Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind adventure on Planet Earth, where I discovered that tutus are indeed the universal language of love! This week's journey took me to the stunning, ever-so-slightly chilly city of Derbyshire, England, a beautiful place right here on Earth! It was utterly delightful!
Iām feeling so grateful, and oh-so-sparkly, to be back in my favourite pink tutu (the one with the little pink bow! So divine). Iām posting on my Wednesday blog today to tell you about a rather smashing time in Derbyshire. I managed to snag a rather grand private spaceship this time. I always find it fun to find a new way of travelling and seeing new worlds.
The Wonders of Derbyshire:
Derbyshire was everything I hoped it would be: quaint, full of charm, with history and tradition around every corner. I made sure I had time for a spot of high tea - nothing like proper Earl Grey with clotted cream to fuel a busy ballet schedule.
I am completely smitten with Chatsworth House. Oh my! The gardens, the grandeur, the beautiful colours - just dreamy! Imagine me waltzing through those manicured grounds with a sweeping, lilac tulle tutu ā sheer perfection. I have some divine photos I might share next week if youāre lucky! But of course, thereās only so much a girl can fit in her carry-on! š
The Peak District National Park is absolutely captivating, with rolling hills and picturesque villages. I found a charming shop full of hand-knitted crafts. The lovely woman was delighted to see me in my pink tutu. She even had a spare pink yarn that she gifted to me! A souvenir that I'll forever treasure!
The Allure of Dance on Earth:
Of course, my true passion for dance always leads me to find incredible ballet experiences. On this trip, I fell in love with the Derby Theatre. Itās a charming place with a rich history and a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary performances. Theyāre a perfect space to feel the passion for the art form in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I caught a breathtaking rendition of "Giselle," which made my heart soar. The sheer elegance of the dancers in their classic tutus left me breathless. And speaking of tutus, dear readers, imagine the absolute joy when I walked in wearing my vibrant pink number! Everyoneās eyes were instantly drawn to me - just as a graceful pink butterfly catches the attention in a meadow.
My trip wouldnāt be complete without a little bit of ātutu spotting!ā It turned out that Derbyshire is quite the hub for dance ā there are some amazing schools with talented budding ballerinas ready to take on the world. Seeing their shining eyes and enthusiasm made me remember why I love ballet so much. Itās not just about the art; itās about the joy of self-expression and the magic of movement!
A Fashion Frenzy:
Being the fabulous ballerina that I am, you just know that a trip wouldn't be complete without some stellar shopping. It was the perfect opportunity to find some new, utterly fabulous tutu additions to my wardrobe.
Let's just say, the āVintage Threadsā store in Matlock had some absolute gems ā I couldn't resist! I scored a beautiful, long vintage tutu with exquisite layers of soft tulle. The pale pink shade is utterly divine. And letās not forget a little pink fascinator from a boutique on St. Peterās Street ā a touch of Parisian chic to compliment my new tutu.
The Power of Pink:
Oh, my darlings! This trip has only strengthened my belief: pink is more than just a colour ā itās a universal feeling! I can't say I saw many pink tutus in Derbyshire ā thatās what we call an opportunity for pink tutu evangelism. There's plenty of work to be done on Planet Earth!
But there was a sweet little girl I met on the train who was wearing a pink sparkly jumper - now thatās a sign that the universe is working towards pink tutu unity!
And you know what? On the return trip, my pink tutu became a topic of discussion ā a sparkling topic of discussion, of course! It became the perfect icebreaker with fellow travelers! I canāt tell you how delighted I was when an old gentleman gave me the biggest smile and said, āWell, thatās certainly one way to stand out!ā He didnāt need to see my travel itinerary to understand my passion for a good pink tutu. š
*Next Weekās Adventure: *
Next week, I'm planning a trip to... drum roll ... the glittering city of London! The ultimate playground for a ballet aficionado like myself! Itās said to be the capital of all things fashion, theatre, and art, so my fellow ballerina fans know I will be sure to check out all of London's finest shows, and most beautiful boutiques, all for your entertainment and inspiration. You better believe I'll share it all with you on next weekās blog post at www.pink-tutu.com ā on Wednesday, of course! Don't forget, pink is the power of love!
See you soon!
Love,
Emma āØ
