Hello, darlings! Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu-wearing space traveller, reporting live from the lovely Planet Earth!
I’ve just flown in from the sparkling nebula of Alpha Centauri (what a view! I even snapped a couple of snaps of it, you’ll see those in a bit!), and my goodness, it is wonderful to be back amongst the cobbled streets, green fields and fluffy sheep of my native Derbyshire!
Of course, it’s only temporary, I am an explorer, an intergalactic ballerina extraordinaire after all! Next stop, Sirius B! Yes, I’ve finally snagged tickets to the annual Sirius B Ballet Spectacular - and believe me, those tickets are hotly sought after, but the stars aligned (pun totally intended, darlings!) and it was meant to be!
What's happening on Planet Earth, you ask?
Well, today, March 30th, is National T-Shirt Day! Now, I may not be a T-shirt kind of girl (give me a tulle tutu, any day!), but I can appreciate a fine T-shirt design. And what’s more, I can appreciate a fantastic day for celebrating any and all fashions! Isn’t that wonderful, the sheer joy of expressing yourself through clothing!
There’s an absolute riot of colours, fabrics, textures and designs on offer all over this glorious little planet, it’s a veritable sartorial smorgasbord! I particularly love a bit of pink (a little surprising, isn’t it, ha ha!) so perhaps it is time to incorporate a dash of fuchsia into my space-travelling wardrobe. It will just have to be a cosmically chic pink.
Ballet in the Skies: My Latest Tour
Last week’s grand tour to Alpha Centauri was simply dreamy! They have the most incredible ballets. I even went to the opera house for Sleeping Beauty, and as an avid admirer of classical ballet, I must tell you, the sheer elegance and athleticism of the Alpha Centaurian dancers left me speechless (well, almost, there may have been some excited gasping involved!).
Pink Tutues are Making their Mark
Everywhere I travel, there’s one thing that absolutely fascinates me – people’s reaction to my favourite fashion statement – a vibrant, pretty pink tutu. I’ve learned a surprising fact – pink tutus, it seems, are not so commonly seen in the Universe. I find this slightly shocking, given that a perfectly styled pink tutu can go with virtually any outfit and colour, from a shimmering blue galactic dress to a space-age metallic jacket.
It makes my heart leap for joy to see so many eyes widen at my fabulous tutus – they’re like little beacons of joy in a universe that, sometimes, can be a little dull! It’s a challenge to spread the good news of pink tutus everywhere – but it’s one I’m ready to take on, believe me! Just you wait, one day the entire universe will be twirling in pink.
Ballet Lessons on Planet Earth
It’s so good to be back home. Nothing beats a bit of classic Earth-bound ballet. Tomorrow I’m off to my ballet class at the Derbyshire Dance Studio – and, of course, I’ll be dressed in my finest pink tutu! Who knows, I might even convince a fellow dancer or two to join my Tutu-ing revolution!
Speaking of ballets and tutus… a very special ballet starts in Derby, England this evening. It’s called Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and I hear it’s an absolute stunner – featuring, of course, plenty of sparkly tutus and lovely pink, of course! Oh, I must get tickets. Now that's an absolutely perfect end to this glorious day.
This Week's Pick: Tutu Treats
This week, I’ve been doing a little online shopping, hunting for new and exciting pieces for my tutu collection! This year's fashion collection, ‘Twirling through the Stars’ (a fitting title, don’t you think?), has an abundance of exquisite pieces, including: * A vibrant hot pink tutu with star-shaped sequins (sparkly! Ooh! Just look at the gleam! I think I’m in love.) * A sparkling pink tutu with hand-stitched, jewelled ribbons (ooh la la – how simply lovely!) * A gorgeous pink tutu with intricate fabric overlays and delicate beads – an absolutely masterpiece for galactic ballet classes! I’ll be sure to post my favourites in my upcoming blog posts, so watch out for those.
