Planet Earth Adventures: Post #1149 – From Derbyshire to the Stars, in Pink, of Course!

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another post from your favourite pink-tutu-clad space traveller, Emma! I'm currently back on Planet Earth after a whirlwind adventure, so I’m all ready to spill the tea on what’s been going on in the universe (and trust me, it’s been fabulous)!

As many of you know, my spaceship, aptly named The Tutu Galaxy, and I have been exploring some fascinating new galaxies. But this week, I'm pulling back the curtain on a very special adventure from Wednesday 3rd May 2017 – a trip I’ve been dreaming about for ages!

Let's rewind to last week when I landed back in good ol’ Derbyshire, England. It’s a lovely part of the world with stunning rolling hills and, of course, all the best cake shops. This was the week for a spot of familiar fun before heading back to the cosmos, because you all know how much I love my ballet! I’m absolutely thrilled because I managed to bag tickets for the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House in London, performing La Bayadère - and what a masterpiece it was!

A touch of History & Glamour

First, let's delve into some ballet history. This beautiful story of the Temple Dancer, Nikiya, and her love for the warrior, Solor, captivated me with its romanticism and dramatic twists. La Bayadère, which literally translates as 'The Bayadère', was first premiered back in 1877 in St. Petersburg and has since become a ballet icon, capturing hearts for over a century.

My outfit for this event was, of course, pink! I opted for a tulle, tiered, light pink tutu, perfect for a touch of celestial whimsy with its delicate ruffles and swirling effect – perfect for my spaceship travel! Paired with this was a glittery lavender, silk bodice to match the gorgeous opulence of the show.

Onward to The Royal Ballet!

And let me tell you, it was pure magic! The stage at the Royal Opera House is breathtaking – with ornate embellishments and elegant lighting. It's a perfect backdrop for the stunning dancers' athletic grace, delicate moves and powerful jumps. The entire production is incredibly moving and beautiful – there’s a reason it’s considered one of the most iconic ballets!

One of the highlights for me was witnessing the magnificent ‘Kingdom of Shades’ scene with the ghostly white tutus. So elegant, and a visual treat! Each time the curtain rises, I feel such wonder. This time, it was the incredible talent and passion of the dancers, it took my breath away.

London’s Ballet Scene

Of course, my London visit wouldn't be complete without a trip to Liberty London. A heaven of vintage treasures and vintage fashion delights, it’s one of my favourite places to pick up some quirky pieces that are sure to add that extra oomph to my galactic travels. I also ventured into Harrods, home to so much high-end fashion that you need a dedicated team of security just to handle the credit card machines! (Just kidding … almost!). This trip wasn’t about the shopping this time, as I am on a tight budget between my star-hopping journeys!

Back in my World… On the Internet

Back on the interweb, it was time to check on my followers! On www.pink-tutu.com, I’m getting ready to put up my most exciting announcement to date! I'm teaming up with The Cosmic Ballet Academy in Andromeda! I can't say too much yet (gotta keep some secrets, babes!), but imagine this - me, giving you online ballet classes straight from the galaxy, all while rocking my signature pink tutus. It's going to be epic!

As for my travel schedule, I'm off to Alpha Centauri on Sunday to explore their incredible arts scene. You all know my passion for performance! It's rumour mill says that the centaurians are having an annual Ballet on Ice extravaganza. My boots are ready, but my heart is set on their exquisite gowns - something dazzling and flowy in a beautiful shade of aquamarine would be divine!

Until then, my darlings, keep spreading the pink tutu love. Every Wednesday, I’ll bring you more intergalactic adventures!

XOXO

Emma
