Hello my darling Tutu-tastic friends!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another thrilling installment of Pink Tutu World! This week, we're taking a little trip back to good old Planet Earth! You know, home of all things fabulous and tutu-tastic! It's been such an adventure whizzing through the galaxy, and there's no place quite like home.
As you know, my life is all about the love of dance, fashion, and sparkly things, and Earth, oh, it truly delivers! From the glittering catwalks of London to the historical ballet stages of Paris, and let's not forget about those spectacular street performances - this planet is overflowing with artistry!
And, of course, let's not forget about the delicious pink tutu shops, those glorious places where a girl can indulge in the ultimate tutu dream! You know me, my friends, my life's mission is to get everyone in the universe wearing a pink tutu! It's a bold mission, but we're making progress one twirl at a time.
Planet Earth, you've got it all!
This week I had the most delightful time at the Royal Opera House, seeing a captivating performance of Swan Lake. The ballerina's technique was exquisite, and the sheer drama of it all was simply divine. You know me, I have a bit of a weakness for anything Swan Lake related, and to see it performed with such precision, grace, and emotional depth just blew me away! I couldn't resist a little sashaying around the foyer afterwards - oh, the elegance, the twinkle, the pure joy of being at a truly stellar ballet show!
Speaking of swan lakes, I simply had to pick up a few new additions for my tutu wardrobe! There’s nothing quite like a perfectly fitted pink tulle tutu that makes you feel like a true ballerina princess, and what better time than on a trip back to good ol' Earth? My go-to is Pink Petal Boutique in London, they have a selection of delicate floral tutus that just set my heart aflutter.
I couldn’t leave the Earthly delights without indulging in some high-end shopping, so it’s not surprise I popped into the legendary Harrods. The perfume counters were truly delightful! Oh, the aroma of all those heavenly scents - so glamorous. Naturally, I had to take a photo with the giant pink fluffy bunny, what else would a fashion blogger like myself do?
Now, it's time to get back on the spaceship and get back to the adventures of the intergalactic tutu world. There are so many amazing planets to explore and tutus to be twirled. But I can't wait for my next visit to good ol' planet earth. It’s like coming home.
Oh, and speaking of Earth, did you know that 10th February, 2016 was "National Umbrella Day"?!
That's right, a whole day dedicated to that lovely, delicate shade of pink. I’m hoping to start a new intergalactic trend - a "Pink Tutu Day"! What better way to celebrate our love of this magnificent shade of pink than to twirl together all over the universe in our lovely pink tutus? I mean, it's so good for our soul, don’t you think?

P.S: Did I mention that I had my ballet class right before heading to the theatre?! What a whirlwind week, but so much fun. If you haven't tried ballet class, my darling Tutu-tastic friends, it's time to step out of your comfort zone. You'll be surprised what a joy it is, trust me! Just be careful about your tutu - you don’t want to accidentally go 'En Pointe' while in class.
A Peek into Tutu History!Oh my friends, the history of the tutu, it’s simply a ballet in itself, a whimsical waltz of fabric and style. As a proud tutu aficionado, I can’t not include some of my favorite historical titbits, can I? It would be like saying no to a delicious pink cupcake - simply unthinkable!
Did you know that the original "tutu" wasn't necessarily pink or sparkly at all? In fact, it wasn’t even called a "tutu" in its earliest incarnations!
Back in the 1700s, they wore these beautiful floor-length, billowing skirts! A serious contrast to the wispy delights we adore today! Think long skirts and a graceful, billowing elegance, all thanks to those beautiful silks!
Then came the 1800s - and enter the revolution! Enter Marie Taglioni, the absolute darling of ballet, a true vision of femininity and grace. Her desire for free movement? It revolutionised the ballerina silhouette! The skirt shortened, became airy and more form-fitting. The "tutu" took a serious shape shift and it’s become our beloved, romantic, twirl-tastic silhouette!
You know, my darling friends, it makes me so excited to think about where the tutu journey will go in the future! What will the tutu of the future look like? Perhaps it'll be woven with shimmering stardust? Or, perhaps a constellation of sparkling LEDs? Who knows! I'll certainly be sure to document the journey with all of you!
