Hello darlings!
It's Wednesday, the day for another fabulously pink installment of Pink Tutu World! π π©° This week's blog takes us on a trip back to my home planet, dear Earth! πβ¨ As you know, my galactic travels often keep me busy, but I always make time to catch up with the Earth's ballet scene, and trust me, there's always something sensational going on!
This time, it was back to the home of the glorious Royal Ballet - Covent Garden, London - for a truly divine experience! Oh, the beauty of seeing those magnificent dancers in their flowing costumes, and the power and grace they poured into every move. Simply breathtaking, darlings! π
Speaking of beautiful, did you catch the stunning new tutus for this year's Swan Lake?! Absolutely exquisite, each one a shimmering cloud of tulle that seemed to defy gravity as the ballerinas floated across the stage. And let's not forget the absolutely gorgeous crimson dresses, giving a whole new level of glamour to the fiery Red Queen. πβ¨
I actually got to meet one of the leading dancers after the show. What a sweetheart! She loved my pink tutu, and I swear I saw her wink at my fluffy pink faux-fur stole! π π
But let's get back to the blog, darling. There was so much going on on Planet Earth during my stay. First of all, the shops - oh the shops! A new pink collection just launched at Liberty London - oh my goodness! Silk, sequins, ruffles, and, of course, lots of pink! And what's better? The designs were inspired by some of the famous tutu designs from the past. A touch of Victorian romance paired with modern sophistication? Sign me up! ππ
I'm going to be very bold and say that if the tutu was invented in Derbyshire (that's my beautiful county on planet Earth, lovelies!), there is nothing to stop it being reinvented all over the planet! We've got everything from classic white to the boldest pinks, from fluffy, ethereal tulle to shimmering silks and even, dare I say, a little bit of glitter. β¨π Tutus, my lovelies, have evolved!
On that note, let me share my secret favourite find on Earth. Did you know there's this quirky little boutique nestled in a tiny cobbled street in Edinburgh? I just love their collection - all unique, hand-made tutus with an artistic edge. You can find pieces there that look like a dream, covered in swirling paint and glitter. Itβs practically art! πΈπ¨
My trip also led me to this beautiful ballet class. Absolutely gorgeous little space filled with light. It reminded me of those Parisian ateliers I discovered on my last interstellar voyage, with high vaulted ceilings and that wonderful, unique atmosphere of creativity and movement. They teach traditional ballet technique here, but with a really lovely emphasis on joy and creativity, something I found deeply moving. π©°β€οΈ
I even had a go at the class - my poor old bones did not love the stretch, but it was fantastic. There was one young girl in the class who was truly dazzling, her pink tutu swishing and twirling. She was amazing, such natural grace! This was, dare I say, the future of ballet! π©°π
Oh, my darling lovelies! It feels great to be back on Earth for a while! I miss it so much sometimes, all that history and culture, those wonderful London ballet shows, all the fashion, and of course, all the delightful shops. The little ones are definitely still my weakness... ππ©° And let me tell you, with all the amazing things happening in fashion and design, it seems that the Pink Tutu revolution is alive and well on planet Earth! ππ
What will I see on my next adventure? Only the stars know... β¨π«
Until next week darlings, keep dancing, stay beautiful, and don't forget to always keep a pink tutu in your wardrobe! ππ
*Lots of love, Emma *
