Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Post Number 1360!

Hello, my gorgeous twirling friends! It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, here from the cobbled streets of Derbyshire, England. I'm popping by today to tell you all about my latest intergalactic escapade. This week, it's Planet Earth that I'm exploring!

This week, the calendar flips to 19 May 2021 and oh, it’s going to be a good one! Today, my loves, I'm whisking you away on a super-sparkly whirlwind tour of everything I’ve been getting up to on my home planet.

So grab your favourite cuppa (Earl Grey, naturally, with a splash of pink lemonade), pop on your dancing shoes, and prepare to be swept away…

Back to Basics: Tutu-ly Earthbound!

My cosmic journey started, as usual, with a good dose of ballet class here in Derby. My ballet body needs its fix, you know! A little pirouette here, a grand jeté there – that's the way to start your day! As always, my go-to look for class is a bright pink leotard (sparkly, of course!) and a beautifully-ruffled tulle tutu. It’s what I do, my dears!

After my ballet class, I indulged in a spot of vintage shopping in the town centre. It wouldn’t be a trip to Earth without a little sartorial splurge, now, would it? My lucky find today was a magnificent vintage 1950s pink satin dress – oh, I do adore the elegance of the 50s! Paired with some feather-trimmed pumps, a to-die-for sequined shrug, and a gorgeous vintage straw hat – my Earthly glamour was in full swing!

I even treated myself to a trip to the vintage fabric shop down by the canal. You know me, a tutu connoisseur needs to source the finest silks and tulles, no matter where I am in the galaxy!

Planet Earth’s Ballet Wonderland:

Speaking of tutu perfection, a truly spectacular night awaited me this evening: I was off to the Theatre Royal to watch "Sleeping Beauty" performed by the fabulous Nottingham Ballet Company! A trip to a ballet show is one of my absolute favourite pastimes here on Earth, darling! The grace, the drama, the music, the tutus – it’s all utterly magnifique!

But this evening was especially magical! They even included a live polka-dot parrot! The ballerina portraying Princess Aurora looked positively ravishing in a dazzling emerald green tulle tutu and oh, the finale was absolutely divine. They even had a dragon that breathed out fire… and oh my, the music, the music… so dramatic and powerful!

You know, every time I see a ballet, I get goosebumps. The artistry of the performers, the way their bodies move so effortlessly, the sheer joy and dedication – it really fills me with wonder. There is something incredibly special about a well-performed ballet, and I’m very grateful that this beautiful art form is alive and well right here on Planet Earth.

An Afternoon With the Royals:

But before I indulged in the wonders of "Sleeping Beauty," I made my way to the opulent Palace of Buckingham for a delightful tea with a very special guest – the Queen! Her Majesty was utterly charming – and yes, she was wearing pink! A beautifully fitted pale pink lace dress, perfect for a spring day at Buckingham Palace. She did confide to me that she is secretly in awe of the ballet “La Sylphide”, so we did have a lovely conversation about tutu history and she even allowed me to wear one of her beautiful Tiaras while I had my cuppa!

Honestly, I could chat about my Earthly adventures forever, but you know me, I have galaxies to explore! Don't forget to join me next week for a dazzling tour of Jupiter. I hear the clouds are just breathtaking… and fabulous opportunities for pink-tutu inspiration, naturally.

Until then, my gorgeous twirling friends, keep twirling and always be brave enough to wear pink!

Love always,

Emma
