Pink Tutu World Blog Post #1333: A Stellar Spin Around Planet Earth - 11/11/2020

Hello my darlings! Emma here, back from another whirlwind trip across the cosmos, this time touching down back on my favourite planet - Earth! 🪐 I'm writing to you all from my little apartment in Derbyshire, England, feeling utterly enchanted after my adventures this week. This post is jam-packed full of glittery, twirly goodness, so settle in with a cuppa and a biscuit, and get ready to be whisked away to a world of fashion, ballet, and, of course, the most fabulous pink tutus!

A Grand Debut in The Big Apple

As you know, my spaceship, aptly named The Twirling Comet, has been zipping me around the galaxy like a shooting star, and this week found me on a visit to New York City! What better place to debut my latest tutu creation? It's a dazzling pink, layered tulle masterpiece, inspired by the grand ballrooms of the city itself. The colour is a shimmering mix of "rose quartz" and "cotton candy pink", so fabulous it makes my heart do a grand jeté!

My first stop was, of course, a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a treasure trove of inspiration for any aspiring fashionista, tutus included! I spent hours in awe of the breathtaking gowns and jewellery of bygone eras, imagining the grandeur and grace of the women who wore them. It got my creative juices flowing, and I couldn't wait to share my newest tutu design with the world!

Ballet and Broadway Magic

My love for ballet is well-known, so naturally, my next port of call was the New York City Ballet. They put on an exquisite production of Swan Lake, the ethereal beauty and breathtaking technique of the dancers left me mesmerized! I loved the costumes - I think I spotted a tutu or two that would have given my own design a run for its money - although let's be honest, I’m all for friendly competition! 🩰

The highlight of the evening though? Meeting the iconic Misty Copeland. We had the most fabulous conversation, all about pink tutus and her life in ballet. What an absolute legend!

Later that evening, I was treated to a performance of Wicked on Broadway! Now, I know Broadway has had a long history of fabulously dressed and sparkly performers, but the sheer energy of Wicked blew me away. It was so theatrical and engaging, I was transported straight into Oz! I swear I saw a pink tutu in the crowd! I was utterly delighted.

Fashion Finds & Shopping Sprees

No trip to New York City is complete without a shopping spree! So, I hit the high streets (well, the super-high avenues) of Manhattan and found some amazing additions to my wardrobe. There was a shop tucked away in Greenwich Village overflowing with vintage Chanel bags and beautiful silk scarves - heaven! And I found some utterly divine pink satin shoes that would look fabulous under my latest tutu. The day was full of exciting fashion finds, and a definite highlight for this tutu-loving ballerina.

The "Pink Tutu Movement" is Taking Flight

My trip to the Big Apple has reinforced what I've known for years - that pink tutus are truly a force of nature! I saw so many women in beautiful pink outfits, with pops of pink in their shoes or bags. It's a color that makes everyone feel powerful and beautiful, and that's what I love about it. I'm on a mission to inspire women and people from all walks of life to embrace their inner ballerina, and I'm determined to spread the love of pink tutus throughout the entire galaxy! ✨

So here’s the plan: if you're ever in a bit of a tutu rut, don't worry! It happens to us all. There are endless options! Maybe try adding some pink sparkly accessories, like some lovely feather boas, a dazzling tiara, or some sparkling pink shoes. Or go all out with a pink tulle skirt and let your inner twirling goddess shine. Don’t forget, it's not just about the tutu - it's about how it makes you feel!

Back to Planet Earth: A Cosmic Spin on Halloween

The beauty of my spacefaring life? The flexibility to experience all sorts of wonderful planetary holidays! Halloween on Earth was a real delight! While my personal costume was my trusty, dazzling pink tutu, I was delighted to see people in all kinds of wonderfully creative and silly costumes! And yes, a few brave souls took to the streets in tutus as well. So delightful!

You see, Earthly fashion is incredibly creative and inventive! From gothic glam to steampunk-inspired masterpieces, there’s something for everyone. But, even though I love to embrace the current trends on each planet, I’m sticking to my mission to make the entire universe a sea of beautiful pink tutus. Just imagine, all those star systems glowing pink and dancing in unison! Now that’s a cosmic show I’d love to see!

My Mission: Ballet for Everyone

My passion for ballet doesn't end with twirling around the universe in pink tutus. It also encompasses sharing the joy of this incredible art form with everyone! So I offer ballet classes in all sorts of wonderful spaces: parks, planetarium lobbies, and even space stations! 🌌 You don’t need to be a seasoned ballerina to enjoy a good dance. Just put on some comfy shoes and your best pink tutu, and join in the fun! It’s all about getting your body moving and having a bit of a giggle along the way!

My Earthly adventures always leave me full of joy and inspiration!
