Hello darlings! Emma here, reporting live from… well, Earth actually, for once. After an absolutely whirlwind trip to Andromeda last week, it's good to be back on home turf! But even a good ol' fashioned Derbyshire lass like myself needs a break sometimes from the hectic intergalactic ballet schedule.
As always, I've got so much to tell you about! You know how much I adore a bit of vintage tutu history, so let's get straight into it, shall we?
This week's post is dedicated to all the wonderful events happening right here on good old Planet Earth. Who needs spaceships and intergalactic tours when you can enjoy the amazing performances happening in your own backyard, right? So grab your fanciest pink tutu, darlings, because it's time to talk Earthly Ballet!
It's All About The Classics
I had a rather delightful afternoon at the Royal Opera House this week. You see, the glorious English National Ballet were performing one of my absolute favourites, “Giselle”, and let me tell you, the tutu action was on point! The intricate, layered tutus, the sheer volume of tulle, it was like stepping straight into a fairytale! Not to mention the dancing - absolutely breathtaking, every twirl and leap perfectly executed.
And did I mention the clothes?! Honestly, darlings, even off the stage, the theatre is a treasure trove of fashion inspiration. Think decadent vintage furs, slinky velvet gowns, and an array of dazzling hats that would make even the most jaded fashionista swoon. I managed to snag a gorgeous antique broach from a charming vendor on the way out – just my style, of course, with delicate pink sapphires and an intricate floral design!
Sharing The Love: Ballet For All
And speaking of ballet, have you seen the incredible work happening in my home county of Derbyshire? A new ballet school popped up in Buxton – the perfect spot to unleash those inner ballerinas! The school even offers classes specifically for children, giving them a chance to experience the joy of dance from a young age.
I have to say, seeing the joy on their little faces as they pirouette across the floor makes my heart melt. It reminds me why I do what I do – inspiring the next generation of ballet enthusiasts. One day, we'll all be wearing tutus, darling! One tutu at a time!
Shop Talk: Tutus and Beyond!
Speaking of tutus, I simply had to share my latest fashion find with you all. Imagine, a sparkly pink tutu adorned with delicate floral embroidery - perfect for a casual interstellar picnic with the girls (well, perhaps not casual, more... interstellar glam?). You know me, a little bit of sparkle always elevates a look, especially when paired with the perfect pair of platform shoes (a definite requirement for the intergalactic playground)!
This weekend, I'm hitting up London for some serious tutu shopping. Now, you know that finding a tutu with the perfect level of sparkle isn't easy, but a girl's gotta try! My intuition tells me a few new acquisitions will be needed to keep up with my ever-expanding cosmic tutu wardrobe. I might just have to invest in a new spaceship too, just for extra cargo space for my tulle treasure trove!
What's Coming Next
And that, darlings, is all for this week! I hope you enjoyed this peek into my whirlwind ballet life here on Earth. Don’t forget to catch up with me on www.pink-tutu.com next Wednesday for a whole new dose of ballet, space travel, and all things pink.
Until then, keep your spirits high, twirl often, and may your tutus always be sparkly!
Lots of love,
Emma x
