Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, your weekly dose of all things pink, sparkly, and twirly. It's Wednesday, so grab a cuppa, settle into your favourite fluffy armchair (the one covered in pink silk, obviously!), and let's dive into this week's adventure!
Now, you all know I'm a massive space buff, right? Not only do I love travelling by spaceship, but I'm endlessly fascinated by the history of our solar system, all the crazy constellations, and - ahem - the possibility of extraterrestrial tutu enthusiasts. Well, this week, I got to combine my passion for all things pink with my love of all things stellar. Let's just say, darling, I was living for this trip!
Ballet On A Distant Planet
It was 2016-02-03 when I finally got to board the Space Starship 'Tutus in the Galaxy' (they should really work on their spaceship naming!) after weeks of rehearsing my cosmic ballet routines. Trust me, you've got to see a pirouette in zero gravity. Absolutely magical, darling. It's like gravity's just a suggestion!
My performance was planned for a grand space opera house on a planet nicknamed 'Blue Jewel', a shimmering sapphire sphere of a world just a touch chillier than planet Earth. Let's just say, the costume department did not disappoint! The dancers from Planet Blue Jewel wore this amazing blend of glittering blues and swirling whites, reminding me of a cosmic nebula come to life! Of course, my costume was pure pink, a breathtaking pink feather boa (all ethically sourced, darling) swirling around a shimmering tutu.
Let me tell you, performing in front of an intergalactic audience is quite the experience. They loved it, and they cheered so loud - which I found out later was not a shout of applause, but a symphony of whistles and strange harmonica-like sounds that apparently translate to “That's our champion!" on their planet! I do love an appreciative audience, you see?
After my ballet show, I had a chance to see the sights on Planet Blue Jewel, including their incredible museums devoted to the history of space travel. There were fascinating exhibits, like the very first cosmic-spacesuit-designed-for-tutu-wearing-astronauts (the designers have definitely heard of me! wink wink) and an intriguing collection of celestial bodies - even one made entirely out of crystallised pink salt! You could say the Pink Tutu Planet is very lucky, I must come back!
Fashion, Shopping, and Space Adventures
My time on Blue Jewel was packed, you see. After my performance, the fabulous space fashion bloggers of the planet threw me the most exquisite cosmic-tutu-themed cocktail party in a rooftop bar with absolutely the most dazzling views of a nebula in the distance. Imagine a glittering pink nebula, swirling amongst thousands of iridescent stars... that's the view, my lovelies, you just have to imagine it! It was absolutely divine! They'd all heard about my planetary pink tutu craze, and I spent hours discussing cosmic styles, swapping ideas for future collaborations (there may or may not have been a mention of a cosmic pink tutu competition...). It’s going to be huge. I knew this trip was destined to be amazing.
I absolutely loved seeing how their fashions incorporated shades of blue - so glamorous, chic and modern. In fact, the Blue Jewelans had some great new designs incorporating a touch of pink. The colour seemed to be catching on, maybe I was having a positive effect on the universe.
After my trip, it’s back to Earth. But guess what?
This Friday night, my Pink Tutu troupe is performing at a spectacular charity fundraiser in the heart of Derby. Tickets are selling out fast, so make sure to check my website! All the proceeds go to a lovely local charity that provides tutus for underprivileged ballerinas, making dreams come true and proving once again, my darling, that tutus are, after all, universal!
What’s Coming Up
It's never boring in Pink Tutu World, darling. Keep an eye out for more on Planet Blue Jewel and some tips on finding the perfect pink feather boa (they’re everywhere and let me tell you, feather boas are an excellent way to bring any outfit to the next level!), plus the lowdown on next week's adventure.
Until then, happy twirling, Emma xxx
