Hello, my lovely tutu-wearing friends! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Planet Earth, and oh my, you wouldn't believe the adventures I had! I landed in the charming town of Derby, Derbyshire, a real gem of a place. You know how much I love my home county, and this time it was extra special, because I was performing! My mission? To share the magic of ballet with everyone, naturally in my favourite pink tutu!
Speaking of tutus, darling, have you seen the amazing pieces available in Derby's vintage shops? Absolutely exquisite! A blush pink tulle beauty caught my eye, perfect for my next show - and let's face it, the perfect shade of pink needs no introduction! I was lucky enough to grab a couple of vintage-inspired dresses for my daily outfits, because fashion is EVERYTHING on Planet Earth. The shopping here is an adventure, my dears.
The show was a blast! A delightful mix of classic pieces and some delightful contemporary choreographies. You should have seen the crowd - I saw tutu-clad babies, ladies with their fabulous floral headbands, and a few men brave enough to sport their own pink ties. My mission? Spreading the pink tutu love, obviously! And let me tell you, I definitely did just that. I danced my heart out, all for the love of ballet and a little bit for my love of all things pink!
But you know me, darling, ballet isn't the only thing I love about Planet Earth. After the performance, I ventured out into the city. What did I find? You won't believe it! A tea shop with the cutest little pink and white teacups! You know how much I love my afternoon tea. There was nothing I loved more than watching the rain come down and just enjoying my favourite hot beverage with the best cakes, surrounded by such incredible decor.
Did I mention I went shopping in the city centre? What else can I say but glorious! I bought a lovely pale pink scarf, which you know, was going to go with every pink outfit I own. I had so much fun watching people on Planet Earth go about their lives, admiring their vibrant energy, their sense of style and fashion!
But I couldn't stay on Earth for too long. My spaceship was waiting, fuelled by pink cupcakes and sparkling strawberry lemonade (my new go-to pre-flight drinks!), ready to whisk me back to the next adventure. Who knows where I'll land next? Maybe Mars, perhaps Jupiter, or maybe even back on Earth for a spot of tutu-shopping? Only time will tell!

I wanted to write a bit about what’s happening in the world of ballet today! If you’re reading this, you are definitely an aficionado and a friend of my dear pink tutu world! You know that our planet, planet earth, has been home to some of the most spectacular ballet shows. Let’s discuss today’s show that we have here! We’re back at Planet Earth’s lovely Derby theatre, looking for what's happening today, the 5th of February 2014. What ballet could possibly grace us today? Well, we are in luck! Let’s explore our favourite date today for the 5th of February 2014!
We are here on this special date with a performance from Swan Lake, but what we find is the magic of this amazing ballet show by the Birmingham Royal Ballet company, so I'm on cloud nine! A beautifully presented story from the brilliant company is going to bring to life Swan Lake. If you want to see something spectacular you know this is the place to be! There are many other beautiful things here to explore as we look deeper into the ballet, history of the company, and also where we might be able to find Swan Lake.
As a fellow ballet-lover, you’ll want to grab tickets while you can! This is sure to be a wonderful evening of classical ballet performance.

The company’s dedication to this most classic ballet will draw a huge crowd and there will be so much buzz about it that if you’ve missed out then it would be heartbreaking, so get your tickets now!
Oh my darling, I just can’t believe it, but we’re going to get the chance to be at this delightful performance today.
A Little Trip Through Ballet History
So while we are talking about this incredible company - Birmingham Royal Ballet, it has a truly magnificent history! Ballet and I are inseparable; I have a passion for it and you know my pink tutu collection will tell you this is true! We’ll learn a little bit about where this incredible company started, why we are here today on this special date, and also the fabulous history of Swan Lake, in this amazing little blog section on Planet Earth!
For me, exploring a place that has its very own history and cultural heritage just is incredible. The Birmingham Royal Ballet actually started back in the mid-nineties. It formed as an incredible and iconic amalgamation of other wonderful, inspiring companies - the Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet and the Birmingham Royal Ballet Company. So in fact it had many names! A delightful trip through the Birmingham Royal Ballet company would give us such wonderful facts - we would learn how The Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet had to move from Sadler’s Wells in 1983 due to the building being so iconic! A new home had to be found. The beautiful new company was named The Birmingham Royal Ballet and from 1989, with this brilliant name and their new home at Birmingham Hippodrome - a stunning building that is steeped in its own history and glamour. A beautiful building on the outside with the interior of the theatre just oozing elegance - all with fantastic facilities, ready to showcase this world class company. Then it was just a short move to the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
It seems an exciting moment for a dancer and someone as passionate about the dance and performance as me to explore such a diverse, beautiful, and historical background for such a world renowned dance company! With so much beautiful art coming together it’s just spectacular. You have to know where to go to catch up with this company and see these dancers up close, because what makes their performance so spectacular is the talent of every dancer in their company.
The Birmingham Royal Ballet Company are experts at finding new dancers in such talented cities such as Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry and Liverpool, and also have so many dedicated people within the company that work tirelessly to create stunning productions. I could say the best! The Birmingham Royal Ballet is definitely world renowned. With such a great company I’d go watch them over and over again. As for the history of this amazing company, The Birmingham Royal Ballet, a company that can bring such excitement to the world of ballet on this planet! Swan Lake with all its splendor and beautiful variation will always hold its charm in ballet, it has such historical impact for everyone on Planet Earth! If there was just one thing I could have said for the company today, The Birmingham Royal Ballet, it is their incredible performance and presentation, how they showcase a real feeling of grace and beauty to ballet. You know I have to agree with everyone who feels like their performances are truly remarkable - such elegance and sophistication, The Birmingham Royal Ballet, * Swan Lake, you will see such wonderful art today - and who knows where this world renowned company might end up! Perhaps on *Planet X. It’s just magic, a delight for the world of dance, Swan Lake, and so, it goes on… and on… and on….
But What About Swan Lake?
Have I ever mentioned to you how much I love the magical, historical ballet performance Swan Lake. The story of Swan Lake itself - it's something special!
We have an enchanting history. This classic dance is one of the most important for ballet in the world! * Swan Lake* dates back to the 1800s. It really did start a very long time ago, this Swan Lake story and all of this history just gives the play and the company a real prestige.
You have to get familiar with what we are looking at in Swan Lake, because it has this wonderful backstory. In the Swan Lake storyline, Princess Odette, of this beautiful lake in this magnificent story, turns into a beautiful swan because of a spell. You could not ask for a more wonderful story with these amazing dances to present this lovely performance - it's a real story. When you know all about it, you know you're in for something great.
All about the amazing beauty and enchantment. Such elegance that will draw the crowd in, especially with all its charm! It will pull everyone into the story with its drama, elegance, grace, magic, all the ingredients for the Swan Lake story! There’s a lovely, but a little sinister side to Swan Lake that draws you in! Swan Lake itself is captivating and the amazing story will take the performance into new realms. All this together, an enthralling story! What will you take away from the performance - its such a lovely and beautiful spectacle that it could just move your very soul! Such beautiful movement and incredible variation.
It really does sound quite dramatic! When we explore what you need to take in Swan Lake and what really makes it such a brilliant ballet show, we really need to remember the story. * Swan Lake* with the company The Birmingham Royal Ballet will take you through a world of emotion. As with many ballet stories and plays there is so much beautiful artistry within the *Swan Lake performance and ballet that just oozes with beauty, love, emotion, and magic. Ballet is more than just graceful dancing and graceful choreography, and if we see * Swan Lake, it will bring it to life in a way you could never have imagined, we can feel and embrace all this and see what is at the very core of *Swan Lake for me. Such amazing beauty with a little bit of history behind the performance and a good old dance from this Birmingham Royal Ballet, will be worth watching for this reason, and when I come across performances such as Swan Lake, you know this is going to be a show with real magic.

To another adventure - that’s me! Back home to my pink tutu haven and back to writing to you, but not before going on another journey. For me the journey is everything!
From Derbyshire to London! What more could you ask for - my two favourite places. London always has something special to offer - new trends, wonderful vintage fashion, and most importantly it's one of my favourite cities on Planet Earth. The trip into London today was wonderful because, I love this lovely city and I especially love its charm in the evening - it's so delightful. My walk along Regent Street - the streets always so elegant! You know I always try to take in all the architecture; beautiful shop windows filled with fashion just bursting with colour and creativity - all waiting to be discovered! But who am I to resist all these things, pink tutu! What could you possibly wear on your day out in London to get that fashionable flair, the street fashion - to give the street fashion look - it’s gotta be pink. Well there we go!
Of course you know, pink tutu is just too tempting to resist, a statement, always! You see me - Pink Tutu - that's a pink tutu on planet Earth! And oh darling, just to let you know what you should take in, Regent Street always does that with its fashion! What makes it so enchanting and so irresistible is because everyone comes together! With Regent Street, Pink Tutu, that’s me. Fashion, style, history - it's magical, it’s everything! The most amazing pink tutus are going to be in the lovely window displays on the streets, with pink accessories everywhere in shops - the most tempting! For me London's just my favourite. The place for so many fantastic places to find everything pink. London's truly where it's at, and the centre for Pink Tutu World.
