Hello my lovely Pink Tutu Posse! I'm so excited to be back on Planet Earth this week! I can't believe it's been a whole seven days since my last post! Goodness, time just flies when you're flitting between planets and pirouette-ing your way across the galaxy.
Speaking of flitting, this week I found myself in the most wonderful city, nestled right on the eastern coast of the US. It was... well, I won't give you too many hints just yet, but let's just say it's known for its stunning skyline, iconic bridge, and delicious bagel shops. My favourite part? Well, apart from the bagels, of course, it was the fabulous ballet show I caught on Tuesday evening at the city's grand opera house! It was pure magic - imagine a sparkling backdrop, a beautiful story of love and loss told through the language of dance, and tutus so exquisite they practically sang!
Oh, and did I mention? The stage was decked out with my absolute favourite shade of pink. It was just like looking into a magical fairyland! Now, I may not have had my own Pink Tutu on during the show, since it's always wise to be discreet when traveling among other planetary beings, but believe me, the Pink Tutu energy was strong!
And talking about Pink Tutus, I had to do a little serious shopping while I was there! You know how much I love trawling through shops for new wardrobe treasures, especially when it comes to sparkly shoes and exquisite silk. I ended up with the most amazing sequined top, absolutely perfect for adding some sparkle to any intergalactic gala, plus a little floral skirt that could double as a costume for a spring-themed ballet routine! And just wait till you see the adorable little pink ballet bag I found!
Anyway, I better stop gushing about my purchases before you think all I care about are the shiny things (well, it's a little true!). Let me tell you all about the show, you see... It was "Swan Lake," and the choreography was absolutely sublime. The dancers, all wearing dazzling costumes with, well, you guessed it - tutus - they were utterly flawless. The story unfolded right before my eyes, taking me on a journey through sorrow, love, betrayal, and ultimately, forgiveness. I just had to stand and applaud, along with everyone else in the audience.
Oh! Before I forget, 13th April! What was going on back on dear old Planet Earth on this date in 2011? Let's have a little look shall we...? I've done my research, and 13th April, 2011, was the 102nd day of the year! The weekend before this date had seen the end of the 2010/2011 Premier League season and a whole load of artists getting awards! There were a few very popular concerts happening in different places around the UK, I saw that. And the UK had just passed a bill called the “Children and Families Bill” in parliament, which will become an Act of Parliament on this date - but, for me, that's only of interest because it helps remind me of just how busy planet earth is all the time, all the while. A never ending story in itself!
But really, none of these events matter when compared to the beautiful magic of “Swan Lake” that night. You know what they say, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, and I can definitely say that there was plenty of beauty in that theater last Tuesday evening. I even managed to sneak a quick backstage peek, thanks to a friend who works in the theater industry - and let me tell you, seeing those dancers up close was like a glimpse into the very heart of graceful beauty. I couldn't help but picture myself dancing with them.
You might wonder how I afford all this amazing travel, from the intergalactic spacecraft rides to the stunning shows and top-tier shopping sprees? It's simple! I perform ballet on different planets, you see. Every place has their own form of "ballet" - whether it's an intricate sequence of celestial body movements, a harmonious symphony of underwater flora dancing, or the breathtakingly elegant ballet of the constellations in the sky - each is its own magical universe of grace and motion!
I'm planning my next journey to a place called… Oh, I can't give away too many secrets yet! You'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, stay fabulous and remember: a pink tutu can make anything magical. Until next week, Pink Tutu Posse!
Love, EmmaP.S. Don’t forget, if you're planning a visit to Planet Earth soon, I highly recommend taking in a ballet performance while you're here! There's always something fantastic on, and it's the perfect way to get a taste of this amazing planet. Oh! And be sure to find a way to squeeze in some pink tutu time while you're here too, it's so much fun!
