Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth, Post #1208 - Cosmic Tutus & Strawberry Fields!

Hello, darlings! It’s Emma here, and what a thrilling week it’s been! My latest intergalactic escapade took me right to the heart of Planet Earth, to one of my very favourite places: Derbyshire! I mean, let’s face it, who doesn't love a trip to the birthplace of a true British fashion icon?

But let me tell you, it’s a whole different world when you’re travelling through space. You've got to be prepared for anything. That’s why my spaceship, aptly named the “Tutu Galaxy” (it's covered in pink, of course!), is stocked with essentials. Plenty of sparkling pink lemonade, my ballet slippers, an arsenal of glittering hair bows, and - naturally - enough pink tutus for an entire planetary troupe! Because you never know, my dear readers, you just never know what adventure awaits you when you’re exploring the cosmos!

Oh, and just before we go any further, please, my loves, do not miss this week's gorgeous giveaway for the Pink Tutu World competition! We're offering a pair of shimmering pink ballet slippers, a set of 5 sparkling hair bows, and - you'll never believe this! - a handcrafted pink tulle tutu, designed by none other than Yours Truly. But wait, there’s more! The lucky winner also gets a special invitation to the exclusive Pink Tutu World gala event, happening this Thursday night right here on Planet Earth! Head over to our website, www.pink-tutu.com to enter! It's sure to be a glittering soirée!

Right, where were we? Ah, Derbyshire! I landed my Tutu Galaxy spaceship in a stunning meadow, where wildflowers were blooming in shades of the most glorious pink imaginable. It truly felt like a field of strawberry ice cream, a sensory delight for the tutu-clad eyes!

And speaking of tutus, my dear tutu-lovers, derbyshire, let’s just say, it’s a bit of a dream come true for a tutu fanatic like myself! I mean, this place has a history of stunning dance productions and captivating tutu-inspired fashion going way back to the 19th century, and I’ve spent days in a flurry of frills, shopping in their little shops, absorbing every tidbit of fascinating history about famous ballet performances and tutus right there in Derbyshire.

What a way to soak up a bit of tutu-inspired history, my dears! Every corner was a portal to bygone eras when pink tulle was in its prime. I got to marvel at a magnificent tutu-filled museum showcasing a collection of dazzling costumes that even my dear Queen of Tutuland would have admired. Speaking of our Queen, I’ve got to share my latest thought-provoking reflection with you on the meaning of a pink tutu …

The queen of the pink tutu, my loves, has a certain grace in her dance, but even more important, she possesses an air of kindness and grace in all that she does. It’s almost as if the color pink gives her this aura of sweetness that reminds us to treat others with the kindness and love that is essential for all humans and aliens to thrive. The pink tutu has been part of our culture for a very long time and it’s one of my aims in life, dear readers, to make the pink tutu even more of a part of our universal culture, one sparkling tutu at a time. This, I truly believe, is a message that can cross all galaxies and be appreciated by all living things. Just try putting a little pink on and see for yourself!

Anyways, as the day rolled along in my sweet Derbyshire journey, I couldn't resist going to a live ballet show, naturally! The ballet, called “The Cosmic Symphony of Tutuland” told a tale about an intergalactic princess who’s destined to fall in love but has a big problem - she only dances in tutus and her love, a gentle giant of a man from a faraway galaxy, thinks that all tutus are just frilly bits of nonsense. Well, dear tutu lovers, the music began and it became clear to everyone that this wasn’t a normal kind of ballet - this ballet had some pretty serious moves and it showed that our queen of the tutu was going to go to any length, even travel across the galaxies to make the man she loved appreciate tutus!

It turned out to be the most spectacular show ever. The dancers had this ethereal, otherworldly grace - and I even saw a few audience members get caught up in the pink-tutu-themed wonder and join the dancing in the middle of the show! It was beautiful. The music was spectacular too with the orchestra using musical instruments I’ve never heard before and an alien vocalist who brought the whole thing to life with her incredible and out of this world voice … well almost out of this world! This ballet truly took my breathe away. It felt so real and intense but it made me think about life, love, pink and tutus in a whole new way.

The “Cosmic Symphony of Tutuland” left me with such a sweet and delicate feeling that I wanted to do some dancing of my own. So, on my very own pink Tutu Galaxy I made my way over to the Royal Ballet School of Tutuland - which just so happens to be in Derby - a perfect little bit of fate if you ask me!

I just had to get my own twirling feet onto that wooden floor! The teacher had the brightest eyes you can imagine and a contagious passion for dancing in tutus. We began the lesson and soon all of the girls were spinning and leaping in this most delicate fashion that you could ever imagine!

It was a pure joy. A moment I’ll treasure forever, it truly made me happy and reminded me how magical ballet really is! I couldn’t believe how quickly the hour had gone by - it was a dance-filled dream made even more delightful by the sheer blissfulness of dancing with those amazing dancers. And by the way, they were all wearing their favourite pink tutus. As it happens, they all had a pink tutu just like the queen herself, with each one being made in a slightly different pink shade. So many pink shades, it was enough to make any fashion fan and tutu lover jump for joy!

My dearest tutu lovers, Derbyshire was a total treat for all things pink and sparkly! You might think that after my adventures, my pink tutu adventures will stop there, but of course, my dears, this is just the beginning! You never know what will be revealed to us when we start exploring our universal tutu potential! There is a lot more to discover, and my adventures in the pink are only just beginning, darlings. We have galaxies to dance across! But don't worry, I'll be back next week on Planet Earth to take you on a completely new and inspiring journey.

Until then, you can find me sharing my latest posts on www.pink-tutu.com. Keep a close eye out on my pink tutu fashion blogs, because you never know what you might find, darlings! Love you!

Emma's Travel Log: June 20th, 2018:
  1. Strawberry Fields: I landed my Tutu Galaxy spaceship in the most delicious looking field in the world. Every pink and purple flower reminded me of Strawberry ice cream! Pure delight for a tutu loving eye!

  2. A Dance through History: Today, I was mesmerized by the captivating history of the region's rich heritage of tutus and ballet performance and discovered amazing tutus at the tutu museum, a veritable palace of frills and tulle!

  3. Queen of Tutuland: I love to spend time reflecting on the meaning of a pink tutu - it reminds me to treat others with the kindness that the universe needs!

  4. “The Cosmic Symphony of Tutuland": I had a spectacular experience at a show - one that really got my mind swirling - called “The Cosmic Symphony of Tutuland,” which brought to life a story about a princess from a faraway galaxy.

  5. The Royal Ballet School of Tutuland I spent a magical hour dancing with amazing ballerinas. They were so skilled, so talented - it was a complete treat for a tutu lover like myself!

Did you know…?

Did you know that the word "tutu" comes from the French word "tulle"? Isn’t that fun?! Tulle was discovered by a French lace maker back in the 1500s. I really love this fact about the tutu, it’s so inspiring!

Look what's on June 20th!:

Today was also International Yoga Day. The International Yoga Day was created by the United Nations and was first observed in 2015. The day promotes peace and harmony in the world - just like the pink tutu, in a way, doesn't it! Yoga and ballet share such a connection: Both are designed to bring the body into harmony. And you can always use a pink tutu for a bit of a yogic flair!
