Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post 1150!

Hello my gorgeous darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu World!

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! It’s time to step into the shimmering, sparkly, utterly fabulous world of pink tutus, and this week we’re heading right back to Planet Earth!

Honestly, it’s been so lovely being back amongst the stars, travelling through space in my sparkly, diamanté-studded spaceship, but there’s no place quite like home! And trust me, Earth never disappoints!

10th May, 2017

This particular Wednesday was buzzing! It was National Dance Day! So naturally, the atmosphere was already electric. But we added a touch of extra oomph by taking in a ballet show in the heart of London. Now, I know what you're thinking, London! How utterly déjà vu, isn’t it?! But, darling, I couldn’t resist. You see, I always go for the shows with that je ne sais quoi, that something special that elevates the experience. And trust me, this show did not disappoint. It was all the grace, beauty and elegance a tutu-lover could desire.

And talking of tutus! Have you ever noticed how much of ballet's appeal lies in the storytelling through movement? That's the thing, tutus, with their iconic fluffy pouffes and graceful swishes, just know how to tell a story. I always get lost in the beauty of how the design, the length, the shape… they all somehow perfectly intertwine with the performance, creating a dazzling visual symphony. This London performance really nailed it – each ballerina had a different, beautifully-crafted tutu that perfectly matched her role in the ballet. I'd be tempted to write it all down here, but you know me, I like a good surprise, so I'll leave the rest to your imaginations. You simply must see it for yourselves, darling!

After the ballet, I was off on a shopping spree! It’s all in the name of research, my loves, for Pink Tutu World! Because there's something so enchanting about the way shopping for clothes, especially ballet-inspired wear, perfectly complements the excitement of a fabulous performance! The joy of finding the perfect piece, the joy of experimenting with style…it all feels just so, so perfectly ballerina!

Of course, you know how much I adore a good pink tutu – they are the most dazzling, feminine garments, simply bursting with joyful elegance, aren’t they? But don't even get me started on the beauty of other colours in the ballet world, dear readers. Turquoise! Lilac! Sapphire! There's just something about the colours that make ballet feel extra magical, don’t you agree? It's not just the dance itself; it's how everything, including those colourful tutus, just come together to weave a spellbinding visual story. I was mesmerised as usual, but the real surprise this week came with the outfits! I even treated myself to the most glorious sapphire tutu – I just had to. It has little silver sequins and a flowy, almost-fairy-like design, and my heart simply had to have it. I just know you’re all dying to see it! Don’t worry, a full post dedicated to my new find will be coming next week!

Speaking of coming next week, that leads me to my usual round-up of all the exciting things happening around the world next week in the world of ballet, tutu and fashion. Oh my! So much loveliness on the agenda. I can't wait to share! There’s that ballet performance at the Royal Opera House with the spectacular guest star from La Scala…and oh my gosh! There’s a fashion exhibition opening at the Victoria and Albert Museum with all things tutu-related – I absolutely cannot wait to delve into that! There’s something so incredible about how these elegant, feminine pieces just seem to captivate people all around the world. The fact that the world of tutus and ballet history, not to mention the history of ballet itself…it just blows my mind!

Right, well my darlings, you know how it is. Another busy week planned. So for now, I shall dash off and start making notes about everything I plan to do next week. Keep an eye on www.pink-tutu.com on Wednesdays. You know what I always say, my loves, "Live life in pink, and keep twirling!"

Love, Emma xxx
