Hello, my darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu World! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another celestial adventure, this time right here on planet Earth!
This week I've had such a whirlwind time, from the shimmering lights of the stage to the dazzling displays of Parisian boutiques. It's been an absolute dream!
Firstly, a massive shout-out to all my gorgeous supporters who came to see my latest performance at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London! The applause was so heartwarming, and it was truly exhilarating to twirl under the chandeliers while my favourite pink tutu twirled around me. You guys are the best! It's incredible to think how my little dance career, all those years ago in Derbyshire, led me here. And to think, every performance funds another incredible adventure.
Of course, no trip to London is complete without a trip to the shops! I managed to snag a beautiful new ballet slipper-shaped clutch for my next galactic soirรฉe, a delicate chiffon scarf perfect for adding a touch of femininity to my spacesuit (because let's face it, even astronauts need to be chic), and a stunning vintage-style pink tutu from a little shop hidden down a back street in Soho.
But speaking of London, a trip to the city wouldn't be complete without visiting the ballet museum. Now, I know you're probably thinking "Emma, you're a little bit obsessed," but there's something truly magical about immersing yourself in the history of ballet. They even had an exhibition showcasing some of the most iconic tutus throughout the ages - my personal favourite was a breathtaking emerald green tutu worn by Anna Pavlova in the early 20th century. It was so exquisite and beautifully crafted.
It's moments like these that really remind me why I do what I do. I want to spread the magic of dance across the universe, to inspire others to express themselves through movement and grace, and, of course, to wear pink tutus everywhere they go. Imagine, if you will, a galaxy of pink tutus shimmering amongst the stars! Doesn't it just fill you with joy?
After all my exciting escapades in London, I made my way back home to my quaint Derbyshire cottage, feeling utterly refreshed and inspired. As I sit here with a cup of herbal tea, surrounded by my collection of pink tutus and vintage ballet books, I can't help but smile. Life is truly beautiful when you live it in a pink tutu.
Speaking of life, 28th August 2019 is a special day for dancers on Earth. You might be wondering why? Well, it's the day a ballet company in California called 'The Little Tutu' was founded. Their founder had a mission, which was to empower dancers with tutus, and for many years now they have provided beautiful tutus for local children's ballets in the area, making sure there's a ballerina in everyone. This day also falls on the same day as 'National Ballerina Day', where you're supposed to embrace the beauty and magic of the dance style, so naturally I donned my most beautiful tutu, a frothy confection of pale pink tulle with silver sequins, and took a leisurely stroll through the countryside, admiring the blooming wildflowers. It was just a beautiful, balletic, summer day!
And now, as I wrap up this post, I want to ask you all a question: What's your favourite pink tutu memory? Share your stories below, whether it be a memory from a performance, a special ballet show, or just a magical day spent twirling in your favourite tutu!
Remember, every day is an opportunity to dance, to dream, and to shine bright, even on a little planet like Earth!
Until next Wednesday, darling!
Always twirling, Emma
