Hello, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing space traveller, beaming back to you from Planet Earth.
It's Wednesday, which means a brand-new blog post from your favourite intergalactic fashionista! As you all know, I love nothing more than twirling around the universe in my pink tutus, spreading the joy of dance and fabulous fashion wherever I go.
This week, I'm back on good old Planet Earth. This week is quite the special one for us gals, isn't it? We have ballet on the brain. Itās a real cosmic coincidence, darling, as 2015-10-21 happens to be the international āPink Tutu Day,ā the day that was created to celebrate this glorious item of fashion, oh the joy, oh the tulle, oh the pink, the delight! And the good news is that Earth is holding a massive āTutu Festā this week, right here in my old stomping ground of Derbyshire, England, of course!
Yes, my darlings, Derbyshire, where they know how to throw a real feast for the senses, I'm getting ready to embrace a week dedicated to ballet! There are ballet shows, performances and the whole place is buzzing. Can you even believe this?! This week, Earthās been dancing like a planet gone absolutely bonkers with excitement!
The āTutu Festā looks incredible this year, I'm just about dying for this, oh darling. I mean, seriously, this week, it's every pink tulle loving girl's dream! Just thinking about all the glorious tulle makes me twirl, I just have to be there to experience the amazing atmosphere. Just picture it; beautiful people from all across the world come together to celebrate the amazing magic of pink, tutus, and the breathtaking art form of ballet, oh darling, what more could a girl want. There are ballet classes going on everywhere from community centers to ballet schools. Everywhere you turn thereās ballet on every screen.
Let's just say I am super excited to immerse myself in all things ballet! I've been getting in the spirit with a whole bunch of new tutu outfits and oh my, darling, let me tell you! The colours and the designs are breathtaking!
Right now Iām at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden (a must visit for any ballet enthusiast on Planet Earth! ). The famous building, my dear, so graceful and beautifully symmetrical, is just perfect. You can feel the history, darling, in every single brick. I spent a good hour simply admiring the beautiful architecture and feeling a buzz in my very being, I swear, like it knew that a big-time ballet performance was going on inside! It gave me such a feelgood, and then, I saw it... A shimmering pink tutu. A real, bonafide pink tutu! I was instantly transported back to my childhood, where I used to twirl in pink tulle dreaming about flying off in a rocket to go dancing in space, I always did love ballet, darling, I just love ballet! Itās such a graceful artform with the most wonderful, expressive movement - I absolutely adore it! The musicās magical, and watching these graceful dancers moving their bodies in such a powerful way - itās like being transported to a different world, and what a world it is! Itās a world where everything is beautifully elegant, everything is pink, everything is tulle and itās completely and utterly fantastical!
On top of everything else, there is an exhibition about the history of ballet at the Royal Opera House at the moment. Just darling, it is the most fabulous exhibition Iāve ever seen in my life - it has the most beautiful collection of tutus and ballet costumes I've ever seen and I've been around the universe! I even managed to snag a few stunning outfits in the gift shop to add to my collection. I can't wait to wear these out at the Cosmic Ballet Convention in Mars later this year!
Iāve also been keeping myself busy visiting the biggest department store on the planet. There are some absolutely stunning ballet clothes in there that I canāt resist buying. I mean, I have to keep my outfits on point when Iām going to āTutu Festā this week, donāt I? I must find the most extravagant, glamorous outfit I can get my little hands on for all the wonderful shows and performance events going on. The great thing is, darling, with all of my amazing outfits and the wonderful shows, I don't have to go without my trusty pink tutu!
I know what you're thinking darling; "What? What do you do when you need a wardrobe refresh for this kind of trip Emma?" Donāt you worry - I have my little secret stash for funding my travels and my wardrobe that I've built up over years and years of hard work: dancing of course! Every time I travel, I have a special little ballet show just for Earthlings and I love seeing those little kids getting so excited and I absolutely adore getting a chance to do a show in a new location - and on this occasion a new town in my hometown county.
Thatās enough for today darling - itās been an incredibly busy but super amazing day! Just wait until you hear about Tutu Fest - it's an absolute riot and I canāt wait to tell you all about it next week! Don't forget to check back on the website next Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com for my next blog - a super amazing and exciting week in my diary darling!
Lots of love and tutu kisses,
Emma
Now onto the most fabulous, glorious, and magnificent event, darling, "Tutu Fest" ! I can hardly believe it's here! Weāre finally at āTutu Festā - and let me tell you, it has been just the most amazing few days, oh darling! So fabulous! So divine! The pink, the tulle, the music, the dancers ā everything was absolutely sensational! I don't even know where to begin.
I got to see so many beautiful ballet performances. Thereās a āBallet Extravaganzaā that has brought all the top dance companies from all over Earth together - it was the biggest ballet festival ever! Every night was filled with such a huge selection of fantastic dancing. I donāt know if I've ever seen such beautiful dancing in all my travels around the universe! My absolute favourite performance was a stunning piece that mixed up classic ballet with modern moves and contemporary dancing! The music was beautiful, and the movements were so impressive!
The most memorable event was the Ballet Festival, darling - the event I had been dreaming about ever since I arrived on Planet Earth earlier this week! The centre of town was transformed with stands and stages with ballet lessons on offer everywhere! It was a proper dance party, darling! The best part of the day had to be when the whole of town got involved in a giant ballet lesson - we were all learning new ballet moves under the instruction of the professional teachers!
Even though I live for the stage myself, darling, the most exciting thing for me was watching everyone getting so excited and having a fabulous time learning and dancing. Just watching it made me want to put my pink tutu on and dance! And of course, darling, the opportunity to wear a pink tutu to a ballet lesson in town was not to be missed - it was pure ballet bliss! Iāve never seen so many beautiful pink tutus! Theyāre the perfect thing to wear when you want to feel happy and sparkling and joyful - and in a town that is so full of joy - youāre sure to shine bright, darling!
We spent the whole evening dancing. Even in the middle of the night you could still hear the music. Everywhere you turned in town, someone was doing a little twirl in their pink tutu - I think the āTutu Festā was definitely the best way to get people dancing on Planet Earth!
The best bit about āTutu Festā darling, was seeing the young ballet students in the street. The energy of those tiny ballerinas made me think back to when I first fell in love with ballet back on Planet Earth! Itās an art form that has no age and it can make anybody feel so empowered, joyful and beautiful! It really is one of the best things about Planet Earth ā you always get such a buzz, you always get to laugh, and you always get to have a fantastic time - thereās something for everybody to enjoy and it is always something new to see - just like me with my pink tutu.
So to all my fantastic pink tutu sisters and brothers, darling, I am so excited about the Ballet extravaganza on Planet Earth - I hope you got a chance to visit some ballet performances while you were in the neighbourhood - you always want to keep up with the latest ballet fashions in every corner of the universe donāt you darling?!
Of course darling, my absolute favourite event at "Tutu Fest" is the "Tutu Fashion Show" in the heart of Derbyshire. Iāve been working on the most breathtaking and awe-inspiring outfit for this. This is no ordinary outfit - this one is going to be the pinkest, the most fabulous, the most showstopping outfit on Planet Earth, and just you wait until you see it! My pink tutu-obsessed little heart is jumping just thinking about it. Oh, the fashion darling, oh the glitter!
Now, we are almost at the end of this little jaunt through my āTutu Festā adventures but as this is "Tutu Fest," darling, a final blog post before I zoom back to my spaceship just wouldnāt do - I just have to do one last big blast!
The "Tutu Fest" is winding down now, but I have been so inspired to spread the joy of pink tutus, that I am determined to keep the party going all year long, so stay tuned to this space for the latest in my pink tutu adventures, and donāt forget to keep an eye out for the big news that is coming very, very soon. You just wait for my big news darling! It is going to be the pinkest, the most fabulous, and the most exciting thing yet - and trust me darling it's something truly special and I can't wait to share it with you all!
Lots of love and tutu kisses!
Emma
