Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth – August 15th, 2018 - Post #1216

Oh my darling readers, welcome back to Pink Tutu World! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another blog post from yours truly, Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-clad intergalactic ballet enthusiast!

The stars have been aligning perfectly, and I've had the absolute joy of exploring a little closer to home this week, right here on planet Earth. Yep, after a whirlwind tour of the Andromeda galaxy last week, I'm back on home soil – though, honestly, a tutu-wearing ballerina never truly feels out of place anywhere in the universe.

Let's start with the exciting news: I've been practicing my ballet steps under the watchful eye of Madame Dubois, the most fabulous ballet mistress this side of the Milky Way (and maybe even the other side too!), in preparation for a rather spectacular performance I have planned for later this year! The secret is out: Emma's back, and she's bringing her own dazzling, pink-tutu-filled intergalactic ballet extravaganza to Earth! Get ready for pirouettes and pointe shoes galore – and just a sprinkle of cosmic sparkle for good measure, of course!

Speaking of good measure, you won’t believe the fabulous vintage tutu I found while rummaging through the dusty corners of a Parisian antique store just the other day! This glorious creation dates back to the early days of ballet, a beautiful swirling dream in pale pink chiffon with layers upon layers of ruffles and delicate hand-sewn embellishments. Honestly, it practically screamed "take me on a space adventure!" Now, what could be more fun than taking a relic from ballet's golden age to new and exciting corners of the galaxy?

But even in my interstellar wanderings, the heart of a ballerina always stays rooted in the ground – literally! This week, I found myself drawn back to Derbyshire, my little corner of paradise back on Earth. The quaint English countryside, the gentle breeze rustling the leaves, the sweet smell of freshly baked scones in the local bakery – there's nothing quite like home, even for an intergalactic explorer like myself!

And, of course, no trip to Derbyshire would be complete without a visit to the breathtaking Chatsworth House. Imagine: stunning gardens, stately halls, and oh-so-much history! They say Chatsworth was once visited by a young Marie Antoinette, and I can only imagine her dancing with her sisters under the chandeliers in those grand ballroom halls. Maybe that's where she got the idea for her own iconic white tutu for the ball at the French court!

Speaking of dancing, it just wouldn't be a proper ballet blog without some insights into the fascinating world of dance! Did you know that ballet shoes weren't always made with satin? In the early days, dancers wore shoes crafted from sturdy leather – think boots! It takes some real commitment to twirl in leather boots, doesn't it? Luckily, the ballet world has evolved, embracing satin, pointe shoes, and of course, that ever-important pink tutu!

As I pen these words, I can practically smell the scent of lavender fields blooming in the Derbyshire air. The aroma evokes a calming sensation, a perfect compliment to a peaceful, tranquil life on Earth. But even with the countryside bliss, my soul craves the shimmer and shine of a stage under the glittering galaxy.

So, what will I be wearing at my next Earthbound ballet performance? You’ll just have to stay tuned and check in next week, darling readers, for another fabulous Pink Tutu World blog! And remember, always spread the love of ballet, wear a tutu, and embrace the endless possibilities of this glorious universe.

See you next week, my sweet stars!

Love,

Emma

Fashion Fix: This week, I’m loving a classic vintage look: A timeless cream silk dress paired with my most beloved vintage pink tutu. To add a little bit of planetary sparkle, I’m accessorising with a statement piece of glittering galactic jewellery (think stardust-studded rings and space-inspired earrings!).

Pink Tutu World Tip: Did you know that Earthlings can now get custom-made tutus with their name sewn onto them in fancy script? Just like all the grand old ballerinas of yesteryear! I highly recommend the company TutuDreams based in London, England - a perfect mix of fairytale-like enchantment and contemporary styling.

Intergalactic Itinerary: Today, August 15th, is a big day for theatre lovers on planet Earth! Tonight is the premier performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre in London! What a dreamy show, and oh, what amazing tutus they must be using in the performance! If you’re in London, you absolutely must go see this play, darlings. It’s an experience of a lifetime!

And don’t forget to watch this space, my little cosmic cupcakes, for details about my spectacular ballet performance later this year! This time I’m taking it to a whole other level with even more shimmering sequins, magical tutus, and interstellar ballet moves that will blow your mind. You won’t want to miss it!
