Hello, darling dears! π It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu World blog post! This week, we're going right back to basics - back to Planet Earth!
Blog Post #1228
This week I found myself drawn back to home turf, right here in dear old Derbyshire, England! I know I've been off jet-setting all over the cosmos, with my spaceship taking me from the shimmering, crystalline oceans of Neptune to the scorching deserts of Mars. But let's be honest, sometimes, you just crave the comforting familiarity of a cuppa and a good old fashioned ballet show!
This Wednesday's performance was a dream. Imagine it: The Derby Theatre, buzzing with anticipation, the twinkling lights casting that special glow on everyone's faces. The curtains rise and a symphony of pink swishes through the air as the dancers pirouette and arabesque with grace and beauty, all while wearing the most gorgeous tutus I've ever seen! It was truly magical, darling! β¨
And what would a Pink Tutu World blog post be without a sprinkle of fashion, right? Let me tell you, the costume designer outdid themselves this time. It was a mix of contemporary styles with a classic twist - think sleek black leotards and swirling pink chiffon tutus. And can you believe there was a little splash of metallic gold here and there, just to add that extra touch of glitz! π
And talking about costumesβ¦ have you ever wondered what it's like to step inside a real life tutu shop? I took a little trip to the Derbyshire Dance Emporium, and I was just blown away! I mean, rows upon rows of tutus - all different shapes, colours, and sizes - it was simply heaven! My favourite was this absolutely divine pale pink tulle tutu, just begging to be twirled on a grand stage. Let me tell you, I was practically skipping around the shop with excitement. π€©
Of course, no trip to Derbyshire is complete without a delicious afternoon tea at one of their quaint little tea rooms. I absolutely devoured scones, clotted cream and tea β I do love my English delights, and there's nothing like enjoying them in a peaceful and lovely environment. π
As I was sipping my tea, I got to thinking about ballet and its connection to fashion. From the flamboyant costumes of the Romantic era to the sleek minimalist styles of contemporary ballet, ballet fashion has always been a spectacle, and there is an incredible evolution of styles through time that I absolutely love learning about.
Did you know, for instance, that tutus were first invented by Marie Taglioni, one of the most famous ballerinas of the 19th century? Talk about a fashion icon, eh? π
But back to my travel plans. Speaking of ballet, guess where I'm heading next? Well, it's a secret for now, but I'll tell you one thing: there are plenty of amazing shows happening all over the universe, and I'm planning to catch them all!
Before I leave, I must sayβ¦ the Derbyshire Dance Festival happening on November 7th is an event not to be missed. There will be all kinds of dancing - from ballet to contemporary, modern and hip hop. I simply can't wait to get lost in the wonder of the performances and get my pink tutu twirling! π
You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be rocking my very own pink tutu at this event. π
Until next week, darlings! Stay fabulous! β¨
**Lots of Love,
Emma π**
