Wednesday 22nd December, 2010
Oh, darling tutus, what a fabulous week it's been! As always, Wednesday feels extra special for a pink tutu loving gal like myself. Why, you ask? It's Blog Day, of course! The day I get to share all my sparkly adventures with you lovely lot back on planet Earth. This week, though, my journey took a decidedly extraterrestrial turn, as I danced my way to the far corners of the galaxy! Buckle up, babes, it's a wild ride!
From Derby to the Cosmos: The Rocket's Ready!
Now, you might think "Emma, a tutu-clad space voyager? Doesn't that sound a bit…out there?". Well, darling, believe me, when you see the galaxy's collection of celestial tutus, you'll be wondering how I ever lived without them!
Before setting off, I popped by the theatre for some much-needed ballet practice. Nothing beats a good, old-fashioned pirouette to get you feeling ready for interstellar travel. Afterwards, a trip to the charming village of Ashbourne, just down the road from my lovely Derbyshire home, for some Christmas shopping. There’s just something magical about little village shops this time of year, with the decorations twinkling and the smell of mince pies filling the air. And let's not forget the quintessential pink tutu and feather boa combo – the perfect way to bring a bit of holiday cheer to the shops, darling!
The universe has always been a constant source of fascination for me, ever since I was a little girl. Remember that magical night when I first saw the constellations with Dad, curled up in the garden on a clear summer night? The vastness of the universe, the shimmering galaxies...it’s utterly awe-inspiring. It makes you realise that you can truly do anything you put your mind to. Even space travel, darling! And this time, my latest adventure began at the awe-inspiring Space Centre in Leicester.
We touched down in the middle of the exhibit, surrounded by rows of glittering rockets, gleaming satellites, and space suits that looked straight out of a sci-fi movie. I'm a self-confessed rocket enthusiast (after all, there’s something thrilling about taking off into the unknown!), so this trip had me on the edge of my tulle seat, just bursting with excitement!
Tutus Across the Cosmos:
Once we were strapped in and safely buckled into my custom-designed, pink, tutu-covered spaceship, "The Twirling Comet," it was time for blast off. We soared through the atmosphere, leaving Earth in our stardust trail! Honestly, darling, it’s like no other experience I've ever had! We even went supersonic in my pink, tullled space cruiser - it’s a pretty speedy model if you haven't heard! And let’s just say it’s got serious starpower. 😉
My destination? None other than the celestial soirée of the century, held by the Galaxy’s Elite – the crème de la crème of intergalactic fashion, with the most stunning celestial beings. We all met for a night of dazzling cosmic cocktails, swirling planetary pastries (served by little space robots who could hardly keep their antenna still with the sugar rush) and of course, the show - the intergalactic performance of the "Celestial Ballet", featuring cosmic choreography by none other than Miss Aurora herself! (Talk about divine intervention!).
Celestial Styles & Interstellar Shopping:
It was beyond spectacular. Think ethereal, flowing silks and swirling gowns, shimmering with constellations, all topped with... you guessed it... the most dazzling interstellar tutus you’ve ever laid your eyes upon! Imagine black velvet with swirling patterns of golden nebulae, or a dazzling pink tulle embroidered with distant stars - it was breathtaking.
You simply had to be there, darling, to truly appreciate the spectacular sights and sounds of this celestial soirée. Honestly, the cosmic outfits are an entire post unto themselves! Each celestial beauty put planet Earth’s fashion bloggers to shame - the fashion world needs to learn a thing or two about haute couture from these galaxies, my dear!
The event took place in the ‘Stardust Room’ in the 'Black Hole Palace’ on planet Zargon, and you just have to know – it was the most glamorous and spectacular setting, bathed in neon blues, with pulsating purple nebulas casting dancing shadows around the space ballroom - completely stunning! It felt like a celestial disco ball! They really go all out, those space-age ladies. I even found myself twirling to an intergalactic dance with a cute alien – they love a good party, those little green guys, with their flashing, bright blue antennas!
Let me tell you, darling, I’ve never felt so fashionable, not even during a night on the red carpet at the Royal Opera House in London! The entire place just hummed with excitement, anticipation, and oh-so-fabulous intergalactic couture! The planets were practically shimmering! Honestly, the entire universe just buzzed with energy - you had to see it to believe it.
*The Stellar Fashion Trend Report: *
Here's a peek into some of the fashion must-haves from my cosmic fashion roundup:
- Nebulae Tutus: A favourite amongst the galactic elite, imagine ethereal black tutus with sparkling golden constellations embedded in the tulle, shimmering under the light of the stars! The details, darling, they made them truly out of this world.
- Galactic Gowns: They just love their fabrics, my dear! Flowing fabrics, shimmering in vibrant nebula hues, adorned with dazzling cosmic embroidery, these gowns had an air of timeless elegance and cosmic wonder about them. Absolutely perfect!
- Cosmic Clutches: Imagine a handbag made entirely of starlight and dusted with comet dust, held in a tiny alien’s hands as they sipped their cosmic cocktail – now that’s avant-garde fashion, darling!
Cosmic Shopping:
Now, you know I wouldn’t go to another planet without doing some fabulous shopping – and let me tell you, you need to see these intergalactic boutiques, dear. There was an actual moon made of silver and jewels dedicated entirely to interstellar tutus, with shimmering stars adorning the display stands! I had to purchase a whole new tutu wardrobe!
Just the best, darling! I bought a sparkling pink tutu that looked exactly like a planetary nebula – simply exquisite! The sales assistant, a delightful blue octopus-like alien named Sash, even helped me with some fashion tips on how to wear it – she’s quite the fashion expert, the little thing!
And if all of this intergalactic adventure wasn't exciting enough, you might also have noticed something... A subtle shift, dear reader. I know it might seem small, but believe me, it’s massive. You see, I wasn't the only one who brought their tutu!
As I pirouetted and twirled, dancing the night away with galactic dancers and fashion icons of planet Zargon, I realized something... every other space traveler in attendance, from charming green beings, to glamorous pink-skinned galactic ladies, were wearing their very own version of a tutu! From shimmering golden to emerald green and sapphire blue, tutus were in every style, colour, and texture imaginable. It was absolutely captivating and the whole event buzzed with a lovely joyful and uplifting energy!
The Pink Tutu Universal Dream:
Yes, dear, you’ve heard me right! My mission to get every living, breathing, space-travelling creature in the universe wearing a tutu is in full swing! I must say, I feel that with every cosmic dance party, every galactic soiree and every twinkling starlight performance – we’re getting closer and closer!
Even if the pink tutu might not be universally appealing, the concept of dancing, celebrating, and feeling glamorous – it seems that’s a sentiment that crosses planets and galaxies.
This just goes to show that beauty truly knows no bounds, darling, and a good twirl in a beautiful tutu can truly bring everyone together - and perhaps, just perhaps – it’s going to be a universe filled with tulle after all! Now wouldn’t that be simply wonderful!
Until next week, dear readers, and don't forget to stay fabulous !
Emma xx
