Darling Divas, darling dancers, darling fashionistas,
Greetings from your favourite pink tutu-clad, intergalactic traveller, Emma! This week I’m bringing you back to Planet Earth from the dizzying heights of Alpha Centauri – my spaceship is having a bit of a wobble, apparently there’s something called ‘maintenance’ that is essential every now and then. Go figure! It seems even spaceship technology requires the odd pit stop! Still, I’m certainly not complaining about a week back in good ol’ Derbyshire. As I said, life for me is all about balance, and while I love exploring new corners of the cosmos in my favourite pink tutu, nothing beats the familiar feeling of my hometown, right?
But first, a quick update on the fashion scene!
This week I've been in full-blown #pinktutufashion mode. A trip to the London ballet shows saw me absolutely smashing it in my latest vintage creation, a beautiful cerise pink tutu with hand-stitched lace. I'm not saying it stole the show, because, let’s face it, the ballet dancers were quite exquisite (though, wouldn't it have been something if I'd strutted onto the stage during the intermission?) However, I did manage to earn a couple of complimentary comments about my stunning attire – “Fabulous”, “Simply Divine,” and even “Tutu Divine!” Now, wouldn't that be a good name for my fashion line?!
And speaking of tutus… I know you lot are as obsessed with tutu history as I am! This week, I stumbled across a charming vintage shop in Soho and found an absolutely magnificent antique tutu from the early 20th century! Can you imagine twirling around the dance floor in this glorious creation? Imagine, for a moment, the sheer luxury of the era… the feathers, the rhinestones, the hand-beaded silk… Honestly, the world simply wasn't the same before the tutu. I can practically hear the heavenly whispers of dancers from generations ago, praising the wonders of tulle and the timeless art of ballet.
But let's not forget, life is more than just fashion and history!
This week on Earth I've had a real treat: a visit to the Royal Ballet School in London! Now, I know you all think you've seen everything, but I’m here to tell you this: nothing can compare to seeing these tiny ballerinas grace the stage. These children were simply enchanting, and their dedication to the art of ballet left me spellbound. Their energy and dedication made my heart sing with excitement for the future of dance, and trust me, dear readers, the future of dance is looking brighter than a star in a supernova!
And, if I haven't mentioned this before, Planet Earth has an excellent ballet street culture, and I found some local hip-hop dancers showing off their moves by the old church where my Nan used to attend services, on my walk this morning! The young people of today are inspiring!
But now for the real purpose of this post...
As we approach the final week of January, I’m so thrilled to be on planet earth, amongst the earth’s creatures. This Wednesday, I will be attending a ballet performance at the local community center. There's something truly special about sharing a love for dance with your local community, don't you think? Plus, I hear they're going to be serving their special pink marshmallow cupcakes afterwards! (Don't worry, they are gluten-free – although, personally I'm not too bothered about the whole gluten-free thing; gluten-free cake is just cake – no judgment here).
Anyway, let me know in the comments what your week has been like and where your tutu took you!
**Yours always,
Emma Xoxoxo**

A Day in Emma's Life - The 23rd of January
Now that you've all heard Emma's blog post, I'm going to give you a little peek into her day! Imagine for a moment being Emma for the day - isn't that delightful!
* 7:00am: Time for the Morning Ritual*
Emma wakes up in her quaint Derbyshire cottage, her favourite pink-feather bedroom curtains softly billowing in the morning light. It’s a beautiful start to the day – the birds are singing outside, and the world is full of light, and as the sun peeks over the rooftops, it casts a glorious pink glow over the morning mist – talk about picture perfect, eh!
And like a true ballet dancer, she’s got the perfect morning ritual – a steaming cup of Darjeeling tea (strong and slightly milky – the way she likes it!) accompanied by her favourite ballerina biscuit (she’s not sure why they’re called ballerina biscuits, but she’s sure she will find the answer one day!) After all, no true ballet star can embark on a day of fashion and dance without her fuel!
8:00am: Fashion time!
Today is the day for her grand “Ballet on Planet Earth” performance in the community center. She's decided on a new tutu from the antique shop – the sheer, ivory white one with delicate handmade pearl beading and delicate bows. To give it that extra “Emma touch” she’s adding her bright pink feathered headpiece – a must have! The perfect pairing for this outfit will be a simple pink sparkly cardigan - she has a special love for cardigans! Emma then tops it off with a simple pink headband to hold back her luscious auburn curls, and her sparkling, silver ballet shoes – what else? It’s an ethereal look, both glamorous and slightly gothic, and she knows she’ll be the perfect embodiment of beauty and elegance on Planet Earth.
*9:00am: Time for Breakfast! *
Of course, Emma cannot go a whole day without her special ballerina breakfast - pancakes, pink (of course) candyfloss, and strawberries - oh yes, she knows how to indulge. Now, who wouldn’t love to have that every day for breakfast?
9:30am: It's off to the shops!
After breakfast, it's a quick detour to town, which is bursting with pink-tinted delights. She’s so lucky she can just walk to the high street and wander between her favourite boutiques! Her top five favourite shops? You’re gonna love this! The quirky vintage fashion shop called “Old Hollywood”, which has all her favourite classic tulle pieces, and the sparkly boutique called "Dancing with Diamonds" which is Emma’s favourite for the sheer bling. Not forgetting "Pink is The New Black" for the more alternative -but, of course pink - and let’s not forget the homeware store “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”, perfect for collecting new trinkets for her home. But, if she really wants something special, there is only one place she'll go - the beautiful and utterly divine "Dream in Pink." She just can’t help herself from purchasing another feather-trimmed tutu every time she pops in for a “quick” look!
10:30am: A Ballet Masterclass!
It’s always nice to get in a quick practice! The local dance school always welcomes her for a private session in their beautiful studio. She does like her space for spinning – so her tutus can have their moment! There's nothing like feeling her muscles warm up as she effortlessly glides through her favourite routine, and of course, to remind herself why she has to keep her dancing skills up to date.
12:00pm: A Little Lunch at the Tea Room
Of course, her visit to the community centre would be incomplete without a delightful, decadent afternoon tea. Today, she's opted for the signature "Pink Paradise Tea", which boasts fluffy pink sandwiches with raspberry filling, delectable pink meringue biscuits, a scone served with the sweetest strawberry jam and whipped cream, and a dainty pink fruit tart. And, of course, she wouldn't miss out on the freshly brewed tea – all the pink delights to help her dance with joy through the afternoon.
1:30pm: Community Centre!
It’s show time! The community centre has got it all this year. This time she is taking part in a little number from one of the ballet performances she’d seen in London – it’s from “Swan Lake.” She’ll be joining a small group for the closing dance and will get to be a swan (all black this time!). She even made sure to find some fluffy, feather-trimmed wings – for ultimate ballet and swan heaven! Emma simply can’t wait for the show to begin and for all the local eyes to be enthralled by her breathtaking skills, her captivating pink tutus and her enchanting energy, radiating as she dances across the floor!
*2:30pm: After Party time! *
Now, how else do we get the party started other than with a cake buffet? And of course, Emma makes sure it's as pink and divine as possible – complete with her famous, gluten-free pink marshmallow cupcakes – a special treat that everyone seems to love! It’s time to celebrate a fantastic day on planet earth. The conversation flows effortlessly among the community centre locals, she even manages to inspire some new budding pink tutu dancers, even a group of local boys! It really is a dream come true for Emma. The warmth and joy radiating from her are absolutely contagious!
*3:00pm: A pink-tinted Sunset in Derbyshire *
And then it’s back to her cottage, to relax after a day in a pink haze. She loves sitting in her comfortable chair – you’re going to love this - she made sure it was covered in a pink velvet fabric! - and she gazes out the window at the soft colours of a Derbyshire sunset, a canvas of pale pinks and blues merging with a shimmering lilac sky. The birds chirping as they settle for the night – she simply can’t get over how beautiful this place is! As the day slowly winds down, her thoughts turn to her next big adventure: an intergalactic trip to a far-off constellation, perhaps to Andromeda or even to a whole new nebula – but she can’t help thinking of that fluffy tutu that she wants to buy! Who knows what awaits her in the great cosmic dance floor?
As the final glow of the sun fades, Emma slips into her softest pink silk pyjamas, feeling relaxed and content. And just before closing her eyes, she puts her most exquisite tutu on display. It shines in the dimly lit bedroom, a reminder that, for Emma, life is all about a love for the elegant and whimsical - and a celebration of her favourite shade, the utterly delightful pink!
And just in case you didn't already know, pink is a colour that evokes many different things, from love and innocence to strength and femininity. It's also associated with grace and beauty, making it a truly perfect choice for a dancer and an explorer!
As Emma drift off to sleep, she's dreaming of pink universes full of dancers twirling through space, all in pink tutus – it's a world of pink and sparkles, waiting for her. Isn't it beautiful?
Goodnight, my little divas and dancers, sleep well, and remember to follow your pink-tinted dreams! Emma! Xoxo
