28th October 2015
Oh, darling readers! What a whirlwind of a week it's been! From pirouetting across the starry plains of Alpha Centauri to a surprise tutu-themed fashion show on Uranus (you've got to see the vibrant green sequins, utterly divine!), I've barely had time to catch my breath. But, wouldn't you know it, I'm back on dear old Planet Earth, and oh, how I missed it!
The scent of autumn leaves, the gentle warmth of the sun on my cheeks, the cheeky sparrows flitting amongst the trees... And, of course, a steaming cuppa! Can't you tell? I'm absolutely blooming. 💖
Speaking of blooms, my travels have been truly flourishing! You wouldn't believe the delightful adventures I've been on this week!
Firstly, let me share the fabulous news - I have a new ballet studio on Venus! They say love is blind, but they certainly can't say that about a ballerina! I can see so clearly that this little Venus outpost will be a roaring success. The locals just adore ballet, you see. They are positively swooning over the "Pink Tutu Programme," which I'm delighted to tell you, will soon be offered at ALL of my intergalactic studios!
Venus and Its Magnificent Marble Floors
Venus - a world of soft whispers, beautiful pastels, and... marble floors! Did I tell you about the floors? They're magnificent! A swirling mosaic of colours, shimmering like a cosmic dust storm in the sun's light! My favourite bit? The star-shaped patterns are just the perfect inspiration for new choreography!
After my grand opening - which featured an incredible "Dance Amongst the Stars" showcase with an extra special guest appearance by a troupe of space pixies (so utterly charming, those pixie-dust twirls!), I couldn't help but spend the rest of the afternoon at their famous Ballet Archives. Imagine! You know, back in the day, when Venus was just starting to get its ballet legs (pardon the pun), dancers used to perform on moon-rock platforms! A lot like that one ballet they had in the Victorian era... I forget the name... ah, yes! Giselle - they used the same method on Planet Earth - it all comes back to me now. I need to jot that down, it’s fascinating.
The library on Venus was positively overflowing with incredible manuscripts and old ballet costumes. I bought the loveliest pale blue, moon-dusted tulle from the costume archives - it was once worn by the Venus Queen of Ballet.
Neptune: Tutus are Truly Divine
Next, it was on to Neptune! Neptune, you see, is all about the shimmering silks and sparkling sequins. They take their dance costumes incredibly seriously! It was on Neptune that I found the divine inspiration for my "Tutus of the Cosmos" collection! I mean, when I saw the fabric they use, it was simply an epiphany. They dye it with colours from the swirling nebulae - the reds, blues, and purples are truly breathtaking. And, they call their style "Galactic Glam." No wonder they were so enthusiastic when they saw the "Pink Tutu Programme." It’s an absolute match!
Their costume shop was positively enchanting. Just endless rows of fabrics with cosmic colours and shimmering sequins - perfect for all those fabulous Neptune dancers! My dear friend from Mercury, Princess Lila (oh darling, she always looks sensational in her diamond tiaras - she is one of my "Tutus of the Cosmos" Muses! ) sent me the most delightful message just before I left. She said, "Oh, darling, this new fashion range is just what we need! Mercury needs more pink in our lives. I must have one of these tutus as soon as possible - my latest show, The Mercury Mercury is simply screaming out for a Pink Tutu!"
What's Next for the Tutu Goddess?
Speaking of shows, you’re in for a treat because today, October 28th, at the world-famous Covent Garden Royal Opera House, there's a special performance of the Nutcracker! I just can’t miss that - and, I know, it's the final performance for the amazing Sarah Wildor (a ballerina who just simply sparkles, my absolute darling!). So, of course, my day is planned out in meticulous detail - it wouldn't be right to not be in the stalls, with a glass of champagne, and ready to give her a huge round of applause. I'll share my outfit plans and the show highlights in my next blog, and, oh, maybe a bit about the show’s backstage goss and my Nutcracker tutu fashion. Oh! Darling, you're simply going to die when you see what I have in mind!
So, until then, keep twirling with the stars! You’ll never find me far from the magical world of ballet!
With the warmest of embraces,
Emma
