Hello, my lovely Tutu Tribe! 💖✨
It’s Wednesday again, which means it’s time for a brand new post on Pink Tutu World! This week, I’m bouncing with excitement as I'm finally back on dear ol’ Planet Earth after an intergalactic trip to… drum roll… wait for it… prepare yourselves… the past! Yup, I jetted off in my trusty spaceship to experience life as a ballerina back in the glorious Victorian Era!
It's hard to believe I actually made it back here to planet Earth to write this post, to be honest, because the Victorian era was utterly captivating! Let's just say, there's a certain charm to the elegance of those times… and a certain charm to a gaslight's warm glow that I just can’t explain, ha! 😉
Anyway, for all you Tutu Time Travelers who’ve ever dreamed of dancing with the Victorian greats like The Fairy or Giselle – or just wished to step back in time and get a feel for those early, dramatic ballet costumes – then read on! 🩰
A Timeless Pink Dream:
Let's get one thing out of the way first: there were no tutus in the Victorian era! Can you believe it? 😩😱
No fluffy, cloud-like layers of tulle to twirl in! They danced in skirts made from layers upon layers of cotton or silk, which, believe me, was far less comfortable. Not a chance I was wearing that while I traveled in time. No siree! I stuck to my trusty pink tulle!
Of course, in true Emma style, I wore a lovely shade of pastel pink that just happened to compliment the pale pastel pink dresses and pale green hues popular with ladies of that time. My mission, after all, was to blend in while looking perfectly fashionable, as any proper pink tutu wearing space traveller would do! 😉
Dancing with History
Let’s chat about the dancing itself, shall we? I found it to be absolutely fascinating. There was such a wonderful level of formality in Victorian dance compared to our more modern dance. You could tell that a lot of care was taken to make every movement perfectly executed… there was no rough or "unsure" dancing here. I, for one, love to see dance with precise, practiced beauty – and that’s definitely what the Victorian era dancers had. And I certainly had to brush up on my footwork for those beautiful long ballets, and even incorporate a bit of the era's dramatic style into my signature performance at the Royal Albert Hall this week. I think it brought a nice change-up. 💖
Oh! Speaking of the Royal Albert Hall, we need to chat about my most recent dance performance! I’ve been wanting to do this for years, but I never had a spaceship capable of travelling back in time before... Imagine me, darling, performing in one of the very halls that launched those grand ballet tours across Britain! Can you picture it?
The audience was wonderful, just filled with ladies in grand gowns and gentlemen in their most handsome formal attire. And oh, did I have a tutu perfect for the occasion! You know I love my twirling – I'm known for my fancy twirls – and the entire Royal Albert Hall roared in applause after a final, particularly twirly bow. I was thrilled! 🤩
But of course, nothing compares to the experience of getting to dance the parts of The Fairy or Giselle back in those legendary days. Even if the tutus weren't part of the style. I absolutely loved every moment!
Time Travel Through Style:
This trip really brought home just how important a pink tutu truly is in the grand history of ballet itself. If I could add tutus into those historic times, I absolutely would – imagine The Fairy with her shimmering, twirling pink tutu... how truly gorgeous that would have been! Honestly, if the Victorian Era could be convinced about tutus… maybe they could all take a leaf out of my pink book, eh? 💖😉
But tutuland isn’t a single trip’s journey… it’s about sharing my pink dreams… it’s about a vision of fashion shining on every corner of this Universe! 🌌🌎 I know it may seem a little unconventional to want to have every creature on this planet, or perhaps across the whole galaxy, wearing pink tutus... but don't worry – I'm well on my way to achieving that dream! ✨
And hey, don't worry if you’ve got some ideas about the whole pink tutu thing... because that's why I'm here, darling! Send your pink Tutu thoughts and your spacefaring travel tips to
Until next time, keep spreading the joy of tutus with me. And never forget: the most beautiful thing is knowing your tutu dream, no matter how pink or sparkly it might be, will come true. 💗🌸
Happy twirling! 💖✨
P.S. - You won’t believe what’s in store for us next Wednesday, so be sure to check back then, darlings! I’m jetting off again on a completely different pink-tastic adventure! We’re taking on… wait for it… drum roll … a musical comedy! 😉🩰
