Hello darling tutus! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another intergalactic blog post from Planet Earth. This week, I'm all about ballet, darling – from tutus to tutus!
First up, a big bonheur (French for happiness) to you all! The Universe has been beaming with positive energy and I've just finished a glorious series of en pointe performances to an absolutely fabulous audience at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Those Russians know how to enjoy a good ballet – all that swirling energy!
But you know me – my darling tutus, I’m always on the move. I’ve zipped back to Planet Earth for a little respite from my galactic explorations. And what better place to recharge those batterie muscles (you know – those really important quick steps and leaps we ballerinas do) than good ol’ Derbyshire? I tell you, you simply can't beat a traditional British tea and crumpets – and a good bit of gossip, of course!
Pink tutu trends in London
So, a little about my trip! London has been my grande finale stop-off before my next grand adventure. As you know, London is the very beating heart of fashion and creativity, so I had to sneak off for a spot of window-shopping – yes, even ballerinas like a bit of retail therapy, darling! You know what I'm like! My favourite stop-off was at Liberty – that gorgeous Victorian building packed with the most divine, gorgeous clothes, accessories, and… well, the most exquisite tutus you've ever seen! They just had a huge display of pink ones! Talk about glitz and glamour. Oh, you simply must see it for yourself – my darlings, don't take my word for it – experience it! I just about died and went to pointe-heaven.
Speaking of tutus – the ballet is my passion, darling! Did you see the Bolshoi's stunning performance of Giselle? Absolutely incredible! Honestly, the talent and skill was simply exquisite. Giselle, by the way, is the quintessential ballerina. She's the inspiration. It was like watching magic in motion! Those twirls, those leaps, and the exquisite expressions – it's all in the tutu! That, darling tutus, is the true essence of a ballerina's performance: bringing joy and artistry through the power of the tutu. And let's not forget, dearies, all of the world’s greatest ballet companies were made on pink tutus, don’t you just love their history?
Speaking of pink, dearies… have you ever thought about trying ballet? You don't have to wear a tutu, but you definitely should! Why not? You’d love it! I mean, it’s such good exercise and just an absolutely brilliant way to get away and be your absolute best self! You could start at your local studio or, if you’re feeling very ambitious – do as I do, darlings – travel the Universe to see a big show in some truly amazing theatres around the world. And then maybe… you too will love the ballet and the wonderful community of dancers! Who knows, you might even consider designing your own tutus! I have some tips in one of my early blog posts from my blog last year…
Back to the future of tutus
Okay, darling tutus, enough about fashion. I am so, so excited to tell you what I have in store for you and our wonderful pink tutu world. As many of you know, I love travelling to all sorts of fantastic places in the Universe, from Jupiter to Pluto, from Venus to Mercury. I am off on an epic expedition – the journey will take us to so many wonderful worlds and we'll explore even more of our beautiful Universe. I mean, darling tutus, that’s where my tutu-clad spirit really comes alive.
The other day, I was reading about the future of ballet and it has so much potential to truly embrace our global and galactic communities. The dance world has such a vast array of talents! Imagine a world of ballerinas from every star system, every planet, and every corner of the Universe. We could dance a universal pas de deux (that’s a fancy ballet move for “partner dance” you know!) – can you just imagine the sheer joy and creativity?! It’s something to strive for and one day it will become a reality. Oh, darling tutus, it just will happen. You heard it here first.
Anyway, I have a long journey ahead of me. First stop: Neptune, and then on to some of the smaller moon systems of Saturn. Soooooo many new ballet studios and shops I’ve got to visit, all filled with amazing tutus and some real fashion inspiration! And just you wait, darling tutus! You will be reading all about it here every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com on Planet Earth, or on my little spaceship blog www.pink-tutu.spaceship.com (You did know about that, right?)
Don't forget to get out those pink tutus – all shapes, colours, sizes, and materials – put on your best smiles, darlings! And keep watching this space, darling tutus! Love you lots, Emma x.
