managed to convince the Emperor of Xylosia himself to don a sparkly, neon pink tutu! (Who said the powers of the pink tutu are limited?!)

It's heartening to see all the exciting things happening in our pink tutu world. It just keeps growing every day! I’m so proud of every single person, no matter their age, size or galactic location, who participates in this celebration of fabulousness and joins in with the spreading of kindness and happiness in pink tutus!

This brings me to something rather special that I must share with you all: a darling little girl named Millie from right here on Planet Earth - I heard about her via my favourite magazine “Tutus For Everyone.” She’s only five years old and has the most wonderful determination. Millie wants to become the first ballet dancer in space! Imagine – tutus floating in weightlessness! This young lady is already making waves on social media for her passion and commitment. Oh, my dears, her little story reminds me that even the tiniest glimmer of hope can be the start of something so powerful! She’s also creating quite a stir amongst our followers at Pink Tutu World, which brings a huge smile to my face! What an inspiration to everyone! And that’s how you start a fashion revolution, right? With kindness, enthusiasm, and a good helping of Pink Tutu power!

The pink power is truly contagious – I love that so many of you are starting your own Pink Tutu journeys! It's all part of my Pink Tutu Mission, and so much fun to be a part of. Don't forget to tag your fabulous Pink Tutu photos using #PinkTutuWorld so I can see them, darlings!

Oh my dears, the Pink Tutu World blog is just bursting at the seams with joyful updates this week.

Now, remember to check back in with me next week, because Pink Tutu World will be back to share all the fabulous details of my experience at the Royal Albert Hall's "Nutcracker." And who knows, maybe I'll even share a little peek at the glamorous new outfits I’ll be wearing, right?

Until then, darlings, remember to twirl with confidence and never be afraid to wear your own version of pink! And most importantly, be kind to yourself, each other, and of course, to all the fantastic tutus out there.

Until next week, Stay fabulous,

Emma xoxo
