Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - #1313 πŸ©°βœ¨πŸ’–

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite intergalactic ballerina, writing to you live from Planet Earth, fresh from another dazzling cosmic adventure. It's Wednesday, June 24th, 2020, and I'm ready to share all the fabulous details of my recent trip with you lovely lot. πŸ’–

Oh my stars, I have so much to tell you!

You know how I love a good cosmic jaunt. It's so easy to zoom about in my spaceship, the Pink Tutu Galaxy Express, you know. But, as a dedicated pink tutu devotee, I do like to ground myself back on this glorious blue marble we call Earth once a week, in case you hadn't guessed it from my blog's name... Anyway, this week was especially exciting as it involved a real treat, which I knew you all would love!

Ballet Bonanza!

Let's face it, the universe simply couldn't be a better place for a pink-tutu wearing ballerina with a thirst for all things sparkly. And I don't just mean my tutu's glitter! On my travels I meet incredible people, see fascinating sights, experience the very latest fashion trends - and dance my heart out, obviously! πŸ’–

Well, guess what? The latest treat was right here on my home planet. Planet Earth! It was a dream come true! This past Tuesday night (you know I have to keep things just slightly secretive so my Earthlings can keep on enjoying the surprises), I got to witness the most magical, fantastical performance I've seen in a long time, even out of this world, which it almost literally was! And, darling, what was it you say? Oh yes, it was ballet.

The Royal Ballet in London - My Favourite City in the World

Of course, being from Derbyshire in England (home of a good old traditional cup of tea, darling!) my favourite planet Earth destination is always London - and this time it was a visit to see the Royal Ballet. Imagine my delight - my feet simply were doing the pirouettes all on their own. You see, I couldn't have been more delighted about my return visit. After all, London really is my favourite city in the world. Just say the name out loud - "L-o-n-d-o-n!" Oh, it practically sings itself. ✨

And, can you believe it? My cosmic friends all gathered to experience this joy with me. It felt like a reunion of the intergalactic elite. My lovely bestie Luna from Saturn was there (she practically lives on Mars bars) and then there was Zilla, the alien fashion designer (from that bright purple planet... you know the one!), and even Jupiter joined in the fun - he just arrived from his own planet, Jupiter, no surprise there. Honestly, they're all just as obsessed with fashion as me and it was wonderful catching up, hearing about their recent cosmic adventures and what they had bought - you just know their taste in clothes is exquisite.

The Royal Opera House is always my go-to place to experience some real earthling beauty and artistry. I do love how its red velvet interiors, complete with chandeliers and ornate ceilings, create that truly enchanting and immersive experience. You feel instantly transported, a bit like jumping through one of those old Victorian picture frames into another world. But don't you know this is what happens with all good theatres - they transport you! I know it sounds obvious, but have you noticed this before?

Anyway, darling, you must imagine my delight when I learned the Royal Ballet was staging a production of Tchaikovsky's 'The Nutcracker'. You simply can't talk about a ballet program without talking about Tchaikovsky, a composer I find incredibly charming, although of course I'm also obsessed with Tchaikovsky's contemporary 'The Swan Lake'. 🦒✨ But the Nutcracker, with all the festive joy it brings, well... it really does make Christmas extra-special, and as an avid tutu aficionado I find the beautiful costumes totally Christmas chic, let me tell you.

'The Nutcracker' and Festive Fancy Dress

Oh my! So it began, I was back in a childhood wonderland of sugar plum fairies, toy soldiers, and my personal favourite - the Rat King who really does just rock it in his rat costume - quite an impressive and daring sartorial choice, you have to say. I found myself surrounded by an incredibly joyous ensemble of performers (with so much incredible skill!), from graceful ballerinas with beautiful pliΓ© to dapper-looking, heroic and fearless danseurs (a real favourite with me!), and of course, there were the charming and elegant snow sprites and of course those oh-so-cute and adorable snowflakes who flutter about with all that whimsical delight.

As you might expect, dear readers, I've become something of an expert in 'The Nutcracker'. It has everything that is dear to me. After all, there are tutus in all shapes and sizes (in pretty much every imaginable hue - you'd be surprised!), as well as gorgeous dancing shoes. You can't beat a great pair of pointe shoes, which really is what makes every performance truly amazing, along with that captivating costume, obviously. And when you see them up on stage with the spotlights shining brightly upon them... well, darling, you really are transported!

A Dreamy Production for an Ever-Adventurous Intergalactic Ballerina

The Nutcracker was simply sublime, so magical and festive - even for a non-believer like me! Let me tell you, a truly dreamy, ethereal performance where magic meets real life, even though, as I keep telling you, it all happens here in the real world, and it makes for an especially perfect viewing experience for my adventurous pink tutu lifestyle - I'm talking full-on pink tutu glamour in the most exciting setting! It was really very much 'Pink Tutu World Ballet on Planet Earth'.

If you have not already, go and see the Nutcracker, darling. Go and witness the incredible performances of those stunning dancers and ballerinas and let it transport you! They work so hard - and with such joy - they'll make you feel utterly magical, I can promise you. The Nutcracker is such a heartwarming and joyous event - you simply have to witness this incredible experience to understand. I would never let any of my loyal readers miss out.

A Tutu to Remember

But oh, this ballet experience has really been giving me a fashion-conscious intergalactic ballerina plenty of thoughts and a real inspiration. This production did not disappoint on the outfit front. That Rat King's look - seriously glamorous! I know you all love to hear about fashion! And there was an exquisite new tutu I discovered. In pale turquoise and with some gorgeous embellishments. Let me tell you darling, this colour... oh, just heavenly! I already bought myself one and will of course be posting on Instagram and in my blog posts when I get my hands on it. Let me know if you'd like a preview of my fabulous shopping trip - but don't worry I'll add in all my own pink and pink accessories of course...

Cosmic Inspirations

My mind is still whirling with so many lovely inspirations - so much joy! What will I make next, what new dance will I try out next? What tutu? So many decisions to be made. As usual, I will continue my dancing on this trip and hopefully make it to the National Ballet School, just down the road from my very first pink tutu (do tell you lovely readers what your very first tutu was, but you must all send a photo too!). And, then, of course, there's London... so much more to do...

But, for now, my darling readers, that's my Pink Tutu World Ballet on Planet Earth update. Go out and do something wonderful this week, darling, something that sparks that cosmic magic inside. Take it from your favourite pink tutu blogger! I will, for sure. Oh, yes.

Until next Wednesday - when I will of course tell you all about it on www.pink-tutu.com

Much love,

Emma x πŸ’–
