Welcome back, my darling tutus! It's Wednesday again, which means another Pink Tutu World blog post has pirouetted its way onto the internet, just like a perfect fouetté! And guess what, darlings? Your favourite tutu-wearing, space-hopping ballerina is back from another interstellar adventure, and let me tell you, this one was simply divine!
This week, I was fortunate enough to touch down on good old Planet Earth. Yep, you read that right, dear readers. Your humble blogger found herself back on home turf, surrounded by the earthy delights of Derbyshire. It's always lovely to be back among the rolling hills and charming villages, although I did miss my spaceship, my darling Chloe.
But don't worry, my sweet tutu-ettes, I wasn't back on Earth to just sit around and drink tea with my Nana (although, bless her heart, she did bake a lovely Victoria sponge, which was practically melting in my mouth!) No, I was back with a purpose - to soak up all the ballet-tastic inspiration this incredible planet has to offer!
Let's talk ballet, shall we? Planet Earth is brimming with beautiful ballet shows, and this time I was fortunate to see a dazzling performance by the Royal Ballet in Covent Garden, London. Oh, darling! You'd think I was back in the 19th century! The sheer spectacle of the performance took my breath away. From the gorgeous costumes to the stunning choreography, it was truly a feast for the senses. And I wore a stunning pink tutu for the occasion, naturally, a vibrant raspberry shade with tulle so delicate it felt like a cloud, a little reminder of my interstellar voyages.
After the performance, I was swept away by a whirlwind of excitement and emotions. There's just something magical about seeing ballet performed live. You feel the passion, the energy, the story unfolding right before your eyes. I don't know about you, darlings, but there's just something about seeing a perfect grand jeté, or a graceful pirouette, that makes me want to spin and twirl until I can't twirl anymore.
Of course, no trip to the city is complete without some delightful shopping, especially in London! It was absolutely heavenly to spend some time browsing the chicest boutiques and discovering the latest fashion trends. But nothing captured my heart like the charming little shop hidden away in Covent Garden called "The Tutu Boutique." I couldn't leave without a beautiful, vintage pale pink tutu that would fit perfectly with my ballet history collection, you see. Every tutu I own tells a story and my vintage tutu collection is slowly becoming my pride and joy. I wonder if one day they will grace the stage of the Royal Opera House with a history exhibit. Now wouldn't that be dreamy?
Oh, darlings, did I mention that this was a special date on Planet Earth? 2016-11-02, marked a momentous occasion - the 100th anniversary of the Royal Opera House's first ballet performance! Yes, you read that right! They put on a special programme, which involved a little ballet exhibition showing costumes, props and set pieces. What a fascinating trip through time!
I also indulged in some of the delights of London's vibrant street food scene. Honestly, I must confess, my spaceship diet of galactic fruit didn't really prepare me for the glorious excess of "Fish and Chips."
Let me know if you’re coming to Derbyshire and Covent Garden anytime soon - there's plenty of time for a little chat about my latest planetary exploits and maybe, just maybe, we can catch a show together and share a delectable Victoria Sponge (or even a decadent slice of fish and chips, if that takes your fancy!)
Remember, darlings, it's never too late to start dancing! Let's spread joy, grace, and beauty wherever we go - one pink tutu at a time! Until next week, darlings, remember:
Tutus on, space buns up! Have a beautiful week.
Yours eternally,
Emma
