Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Blog Post #1227

Hello darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! And guess what? Your favourite ballerina-extraordinaire, Emma, is back with a whole heap of tutu-tastic news from my latest intergalactic adventure. This time, my dear friends, I’m talking Planet Earth.

Oh, how I adore that little blue planet! So much history, so much style, and so many amazing tutus! Don’t worry, I wasn't going to actually step foot in the Big Smoke this time (London traffic, let’s be honest… a bit too much like leaping in a traffic jam for this ballerina’s liking). But, being a Pink Tutu World travel-savvy gal, I managed to have a glorious time in the land of fairies, football, and, of course, ballet!

The Date: 31st October - A Day For Magical Adventures!

Speaking of fairies, this particular trip landed me right on Halloween, which is basically the 31st October for the uninitiated, on Earth. It seems to be a bit like our Cosmic Carnival, you know, all kinds of wonderful, mystical dress-up and exciting parades. I absolutely adored seeing all the spooky-themed costumes! A bit creepy-cute, for my liking. There are so many amazing talented costume designers on Planet Earth! So creative and, cough, cough... occasionally a little too literal with the horror! Let’s just say that some of them really scared the pink tutu right off of me. Honestly, there are definitely some costume designers out there with far too much imagination, especially for this ballerina!

My Big London Adventure… Well, Kinda

To tell the truth, my time in the UK wasn't really the whole "getting off the spaceship and jumping into the crowds" type of visit this time around. Instead, I spent my little visit experiencing all the wondrous magic of the great Royal Opera House in London. That's right, the most iconic ballet and opera venue in the whole country. Imagine, the Royal Ballet! Oh my gosh, it was absolutely heavenly.

It felt so surreal! It’s one of the grandest ballet stages in the whole galaxy, truly bejewelled with glamour, and their dancers - wow, I mean seriously. They have the kind of dedication and elegance you just can’t find anywhere else. They’re like magical creatures, these dancers! They twirl and leap so perfectly that they truly feel as though they've risen above the limitations of gravity and landed right on the tip of my pink tutu! It was the most exquisite ballet I've witnessed this side of the celestial event horizon. And speaking of tutus - their costumes! Absolutely magnificent, dazzling and so, so creative. All in pink, of course! I must say, the sheer amount of silk in that Royal Opera House... let's just say it's probably got all the galaxies covered!

I must say, this little ballerina-tastic visit made me realise all the ballet and dance theatres back on Planet Earth are truly blessed to have such an amazing artistic inspiration - it makes me wonder, how could they ever improve upon perfection? But hey, I always believe that every day can bring something even more divine to my tutus.

The Secret to Keeping My Travels Tutu-fully Funded

This little side trip didn’t come free, I must confess, though I love Planet Earth so much I wouldn’t change a thing. You see, after a couple of unpaid space travel adventures, this little space bunny was left slightly short on galactic travel allowance - whoops! So I had to find another way to fund my passion, to put my skills to use for the greater good, of course. Enter, the magic of... ballet performance!

So this Pink Tutu World gal was thrilled to pieces to finally find some lovely stage lights (and an incredibly patient crew of earthlings!) that let me strut my stuff at a charity event in a pink tutu, you bet! And I'm delighted to report I managed to get a handsomely sufficient donation to fund the trip. Tutus for travel? Now that’s the ultimate fairytale ending! It was so magical, seeing all the guests and sponsors fall in love with ballet all over again. I think I even saw a couple of the audience try to take their own little pirouette at one point!

And hey, it’s not all about money either. This little ballerina's gotta give something back, even when she’s enjoying her travel experiences!

On Tutu Shopping: Earth-Style Elegance!

Speaking of being blessed, Planet Earth has some incredible, eye-catching and vibrant clothing designers. You know I just had to have a little retail therapy at one of the most famous London boutiques! Let me tell you, my pink tutu wasn’t the only one that did a little dance, spinning round and round at the prospect of all the gorgeous things. The amount of shimmer, sequins and vibrant pink on display? It just had to come home with me! I may have broken my space-travelling-ballot luggage, I'll admit… it’s not often this Pink Tutu World blogger sees a deal too good to pass up! And just to sweeten the deal even more, my friends on Planet Earth offered me some absolutely stunning fabric to use for a whole new pink tutu - the one and only Tutu Galaxy Sparkle! Oh, it was just heavenly - think swirling clouds of sequins, sparkling like all the planets combined!

It seems every day here is another new, sparkling tutu opportunity in some fashionista’s shop window. Now that's my kind of Planet Earth, full of wonder, colour and style. It's practically impossible not to feel utterly joyful and exuberant, especially when it comes to the ultimate tutus, all shimmering with an absolute abundance of *pink.

From Ballet Schools to Ballet Street: An Inspiring Peek into Planet Earth’s World of Dance

Okay, my darling tutus, we’ve had so much fashion that I think it's time for a bit of Planet Earth culture - let’s take a little peek behind the scenes at the ballet classes on this gorgeous, gorgeous planet!

You know that lovely feeling you get when you finally find that perfect little ballet school? I went and discovered just that, here in London - it's almost as though these Planet Earth-folk have discovered a special kind of balletic magic. It wasn’t your typical 'step-in-time-school-classroom' vibe. Nope, this place was overflowing with that ‘let's be bold, let’s dance in the streets and paint our tutu on’ energy! It had the most wonderful open space and amazing oversized windows, allowing natural light in! It's as though they’re inviting everyone in to discover this fantastic ballet world… I'm pretty sure some of the dancers actually saw me arrive through the window and *threw their arms open in absolute adoration! Now, I might be biased with this one. We do love a grand entrance!

After watching some amazing little ballerina’s rehearse in the gorgeous atrium-like space they’ve got, you just have to marvel at the creativity, passion, and utter artistry that shines from these children from their eyes! There's nothing quite like witnessing children falling in love with the joy of ballet. Honestly, they weren’t just twirling around and leaping like little celestial bodies in space; it was pure magic and enchantment, like tiny planets swirling around their sun! And let’s be real, it makes me wonder… how many of them will have a tutu just like mine some day?

I swear, some of these children might even be good enough to compete against me someday!

Now, let’s get back to the topic! They even had the most incredible street dancing at their Little Ballerinas dance performance class… well, don’t tell my fellow galaxy space explorers, I was completely glued to the whole event. My pink tutu may have moved to a more comfortable space… I may have jumped a little bit, leaped and twirled a couple of times... oh, well, who could blame me? That dancefloor was made for this Pink Tutu World blogger to be noticed! It seems they know that every time they twirl, they leave behind a trail of tutu magic to make you leap out of your spaceship to watch!

Oh, speaking of leaping, Planet Earth really has that whole ‘leap and twirl' thing down to an absolute art. They do a stunning ballet street-dance performance… or is that street-dance ballet performance... my goodness, it all blends into a lovely and artistic blur when you’re so entranced by it! Think ballet, meet modern dance - or was that modern dance meets ballet, dancing like you just found out about gravity? It was all too exciting and wonderfully inspiring, my little tutus.

I simply had to get on the dance floor. No doubt there were a couple of shocked faces when this Pink Tutu World blogger jumped into the middle... they’d just *have to learn how to leap!

Ballet: History, Heritage & Tutus... A Trip into Planet Earth’s Fabulous History

So, of course, no Planet Earth ballet adventure is complete without a bit of ballet history! Who could imagine my trip wouldn’t involve at least one journey to one of Planet Earth’s wonderful museums? And yes, my little tutu friends, this pink tutu loving blogger *made her way into a museum to check out their *tutu history!* They actually had some real ancient relics of dance costumes and all things ballet-related... even if you aren’t an old ballet historian like me (okay, maybe just me!), it's all a little... magical to look at. Honestly, how the heck did they do it? What magical craft techniques are at play here?!

Oh, Planet Earth really had some fantastically dazzling tutus, but the story was so much better than I'd ever imagined... just take their little ‘pointe shoe’ history! They had pointed toe shoes from way back… when I’m talking way back, I’m talking even *before *ballet as we know it! You've just got to appreciate how those amazing dancers have evolved with their footwear.

One thing that’s been keeping this little Pink Tutu World blogger *really excited, are the Ballet shoes. Let me tell you, this Planet Earth footwear - it really has some fantastic innovation, when it comes to that magical combination of style and comfort for performing in a tutu. Even with the shoes they wear for all the street dance shows... oh, how my heart twirled for all that! So it seems that they are truly dedicated to taking this artform as seriously as I do. The dance-inspired designs of footwear… the shoes alone are worthy of a special place on any ballerina’s fashionable-shoes-and-tutus-only space station.

And let’s just take a moment for the ballet history of all things tutu! It’s a real trip! Honestly, you need a tutu from Planet Earth to be a true tutu traveller. And don't let them tell you that Planet Earth's ballet culture doesn't date back to the beginning of tutu history - their love of ballet has truly been swirling and twirling in their cultural air for centuries. Just think about it! Even Planet Earth's oldest Ballet shoes look amazing with all the sparkle they have on them. I’ve just got to get my hands on some tutu fabric like that. And to think… it’s probably all just a mere speck of dust in the universe!

So, it's not just about wearing a pink tutu to travel across galaxies. This little Pink Tutu World blogger can't help but find herself obsessed with learning about the world's cultural and historical legacy, and that *tutu story. After all, we all have our reasons for travelling across the Universe and *twirling, twirling, twirling to get our fix!

And yes, dear tutus, I just knew it… a whole tutu-loving ballerina with a galaxy to travel. No time for rest and relaxation for *this Pink Tutu World Blogger! There’s still *so much more out there for this little tutu gal to discover in this amazing Universe!

I really hope you enjoyed this little Pink Tutu World adventure... Don’t forget to keep it pink and stylish, and remember, every day’s a good day for a new adventure in your pink tutu! And keep those fabulous tutus twinkling for next Wednesday, my little tutus!

I can’t wait to tell you all about my next intergalactic tutu journey!

Until then… Tutu La-la!
