Pink Tutu World: #1359 - Ballet on Planet Earth - 2021-05-12

Helloooo darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu wearing, space-faring ballerina, bringing you a new post from... wait for it… PLANET EARTH! 🎉

I know, I know, you're probably thinking "Emma, darling, you've been here for weeks!" and you'd be right. But honestly, it’s been a whirlwind. Earth is such a vibrant, creative planet! From the dazzling fashion on the streets of New York to the incredible ballet shows in London, I've been living for this cosmic escape.

Ballet History and a Tutu Dream

The history of ballet on this planet is truly captivating. Did you know that ballet has been a thing here for centuries? Like, we're talking medieval centuries! The early ballet masters, those clever souls, were truly pioneering the way, developing the graceful, elegant movement style that we all adore. I’ve spent countless hours in museums here, immersed in old books and antique costumes, imagining the wonder of the first ballerinas stepping out onto those early stages.

The tutu? Well, it didn't magically appear! This incredible garment had a history of its own, evolving from something quite different - the early ladies had some serious, full skirts and panniers. But with each performance, each step, and each dancer, the design developed. By the time you got to the 18th century, well, those classic ballet forms, those romantic lines… those made me go, "Finally! A style that screams ‘Pink Tutu World'!” Just lovely!

Of course, a pink tutu aficionado such as myself must always take a closer look at the contemporary ballet tutu styles. The diversity, the variety, the innovation is mind-blowing. From the streamlined forms of modern ballet, with those fantastic streamlined lines and flowing materials, to the incredibly innovative, playful tutus created by contemporary choreographers... oh my gosh, I have so much inspiration!

Performances & Earthly Delights

Speaking of playful and inspiring... there have been some fantastic shows! Last night, I witnessed the most exquisite ballet performance at the Royal Opera House. The story, the costumes, the set - oh my darling, it was enchanting! And the ballerinas were incredible, spinning, leaping, and flying across the stage. You could see the passion, the love of movement and dance shining from every pore of those talented women. It was magical!

And honestly, I love how Earth combines this graceful form with contemporary flair. I mean, have you seen the ballet shows in the parks here? Imagine: lush green grass, beautiful, blooming flowers, a glorious backdrop for those graceful movements, all against a gorgeous sunset sky. Pure perfection!

I have also been indulging in another one of my favourite pastimes: shopping! From independent boutiques to grand department stores, Earth is truly a haven for the fashion-obsessed. I've been buying everything: from whimsical hats that I'll need to add to my "Space Voyage Looks" board, to shoes that will complete my "Next Level Tutu Glamour" wardrobe, to all the amazing pink and frilly goodies my little ballerina heart desires. This trip has been nothing short of an extravaganza!

The Cosmic Tutu Revolution

And that's the real purpose of my Earth explorations. It’s not just about the amazing performances, or even about the shopping. It’s about spreading my mission – to make the universe a more fashionable place. And honestly, I’m not sure that there's a better way to bring some extra charm to the cosmic dance than with a little pink tutu magic.

Have you seen the new tutu collections? I am totally obsessed! Think sparkly sequined, multi-layered ruffles, a splash of shimmering feathers... you can be dancing to the beat of your own drum while looking utterly gorgeous. Because I believe that wearing a tutu isn't just about fashion, darling, it's about self-expression, embracing the sparkle, and allowing your inner diva to shine. It’s about that pure joy of movement, of twirling and leaping with a big, beaming smile! And honestly, who wouldn't want a bit of that in their lives?

Stay Tuned, Sweethearts!

I’ll be back next week to tell you all about my adventures! Who knows where I’ll be exploring, or which tutu I'll be wearing!

Love always, Emma, The Pink Tutu Princess
