Pink Tutu World: Blog Post #1288 - Intergalactic Adventures - 1st January 2020!

Hello darlings, and welcome to another week of Pink Tutu World! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for my weekly blog post - how exciting!

As you know, my aim in life is to get everyone in the universe wearing a pink tutu. So, where better to start than right here on Planet Earth?

First, a quick recap: It’s been a busy couple of weeks for this tutu-loving space traveller. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was twirling amongst the nebulae of Andromeda. The ethereal shimmer of the galaxy is truly awe-inspiring, not to mention the sheer volume of cosmic glitter. It just screamed “Pink Tutu Paradise!” Sadly, however, no one wore pink tutus – a missed opportunity if ever I saw one.

Then it was back to Earth, back to Derbyshire, back to the real world! This little ballerina's got to pay the bills, and it seems intergalactic travel isn't the most lucrative career path just yet. So I swapped my spaceship for a stage, donning a gorgeous, handcrafted pink tutu (I've got to advertise, you see, darling!) and performed a selection of classical ballet pieces at the Derby Theatre. You wouldn't believe the turnout! A record-breaking number of tutut-wearing audience members, thank heavens! I just love it when people dress up to celebrate the art of ballet. We have a tutu-ing good time!

It’s a New Year, Darlings!

And that’s the thing about Planet Earth, it's constantly evolving. Even the Earth year is like a big, bold ballet with seasons as acts - a kaleidoscope of ever-changing beauty and a chance to showcase a different shade of pink every month! It is all so incredibly dramatic! So, what does a ballerina like me do? I embrace the changes!

That brings me to the first of January. I don’t know about you, darlings, but my New Year's Resolution this year is to bring more joy and whimsy into my life – all while sporting my signature shade of pink, of course! Because life's too short to be a boring beige.

Here on Planet Earth, everyone is making their own resolutions. A good portion of those resolutions revolve around getting healthy. Of course, my darling readers know that you can’t possibly expect to get healthy and vibrant without a healthy dose of tutu fun. The best part of it is the fashion possibilities! Just think of the color palettes!

What did I do to ring in the new year, you ask? Well, naturally I started the day with a glorious dance session in the Derby Playhouse's ballet studio, all in the spirit of making my resolution a reality, before hopping onto a private shuttle and heading straight back to the galactic wonderland that is, well… Space!

And what do I have for you today, dear readers, but a glimpse into this magical intergalactic trip!

I am, after all, a space travel enthusiast, a firm believer that nothing is beyond reach - especially not in a fabulous pink tutu. And as the newest galactic trendsetter, I need to show you what awaits you out there. It’s an amazing journey. Come along for the ride!

My First Cosmic Runway Show

What is space if not a cosmic fashion runway, right? It's a big, bright, sparkling canvas of unimaginable dimensions! Just thinking about it sends chills down my spine (in a good way, of course!).

You know that a tutu-wearing space traveller has to always, ALWAYS be looking at ways to stay ahead of the game, so it's time for you to meet Avia Celeste, my intergalactic fashion bestie!

We met when she noticed me swanning through a swirling cloud of nebula dust. She simply HAD to get to know this fashionable gal. The only thing that I think she has that I don’t have, darlings, is this incredible talent for weaving light fabrics into stunning holographic textures. You should see the holographic tutus she crafts! Truly spectacular, and truly dazzling, and also incredibly, unimaginably, fantastically, utterly and totally… pink.

Of course, darling readers, I have been showing her the latest fashions of Planet Earth. I don’t want her thinking we all still wear those brown potato sack clothes. (You’ve seen the images, I know what you’re thinking.) My new Avia’s been learning so much about tutu culture! A new ballet aficionado is in town. Now she needs a name.

And this was all thanks to my very first intergalactic runway show, “Dancing Across the Galaxies.” Held aboard my trusty spaceship – "The Pink Tutu," of course, which is actually more spaceship, and less 'ship', in true ballet style.

We chose a very dramatic background, something so grand and so sweeping that only the universe could possibly provide. I know the idea seems ambitious, almost fantastical. But it wasn't difficult to pull off, especially with a little bit of fairy dust and Avia’s ingenuity. We flew into a swirling cosmic ballet, so we really had everything: shimmering nebulae as the backdrop, black holes spinning around in the distance like celestial stagehands and a cosmic glow just right for the final curtain. It was so breathtaking!

And as you might imagine, darling readers, the guest list was filled with the cream of the celestial elite - cosmic queens, galaxy lords, the entire nebulae society! (We also invited our galactic neighbours – the Vulcans, the Andromeda inhabitants and of course the star-gazers of the Milky Way! ) They simply wouldn't miss such a spectacle, especially one that involved pink tutus.

I took center stage as usual, in a beautiful pink tutu with celestial embroidery, my pointe shoes glittering under the starlight, my every graceful movement framed by the nebula’s cosmic glow. It truly was a magical moment, my darlings, with celestial grace and delicate movements. I could see those extraterrestrial fashionistas start to take notice – a pink revolution was happening!

Pink Power Everywhere, Darling!

Even the fashion snobs of Andromeda were enthralled. After years of just looking at grey, it seemed they were hungry for some bright colours. The reaction, my darlings, was phenomenal, especially as the intergalactic trendsetters decided it was “simply exquisite”, “delightful”, and "unbelievably bold”.
I think the only word I didn't hear anyone utter was “boring”. Oh yes, the show was truly breathtaking, and a complete and utter triumph! The word's out! Pink is coming back with a vengeance!

I even had a star-studded cast in the audience – you wouldn't believe the interstellar celebrities who turned up – even a few black hole dancers (apparently they love pirouettes.)

But it was really all about the fashion.

And this brings me to one of the highlights of the show: The Fashion Gala. What is a fashion show without a little something extra to give it an extra dose of glamour? Well, for this galactic extravaganza, I introduced the most breathtaking array of dazzling garments – every piece meticulously crafted and sprinkled with star-dust! A symphony of pink that even a galaxy couldn't ignore!

There was nothing that quite matched Avia's signature collection of “Nebula tutus”. She wove iridescent nebula gas into her designs to create some really dazzling, iridescent tutus – she used light fabric, interspersed with cosmic glitter, it was absolutely brilliant, I mean brilliant, you know, that celestial sparkle, it just shines!

Fashion's Intergalactic Symphony

And that’s not even all, darling.

Every tutu that night reflected a particular planet - it really made it a special night:

Jupiter's Flame: A swirling mass of fire red with flecks of gold • Uranus’ Turquoise: The palest shades of green that could almost be blue • Mercury’s Sparkle: A dazzling display of the silveriest of white

I even created my own couture show stopper. The “Pink Stardust”. A true symphony of the purest pink you can imagine with twinkling glitter and intricate embroidery of the Milky Way galaxy. I mean, you don't become the queen of the universe for nothing! (That's actually true darling – for real!).

My, my, it truly was a night of wonders, a celestial spectacle that captivated everyone's heart, and even sparked a new era of pink power!

The Universe in a Tutu.

You see, it’s more than a colour, it’s more than fashion – pink tutus embody a whole lifestyle. And you can see it in the galaxy, with all the colour and vibrancy on display everywhere – every shimmering comet, every radiant nebula, and every blazing sun… It’s about believing in dreams, celebrating life, and spreading that sweet tutu joy.

As we dance through the universe in our beautiful tutus, we become more than ballerinas; we become ambassadors for hope and dreams. And yes, my darling readers, I am here for all of that! And of course, all while wearing pink.

Next week, dear readers - back to Planet Earth for a quick jaunt around Derby (where I’ll be at the ballet for a fabulous show with the local company). Of course, there are always new and exciting tutu creations for all you Planet Earth ballerinas to discover! It will all be here at Pink Tutu World, where we'll dance across the planet (and maybe even across the galaxies!).

Until then, stay tutu-ing!

Love always, Emma
