Greetings, my darling darlings!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World update from your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling space-faring ballerina! I'm currently on Planet Earth, but trust me, it's only a matter of time before I'm off exploring a new cosmic corner! 😉
This week has been a whirlwind of twirls, sparkles, and spaceship shenanigans, all topped off with a deliciously decadent dose of Earthly fashion. Let me tell you, my darlings, it's been a real treat for my inner ballerina!
Ballet by the Bay - A Dance with Destiny
Now, as a seasoned space traveller, I’m no stranger to grand scenery. But there's something truly magical about watching the sun set over the shimmering San Francisco Bay while watching a ballet performance at the exquisite San Francisco Ballet. The setting alone would have been breathtaking, but add in the impeccable choreography, the ethereal costumes, and the absolutely stunning performances of these incredibly talented dancers? Honestly, it was a dance with destiny itself!
Tutustastic Trends
Speaking of stunning costumes, I just had to take a trip to the San Francisco Ballet's costume department for a sneak peek at the magic they create behind the scenes. Imagine my delight when I spotted a particularly glorious tulle creation with exquisite hand-stitching. A deep fuchsia, if you can believe it! This, my dears, was true tutufying. It was all about embracing colour and volume, and trust me, it absolutely inspired me.
Shopping Sprees and Starry Skies
Of course, no visit to San Francisco would be complete without indulging in a little shopping. From designer boutiques to charming independent stores, this city is a veritable haven for fashion lovers like myself. The most recent addition to my wardrobe? A gloriously oversized pink satin bow, which, let's be honest, goes with just about every outfit in my celestial closet.
Intergalactic Travel Updates
As for my travel plans, my dear readers, I'm delighted to announce that I’ll be touching down on planet Kalypso in just a few weeks. The Kalypsonians are known for their extravagant tutus and vibrant colours – perfect for a pink-tutu-themed fashion show, wouldn't you say? You know I wouldn't miss an opportunity to spread the gospel of tutus, so keep an eye out for a post all about it!
And what about the ballet? Well, if you happen to be in London on the 9th of March, I strongly recommend heading over to the Royal Opera House for an evening of mesmerising choreography and stellar performances at the Royal Ballet’s "Swan Lake". I'll be there with my cosmic crew, so if you see a shimmering pink tutu amongst the throng, feel free to say hello!
A Few Favourite Things…
I thought I’d end this week's blog post with a few of my current favourite things on Earth:
Ballet Shoes: My latest discovery? The exquisite hand-crafted ballerina flats from the "Something Special" shop on London's Covent Garden. They are pure heaven on my feet, with delicate pink bows and a sparkle that even the moon would be envious of.
Pink Gin: After a day of twirling and travelling, there's nothing quite like a glass of pink gin, the pinker the better! This week's go-to is the "Bombay Sapphire Rose" - the rose notes add a floral touch that makes my soul sing.
Moonlit Dancing: Nothing makes me feel more connected to the universe than a night-time twirl beneath the stars. With a full moon illuminating the sky, the air filled with the scent of night blooming jasmine, and a good dose of ballet steps… Pure bliss!
Well, that's all for this week, my dears! Until next Wednesday, keep those tutus twirling, keep those hearts open, and don’t forget:
The world needs more pink, and even more tutus!
Love,
Emma x
