Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post #1209

Wednesday, June 27th, 2018

Helloooo my darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the glitzy and glamorous Planet Aurora! I've got to tell you, that celestial ballet was simply divine.

You know, I'm starting to think that when it comes to ballet, Planet Earth doesn't hold a candle to the rest of the cosmos. Everywhere I travel, there's an absolute explosion of tutus and dazzling talent, and let me tell you, it's enough to make a girl's head spin (or should I say, pirouette?).

Now, I'm a Derbyshire girl through and through, so let's face it, my love for ballet started in a humble studio, not on some intergalactic stage. My memories are full of the scratchy carpet of my childhood dance classes and the smell of hairspray (a scent that's practically synonymous with ballet, don't you think?) But those days were filled with pure magic. We used to pretend our tights were moonbeams, and our little ballerina shoes were spaceships taking us to galaxies unknown. I guess I never really left those childhood dreams behind, and here I am now, dancing across the universe, one pink tutu at a time.

Oh, and before we dive into this post, a little something for my loyal followers! 🤫 Today's blog post marks the 3 millionth reader who's taken a peek at www.pink-tutu.com, a number that quite honestly leaves me breathless. Thank you, from the bottom of my dancing heart, for joining me on this amazing journey. It truly means the world! (And maybe a little bit of another planet…hehe!)

Now, let's rewind to last week, shall we? Remember the shimmering pink tutu I wore for the celestial ballet on Planet Aurora? It was designed by the talented team at 'Stars in Motion' and I felt like a constellation of sparkle under those twinkling aurora borealis. Let's just say, my outfit stole the show, even amongst the amazing aurora-infused dancers and the glittering constellation sets! The choreography, a celestial ballet called "The Cosmic Dance," was so mesmerizing; it made me want to twirl all through space. It's safe to say that after seeing a cosmic performance like that, Earthly ballet seems just a tad grounded…not that I'm complaining. We'll talk more about the Aurora dance company next week!

Speaking of planet earth… I can't forget to tell you all about the showstopping performances that took place in my very own London this week! The Royal Opera House, oh my… The production of "Swan Lake" had my head in the clouds! There's nothing like seeing a legendary classic, complete with the quintessential swan-shaped tutu. You know, you never really notice how perfectly a ballerina moves until you're captivated by a real showstopper. Seeing the way they flow across the stage is breathtaking.

After the show, a couple of my ballet besties and I, naturally, found ourselves on the glittering streets of London, doing some much-needed shopping. (Is it just me, or does a good pair of sparkly shoes go with absolutely any tutu?) 🛍 We fell head-over-heels for a vintage store called “Tutus & Tea.” I must have tried on ten tutus, and my darling friend Felicity bought a darling little pair of antique ballet slippers that were covered in crystals. Honestly, we could have spent the rest of the day in there, lost in a world of fabric and history!

Now, if you’re on the lookout for the perfect pink tutu for your next cosmic adventure, make sure you visit my "Pink Tutu Shop" on www.pink-tutu.com! I'm adding new designs all the time and I promise, it'll have the perfect one for every celestial event imaginable! ✨

As a quick side note, remember how I told you that I love a bit of ballet history? Well, after my whirlwind London visit, I made a detour to the V&A Museum, just for a little inspiration. Let's just say I left the museum with a newfound appreciation for the evolution of the tutu. They have a collection of amazing, incredibly intricate tutus! Did you know that early ballet dancers often used to wear tight-fitting breeches instead of skirts? I wonder if the "pants-versus-skirts" argument has ever popped up in intergalactic history? Perhaps I should ask a fellow ballerina on Planet Centauri!

A Little Slice of My Pink-Tutu Life

Before I go, here's a little sneak peek into what my week looks like when I'm not whizzing around the universe:

  • Mondays are for ballet rehearsals. It’s crucial to stay in top shape, even when I’m between galaxies. My motto? Practice makes perfect (and even more pirouettes)!
  • Tuesdays are for the glamorous world of ballet shows. It's a bit like the planet Earth’s version of intergalactic ballet, right? But hey, I don’t discriminate, good ballet is good ballet, no matter the venue!
  • Wednesdays are my blogging days! You can always find me here on my trusty laptop, sharing all my adventures, and making sure the world knows about the pink tutu revolution!
  • Thursdays are all about learning new dance moves, whether it's ballet or, let's say, ballroom dancing. Because let's face it, the best kind of dancing is a variety of twirls and leaps!
  • Fridays are reserved for spending time with my ballet besties. You know, maybe a little "afternoon tea" followed by some dance choreography discussions!
  • Saturdays are for relaxing and enjoying a well-deserved glass of champagne and watching classic ballets.
  • Sundays are for recharging, dreaming of pink tutus, and maybe a bit of sketching for the upcoming week!

Now, darlings, go forth and twirl with passion. 💫 And remember, every single one of you deserves to be wearing a beautiful pink tutu!

Until next Wednesday,

Emma xx
