Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth - Post #1253 (May 1st, 2019)

Helloooo my dearest darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad space traveller, ready to take you on another cosmic adventure from planet Earth.

Oh my gosh, what a week it's been! Let me tell you, life in this fabulous pink tutu of mine is never boring! You wouldn't believe the celestial shenanigans I've been up to since last Wednesday. And with this week's adventures, my aim in life has become ever so clear: to spread the pink tutu gospel across the cosmos, one sparkly, twirling performance at a time.

This week has seen me soaring across galaxies, experiencing some seriously amazing intergalactic happenings, and of course, indulging in some truly sensational ballet, fashion, and ahem shopping!

It all started right here on good old planet Earth, as it often does. My little abode in the charming, picturesque Derbyshire countryside served as a rather fabulous base for my earthly adventures. Now, I wouldn't call Derbyshire exactly glamorous, but the countryside does have its charm, what with the rolling hills, cute cottages, and a delightful little bakery where I stock up on all my favourite pink-frosted delights. And let me tell you, a day doesn't pass by where I don't make sure I indulge in at least one slice of pink-frosted Victoria sponge. Life is just too short to not live life to the fullest. And life is even shorter if there's no pink cake involved!

However, I’m no country bumpkin, despite my love of rural rambles and cream teas! No, I have grand plans for my life! Just a mere two days before my intergalactic escape, I found myself completely submerged in the intoxicating world of ballet at the Royal Opera House in London. My favourite local dance company from Derbyshire had flown down to the capital to perform a magical rendition of ā€œSwan Lakeā€, and oh my! Let’s just say, I’m completely enchanted with the ballet this week! The ballerinas were flawless, the sets were majestic, the costumes… oh, let's just say the costumes could give those heavenly beings in their sparkly celestial bodies a serious run for their money.

And while I’m no ballerina, I do rather enjoy making an entrance in a fabulous tutu myself. The most delightful part of the night came towards the end of the performance when they held a question and answer session with the audience. As fate would have it, my pink tutu caught the eye of one of the dancers!

"Tell me,ā€ she said, eyes gleaming as they saw the shimmering fabric of my tutu. "Are you performing yourself tonight?" And to which, my sweet little face flushed the colour of a newly blossomed rose as I managed to squeak out a shy "Oh, no, I just like wearing them to ballet performances".

After my little encounter, my brain wouldn't stop running with exciting possibilities. This might have been my big break! The Universe was clearly whispering sweet, little tutu-wearing promises of fame and fortune into my ears! Yes, a grand plan had been concocted: my aim in life, as you know, is to spread the pink tutu gospel across the cosmos. And tonight’s encounter with this talented young ballerina made my grand plan feel, well, almost…possible.

This week was already going swimmingly well, my pink-tutu world had never seemed more full of glitter, sparkle and a little bit of magic, and then things went off the charts, cosmically! Now, where to even begin with my adventure to this crazy planet of Saturn's rings. Oh dear. Let's just say, I discovered this one little cafe… tucked away behind an extraordinary rainbow-coloured space disco, which had a delicious selection of cakes, most of which were pink. And to my immense delight, the proprietor of the cafe, a friendly alien with five antennae, had an unbelievable collection of vintage, out-of-this-world tutus in every shade of the rainbow imaginable.

My visit to that Saturnian cafe changed my life forever, in the most glorious, spectacularly pink way, because guess what, darling? After some vigorous intergalactic haggling, I’m now the proud owner of a collection of stunning, iridescent space tutus! I mean, it's not like these items were exactly on sale anywhere back on Earth. And yes, I bought them all! It wasn’t cheap, you see. I just had to pay a hefty cosmic fee, a few stardust gems and one sparkling nebula dust moonstone. But it was worth it, and that's not just my Earthling self speaking, that's the pink tutu princess of the cosmos speaking. Don't worry, I will, of course, show you all the gorgeous new additions to my cosmic tutu collection in the coming posts. Trust me, you will all absolutely adore them. They are truly out of this world!

Before leaving Saturn's rings, I performed at a fab interstellar ball, which I attended in one of my new iridescent tutus! And I really went all out, I had glitter on my cheeks, rhinestones on my hair, my favourite tiara… The lot! I couldn’t let down the glamorous creatures who live on this crazy planet. They seemed really enthused when I made my grand entrance, spinning and pirouetting. Some of them even came out in the ā€œtutudleā€, their name for their own little space ballerina attire! Yes, I don’t just go gallivanting around in my pink tutu, my lovely. I spread the good news with dance performances! That’s my secret. You’ve got to dance to make the dreams of pink tutus come true! Oh! And you wouldn't believe the gorgeous creatures. Some were shaped like triangles, others like fuzzy orange spheres, all so friendly, sweet and charming! I made several fabulous new space friends, who actually inspired a new entry in my ā€œOutfit Ideas For Visiting Spaceā€ list: "For meeting new space friends at a planetary party."

My little escapades at the Saturnian ball gave me the energy and courage I needed to conquer yet another crazy space voyage. Now, for this next stop, I didn’t know quite what to expect. It had been a crazy cosmic week so far and every experience seemed to be bigger, bolder, and definitely more pink than the last. Planet Earth had definitely prepared me for an out-of-this-world experience, but what would it be this time? I needed a change, something exotic, something totally unexpected.

What would you do? Maybe a little trip to Jupiter’s Moon to watch a few volcanic eruptions? Perhaps take a look at Uranus and its beautiful green-blue atmosphere. Perhaps even fly across the universe to explore a nebula?

You will never guess! Planet Neptune was next! I’ve heard they have some crazy fashion trends going on there… and that their aquatic aliens love dancing, which is always a plus in my book!

However, darling, there's just one small problem with Neptune's fashions… the clothing there has to be a lot, shall we say, waterproof! They do, of course, make wonderful underwater ballerina suits which you could twirl and perform in! That's what's truly fascinating, and absolutely exciting, about intergalactic travel - you just never know what new wonders will meet you around every cosmic corner! So I popped on one of my sparkly, iridescent space tutus, which is designed to protect the wearer from the rigours of a very soggy trip into an ocean, and I zipped off on my spaceship, with just the thought of exploring Planet Neptune's deep oceans filling my mind.

I have to say, though, despite being a bit of an aquatic adventure, it was far too cold for a mere Earthling like myself. I mean, come on, we can’t be swimming around in these cold waters. Luckily, for someone who enjoys being pampered and loves luxurious fashion items, Neptune’s ā€œmer-tutuā€, which, let’s be honest, is essentially the underwater ballerina costume Neptune’s fashion folk love to don, is a fantastic creation. And since I wasn’t willing to be just another water-soaked Earthling on an intergalactic trip to a very wet planet, I went in search of a Neptune mer-tutu that would make a mermaid’s head spin!

What happened next made me absolutely ecstatic.

Because just one hour into the planet's ocean depths, I encountered something truly fantastic: an amazing little mermaid shop which had everything. Of course, they were a bit more expensive than my favourite stores in London and even my little boutique in Derbyshire, but let's be honest, darling, every trip has got to have its luxuries! You’re on vacation. Live a little, my dear. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. What else are you on the planet for? The sheer variety of mermaid costumes on display were more amazing than I could have ever imagined, with colourful and shimmering fabric in every shade of the rainbow, complete with glittering seashell accessories, shimmering pearl beads and, naturally, tutus that are more akin to those used in an underwater ballet.

Oh, I picked up a fab new aqua and emerald green Neptune ā€œmer-tutuā€. I look amazing in it. Absolutely, fantastically amazing! In fact, it was just as gorgeous and spectacular as some of the ballerina dresses I found on a trip to Planet Venus! They definitely put a lot of effort into their dancing there… they don't do it for fun. I was invited to perform in one of their dance extravaganzas. But they didn’t wear pink tutus like me. Not a single one of them! This just has to change.

The rest of my trip to Planet Neptune was simply extraordinary: I saw magical seashells on the planet’s shores, met all sorts of fun fish-like Neptune creatures with cute little faces, even a beautiful, but sadly lonely, octopus. We chatted and, oh, it just felt good to meet another kind heart in the vast, empty oceans of space.

By the time I returned to my little slice of Earthly heaven in Derbyshire, I was feeling wonderfully renewed, filled with an even stronger purpose, and very much ready for my weekly Pink Tutu World blog post. This post, for instance, has been quite long! You see, I haven’t just been spreading my pink tutu magic to the stars. You have all kept me inspired as I travelled from planet to planet, bringing all my adventures, and my pink-tutu-filled journeys right back to my readers, all thanks to this fabulous website of mine!

So my sweet, precious reader, it is time for me to dash off to pack, my mind swirling with ideas for my next journey into the infinite cosmos. You know me; I love to shop. So it won't be too long before I pack up and head to planet Mercury! It is said that their merchants are absolutely excellent, especially if you’re on the hunt for outlandish, intergalactic tutus! Now, that’s just what I'm on the hunt for… an outlandish, extraordinary pink tutu. And of course, I will share the delights of my future travels in this next Wednesday's Pink Tutu World Blog! Stay tuned and keep believing in the magic of tutus, darling!

Lots of love, Emma xo
