Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #1120

Wednesday 12th October 2016

Darling dears, it’s Emma here from your favourite Pink Tutu World! And what a glorious week it's been, positively brimming with excitement! Honestly, the cosmos just never ceases to amaze me, and trust me, my darling, it has been a rather hectic few days!

First things first, let's dive head-first into my week. Oh my! You simply won’t believe this, but my latest interstellar escapade took me to…Planet Earth!

Yes, you heard that right! Back to the home planet, and not for a spot of tea and crumpets (although that would be lovely), but for a spectacular ballet show in none other than Derbyshire, my dear county, the very place I call home. My mother has always said I get my flair for the dramatic from the dramatic landscapes of the Peak District - and that I certainly do! The beautiful limestone, and dramatic sandstone peaks provide the ultimate inspiration, and are the ultimate background for ballet inspiration, don’t you think? I actually think that some of the ballet inspiration comes from my lovely mother; she had a very grand sense of the dramatic and really believed that it was perfectly normal to wear a tiara to a ball at the local manor house. I actually think that my pink tutus came about because of that!

Now, for the big show. This was a rather special one – it was the Royal Ballet’s ‘Swan Lake’ at the Royal Opera House. This, my lovelies, is quite a production. There I was, surrounded by thousands of people, each as enthralled as the next. It really does get your pulse racing – that glorious blend of drama and beauty. You know how much I love swans; there is something just magical about their grace and elegant nature, their swan lake is legendary. Of course, no ballerina show would be complete without a little backstage peek! I managed to have a chinwag with one of the principal dancers; the most elegant ballerina, just picture her with sleek white feathers on her costume and the most delicate of tutus…such grace, such style, such a dream! Such inspiration! But more on the fabulousness of ballet in a future post. My little chat with the ballerina inspired me to don my most amazing sparkly pink tutu and get to my class!

Speaking of the theatre, the grandest spectacle was awaiting me after the show: a feast for the eyes, my loves – a veritable treasure trove of tutus. You just cannot have enough tutus – and you know what? My love affair with these whimsical pieces just keeps growing. That little chat with the ballerina, was inspiring - now I must start a tutus-to-the-people campaign. Every little girl dreams of tutus, every woman has it in her heart, all my life, I have loved to dance in a tutu, in the house, in the woods, and yes, even out in space - it just makes you feel fabulous.

Now, about my outfits for this rather fabulous trip back to Earth. And here is where it really gets exciting. You know how much I adore pink and glittery pieces, don’t you darling? And this outfit was an absolute vision in shimmering lilac - imagine, my dears, shimmering, fabulous fabric – the colour of a summer sunrise with a gentle touch of glamour that is simply irresistible! A beautiful pink bow was just the perfect accent. Oh, and of course, the absolute star of the show: my most flamboyant pink tutu – a masterpiece in pink, if you will! It truly turned heads on this exciting visit! So many people gave me thumbs up; in fact it felt as though all eyes were on me, and I really think it inspired quite a few people – which is all the reward a girl needs for rocking a look like that!

Speaking of sparkly fashion and travel – how do you like this? I even had a little dance routine planned out for my first flight to Earth! Honestly, the most spectacular journey through the cosmos – gliding across galaxies, you could almost hear the gentle rustle of the tulle as my tutu danced across the stardust. The beauty of this universe, well, there is no comparison. Honestly, that flight across the nebulae was something out of a dream, something beautiful that I could watch forever and ever!

Anyway, after such a magical ballet week – a ballet week that has given me so much inspiration, my dear lovelies, – the time has come for me to set off on my next fabulous space escapade. And if you think I’m going to be boring about what this might be, well then think again, darling! Keep those fingers crossed and hold on tight to your pink tutus because the Pink Tutu World blog will be brimming with adventure next week, so don’t miss it. Yours, Emma XOXO *P.S. * This pink-tastic pink Tutu Week has not ended yet. Remember that Pink Tutus should be worn for any event. So pop on a tutu this week and strut your stuff; remember it doesn’t have to be an expensive tutu, get that little girl within you going! What’s important is a spirit of fun and enjoyment and, dare I say, a splash of pink!
