Oh darling, do you know what day it is?! Itās Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my adventures in⦠well, everywhere! My lifeās become one big, sparkly, twirling trip around the galaxy, all thanks to my love of ballet and my pink tutu. This week, I've had a rather extra journey, landing in⦠Planet Earth, of all places!
Honestly, I'd almost forgotten about Earth, and even more so its fashion. But it turns out, while some intergalactic trends have taken over ā Iām looking at you, silver sequins, holographic leotards and those fabulous alien wings ā Planet Earth has held onto some delightful classic sartorial quirks. You wouldn't believe the amazing collection of vintage tutus I found lurking in the back of a second-hand shop! Now, donāt get me wrong, my taste remains decidedly pink (a true girly girl to the core!), but letās be honest, sometimes you need a little oomph to jazz things up. A flash of a midnight-blue or emerald green tutu just spices up a performance!
This trip to Earth came after an unforgettable ballet extravaganza on Neptune ā the crowd absolutely loved my new āSea Serpentā routine. It involves a lot of undulating, slithering movements and a shocking-pink, fishnet tutu that sparkles like the underwater volcanic vents! It was a huge success. Afterwards, as the cheering crowds were chanting āEmma! Emma! Emma!ā, I spotted this stunning planet on my Galactic Navigator. Planet Earth - home of, as the cosmic chatter tells it, the iconic Swan Lake ballet and, wait for it, the infamous London Ballet, famed for their exceptional stage productions and those phenomenal pink costumes⦠I've never quite understood why Earthlings arenāt completely obsessed with the colour, but this trip will give me some intel, no doubt!
Speaking of intelligence, Planet Earth isnāt known for being quite as space-age in terms of travel as, say, the Alpha Centauri System. Theyāre still using that clunky thing called āan airplaneā to get about. Theyāre so out of date! I may have taken a couple of those ā well, only to prove it can be done in my pink tutu ā because there is absolutely no challenge in my usual method of intergalactic travel - by spaceship of course! I am all for an adventure. And for some reason, travelling with that outdated, slightly squeaky technology on Planet Earth in my outfit of choice made quite a stir amongst those still on the planet ā apparently pink isnāt quite as common as it is on Neptune and Alpha Centauriā¦
Despite their limited travel means and penchant for other colours, the Earthlings were pretty amazing! Theyāre super passionate about ballet, very fashion-conscious (even those with an old-fashioned streak) and they are delighted by pink, I discovered. After all, thereās an age-old saying on Planet Earth ā āPink is for everyone!ā (I really love this one!), and the Earthlings arenāt shy about expressing their love for this amazing, magnificent hue.
While I was exploring, I even had a chance to learn more about those vintage tutus that I bought in that second-hand shop! It turns out there's a whole, complicated, enthralling history behind tutus, which is super interesting to me. They've evolved so much over the years, with different lengths, styles, fabrics and⦠you know it, colors. Who knew Earthlings used to use layers of cotton underskirts? Talk about the least glamorous ballet! Imagine performing with something that sags like a pile of old hankies!
The best part? I got to have a front-row seat at a performance of the Royal Ballet's production of Swan Lake! Talk about breathtaking. Even for someone like me who's seen countless ballet performances across the galaxy, Swan Lake on Planet Earth had me spellbound. The story is captivating, the dancers are absolutely phenomenal, and the costumes, well, just beautiful. They made my pink tutu want to join in the performance, darling!
Speaking of costumes, did I tell you that I visited a little vintage fashion boutique called, and I'm not making this up "Pink and Tutu"? It was like a dream come true, filled with amazing garments and outfits - but there was this one pink silk tutu hanging there, begging me to take it home with me. So of course I did! And a lovely vintage broach in the shape of a pink ribbon. I felt quite the glamorous little earthling for a couple of days!
Before I knew it, my visit to Planet Earth came to an end. I spent a wonderful couple of weeks with the Earthlings ā it turns out they are absolutely as delighted with ballet and as fashion-conscious as I'd imagined. They're such fabulous people! There are many who enjoy expressing themselves through the world of pink! Their passion for this delightful color is truly infectious and, believe me, I can't wait to visit them again soon! It would seem that pink is a truly global language! They are the first group Iāve encountered that has an equal obsession for it, on par with me, my dear readers. Iām also planning on having them participate in my ballet competition, "The Pinkest Tutu in the Galaxy!"
There are still so many corners of Planet Earth Iām planning to explore⦠but next stop⦠The moon. Why not, right? You never know, they might just have a hidden collection of gorgeous, pink moon-dusted tutus waiting for me⦠And you just know Iāll be making some kind of interstellar moonwalk while wearing them!
And of course, my sweet, stylish followers, until next Wednesday, may you always find a twinkle in your toes and keep spreading that lovely, sweet, pink love everywhere you go! Donāt forget to leave a comment on the website about your favourite colour, which outfit do you think is the best - the sparkly Neptune tutu, the glittery Earth tutu, or the one for my moon walk? Let me know, and remember - a little pink goes a long way.
Until next week⦠twirl on, lovelies!
