Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu World! I'm writing to you from the dizzying heights of my spaceship, the Twirling Comet - which, yes, has a full-size tutu mounted on the bow - en route to Planet Earth!
You guys are gonna love what's going on this week. Firstly, let me tell you about my whirlwind weekend at the Royal Opera House. A truly glamorous affair!
Now, before I spill all the delicious details of "Swan Lake" and my fabulous new tutus from Covent Garden, let me address the elephant in the room - my last week on Pluto, the Ice Queen of the Outer Solar System.
My adventures on Pluto were truly extraordinary, just as the planet itself. It’s icy blue, sprinkled with silver and a whisper of pink. My fellow travelers might have been fascinated by the icy plains and celestial bodies of Pluto but let's be honest: it's a place begging for some fashion intervention!
You see, darling, Pluto needs more colour. Much, much more! They’re all about the deep, cold blues and greys with just a touch of metallic, which is, frankly, a tad bleak, if you ask me. I'm trying to do my part to liven things up! On my second day there, I organised a "Tutu Tuesdays" flash mob in the center of Pluto’s largest city, Pluto City, featuring the local children in all sorts of delightful pink creations. Oh, it was truly sparkling and the locals embraced the colour wholeheartedly! Let's just say the frosty faces had a touch of pinkness that wouldn't disappear any time soon, wouldn't you say? 😉
Let’s not forget the Pluto-vian fashion shows. It was fascinating! For some inexplicable reason, the fashion on Pluto centres around heavy furs and bulky garments with long, sweeping train dresses. It all felt very “Lord of the Rings" if you know what I mean, which I found to be incredibly inspiring! Imagine: Snow White meeting Legolas on the silver landscape with an intricate design woven into the snow. Such fabulous material for the perfect tutu-clad intergalactic fairytale! And don't get me started on their jewellery - it's an entirely unique, sparkling gem made from their glacial blue stone. Quite breathtaking. And frankly, I may have managed to purchase a whole shipment of these sparkling beauties for the ultimate Pink Tutu World Collection. But shhh! 🤫 You heard it here first.
Now, back to my little jaunt to London's Royal Opera House! "Swan Lake" is timeless, simply spectacular! This is why we need more ballet across the universe, isn't it? Ballet transcends language, cultural divides, even cosmic boundaries, bringing us together in the joy of pure expression and elegance. I love the grand leaps and ethereal movements; the sweeping elegance of the choreography just sweeps me off my feet! This performance was absolutely divinely delicious! I don't know how else to put it. I also saw the most gorgeous tutu collection. Not all pink, no, some are the deepest blues you've ever seen with silver shimmer on the hem, all the shades of the milky way - just exquisite. They say these particular tutus were designed for "the galaxy" so let's call that "fashion history" in the making!
Oh, did I tell you? I was invited to a pre-show gala dinner, hosted by Tutu Queen herself - Svetlana - and let's just say it was pink perfection.
I love it! All I ever wanted was a way to share my love for the beauty and joy of the ballet and, well, let's face it, some gorgeous tutus with everyone, especially the universe!
