Hello darlings!
Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where all things pink and twirly reign supreme! It's your favourite tutu-wearing, space-hopping blogger, Emma, and I'm so excited to be back on Planet Earth, albeit only briefly, before my next galactic adventure.
This week has been all about the Earthly delights: the theatre, the shops, and most importantly, the ballet! I know, I know, some of you are probably thinking "Oh, Emma, you're so predictable," but trust me, even on Planet Earth, there's always a new tutu to be discovered, a new show to be seen, and a new dance move to be learned.
And speaking of predictable, can you believe it's May already?! Time flies when you're having fun, as they say, and frankly, darling, I've been having far too much fun in outer space to be keeping up with the seasons here.
Anyway, enough about the passing of time and onto the exciting bit. This week, I saw the most incredible show! I'm not even going to tell you what it was (no spoilers!), but it was all about... well, let's just say, it had everything to do with ballerinas, and everything to do with pink! Yes, it really was that good! And you know how much I love pink.
Of course, no ballet-themed blog post is complete without a mention of the gorgeous tutu collection I've recently acquired. There's a new little tulle darling with a lovely pale pink hue - almost the exact colour of the clouds in the sunset over Derwent, Derbyshire, when I first saw it on my travels. I can't wait to break it out for a special performance at one of my upcoming shows. Speaking of my shows, my intergalactic performances are what fuel my spaceship journeys! Each ballet act gets me closer to the stars, to exploring new worlds, to experiencing more stunning tutus, and more fantastic ballet. Oh, it's the most wonderful life.
Anyway, darling, I must away, as I've got a spaceport to catch, a spaceship to fly, and an exciting new destination to explore!
Until next Wednesday, keep those tutus twirling, keep those pink hearts beating, and remember: there's no dream too big, no destination too far, and no colour too bright when you have a pink tutu on and a whole universe to explore!
Love and twirls,
Emma xxx
P.S. Make sure you check out the newest tutu arrivals in the Pink Tutu World Shop! I've just added a new line of space-themed tutus ā perfect for galactic adventures! Oh, and if you happen to spot a fellow pink tutu enthusiast on the street, remember the golden rule: Never judge a tutu-wearer! We are a strong, united community of pink-loving twirlers, so spread the pink joy!
A Closer Look at This Weekās Finds:
Well, my lovely darlings, seeing that my post is going to run so much longer than usual, I thought it might be a good idea to do a little deep dive on this weekās Earthly happenings! Letās just say the pink and glitter vibes were strong and the tutu sightings were plentiful!
- Fashionable Finds
I'm sure you've all seen my stories, but my most recent shopping trip in London was truly something special. A new designer boutique called "Tutu Tiaras" opened its doors recently, and let's just say it was my sartorial paradise! I left with a bag of pink, of course - and enough sequins to shine brighter than a thousand stars!
I discovered a new style icon - oh, it was love at first sight, really. A little dancer with the brightest pink hair imaginable. Her style was so eclectic - with vintage finds and modern looks effortlessly blended! She called her style "pink street-ballet." It's about taking inspiration from ballet costumes, dancers, and history, and bringing it into a modern urban context. Honestly, I think she just about stole my thunder when it comes to style on the planet this week! Oh, you all need to follow her.
- The History of Pink Tutus
I know we often think about ballet and tutus, and we get very excited about their beauty and magnificence. But there is something truly magic about diving into their history, isnāt there? I always say that tutus tell a story ā stories of creative ingenuity, artistry, and an appreciation for the beauty of human movement! So this week, Iāve been exploring the story of the pink tutu - can you believe theyāve been around for almost 300 years?! This week, I saw a beautiful performance of āLa Sylphideā (1832) at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. A must-see!
To my dear darlings, when you see those beautiful fluffy pink creations twirling in the theatre or even in the street - don't think of them as just beautiful. Think of all the women who dreamed them, designed them, and wore them before.
- My Personal Earthly Playlist
For those who arenāt so musically gifted like me (itās been a known fact in my family that I should never ever even touch a piano) - well, if Iām being honest, this is truly my one area Iām working on! But for all my musical loves, here is a mix I created for the Earthlings and it just sums up the gorgeous feeling of the ballets I've been watching, shopping at, and living! Itās an explosion of color and life:
[INSERT YOUTUBE/SOUNDCLOUD LINK HERE FOR PLAYLIST - WITH PLAYLIST TITLE: "PINK TUTU WORLD'S EARTHLY DEIGHTS" ā You could put on some classical ballet music ā maybe a āThe Nutcrackerā Waltz mix].
Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth ā What to do for a Fun Friday!
For the week ending on the 30th of May 2012 ā why not celebrate my favourite Earthly city? (Hint - itās London!) Itās the one place I have a very soft spot. A few suggestions for you my pink darlingsā¦
- Check Out a Show! London is one big stage, darling. Catch a ballet performance at the Royal Opera House, or even one of the smaller theaters in London like the Peacock Theatre.
- Have a Pint in a Pink Pub! In all my adventures throughout London ā I love all the history it has and the iconic pubs! Some pubs even have their own pink, themed interiors!
- Shop Until You Drop! What would be a trip to London without a little (or a lot) of shopping! Grab the latest fashion in one of Londonās amazing districts ā from Chelsea to Soho and many more ā Londonās vibrant fashion will have you going!
I promise that a Friday with any of these activities ā it will put a pink smile on anyone's face, no matter how much you love London or even your pink tutus!
Oh, I do so wish you could be with me in the world I've created! It's filled with nothing but happiness and glitter!
