Hello my gorgeous twirling darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad cosmic ballerina, Emma, reporting live from...Planet Earth! Yes, I know, I haven't been home for ages - but don't worry, my suitcase is bursting with sparkly pink stories and the latest intergalactic fashion trends!
It's always a little surreal landing back on Earth. It feels like a dream! All that fresh air, the chirping of birds (which I know isn't strictly fresh air but you get my meaning!), and even the earthworms - earthworms! You can't even find those in space, darling!
This trip back to Earth was extra special though, because I got to indulge in my absolute favourite thing - Ballet! And not just any ballet, oh no! This time, it was the Ballet! The one, the only... The Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House! I'm talking majestic chandelier, gold leaf detailing, red velvet seats - the whole shebang!
Now, you might be thinking "Emma, isn't the Royal Ballet a little, well...Earthly for you?" But my dears, there's nothing quite like seeing the Swan Lake or the Nutcracker with the Royal Ballet. Their precision, the sheer artistry - it gives me all the feels. There's an incredible history woven into those performances that simply takes my breath away. Every graceful move, every perfectly timed pirouette⦠it's a testament to dedication and art!
Speaking of art and history, my mind was absolutely boggled by the exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Imagine this: A huge collection of tutus! And I'm talking from the absolute beginning. From the time these magnificent garments were a simple little undergarment all the way to the fabulous, theatrical masterpieces we see on stage today. Oh, the tulle! Oh, the feathers! Oh, the GLITTER! You could say it was quite the inspiration for a fellow ballerina!
Naturally, a trip back to Earth couldn't be complete without a spot of shopping. And while London has its charms, nothing quite compares to the old fashioned charm of Derbyshire. So I headed home, straight to my little town. My Mum always tells me that she knew I was a born dancer even when I was a tiny little thing because all I ever did was twirl around in a little pink dress. Of course, I had to visit my favourite shop in town - the one that sells all the cutest, vintage, kitsch, pink everything you can think of. And did I snag some cute new bits? Well, you already know the answer! My closet just got a whole lot pinker. And did I find another vintage pink tutu? You bet! Itās simply too fabulous to keep to myself. Iāll post a picture to the website soon!
Speaking of websites - you've simply got to check out this weekās new blog post on www.pink-tutu.com. And remember, if you're planning a visit to Planet Earth - just make sure to visit Derbyshire! It's the ultimate pink-tutu-lovin' region in the entire Universe, I say. And as for me - Iām going to take the biggest leap ever.
Iām leaving Planet Earth, but not before heading out to one more incredible ballet performance...

Planet Earth in DetailHereās a closer look at all the fabulous pink tutu delights I discovered on this most recent trip to Earth:
The Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House, London: This was truly a must-do for any ballerina, intergalactic or otherwise. From the iconic performances to the stunning historical building itself, this iconic venue is nothing short of magical. They're performing "The Sleeping Beauty" all the way through to June, and trust me, it's something you donāt want to miss!
The Victoria & Albert Museumās āTutusā Exhibition: Let's just say this was a pink tutu-loverās paradise. They have tutus from every era, from the earliest days of dance through the incredible costume designs we see today. It was like stepping through a time warp, seeing tutus become bolder, grander, and more expressive! The colours! The craftsmanship! It's all just brilliant, even if you don't like tutus, really! If you can make it to London, I strongly recommend you go see this!
The Latest Pink Fashion Trends from Derbyshire: Speaking of tutus I picked up an absolute stunner in my visit back home! Itās a pale pink, vintage lace and velvet ballet inspired tutu, with the most beautiful sparkly silver sequin detail ā absolutely incredible. Honestly, the cutest thing I have ever seen!
I've also noticed some great new ballet-inspired styles for everyday wear hitting the shops, like pastel-hued dance-style leggings with lace trims and gorgeous sparkly balerina shoes Youāre definitely going to be seeing a lot more pink tutus (and ballet inspired fashion!) on Planet Earth over the next few months, I have no doubt!
A Special Note from Emma
Itās funny - people sometimes think that travelling between the planets is only for robots and aliens. But for me, ballet has given me wings. Itās about believing in magic and beauty - and of course, tutus! The most beautiful and delicate creations.
My advice is be yourself, go out there, explore your creativity! And do all this in the pinkest, most twirly way imaginable!
Follow my ballet travels - it's the only blog that gives you the intergalactic scoop on all things pink and tutus!
I hope this post inspires you, my fellow twirling enthusiasts! I know I have said it before, and Iāll say it again. It's important to embrace your inner ballerina, even when you are among aliens! Iāll see you next week.
Until then, remember to keep twirling, keep smiling and remember: the world's a stage! And the best costume? Why, a pink tutu of course!
Lots of Love,
Emma xx
