Pink Tutu World Blog - Post Number 1447 - 18th January 2023 - A Cosmic Ballet Extravaganza!

Hello, my darling tutu-lovers! It's Emma here, and guess what? It's Wednesday again, which means a brand-new Pink Tutu World blog post is landing in your inbox (and, of course, on the fabulous www.pink-tutu.com)!

As always, I've been a busy little bee this week, flitting around the galaxy in my trusty spaceship, The Ballerina. This time, I found myself exploring a truly magical corner of the cosmos - the bustling, brightly coloured, ever-so-stylish planet of… well, it's actually Earth again! But this time, my dear readers, there was a twist! It wasn’t just a typical Earth jaunt for this little ballerina – it was a total ballet extravaganza!

So, let me tell you all about it...

This trip was all about embracing my love for ballet, for the vibrant theatre scene, and for those incredible, beautiful, utterly magical dresses. Think swirling tulle, sparkly sequins, and a touch of that glorious, eye-catching pink - the ultimate combination for this pink-obsessed gal!

This time, my planetary mission was all about ballet – yes, you heard right! I took the opportunity to indulge my inner ballerina by visiting the Royal Opera House in London – such a fabulously classic, yet ultra-glam venue. Just imagine the swirling, shimmering grandeur of a truly stunning theatre – all glittering chandeliers and red plush seats! Just heavenly!

You might be wondering why I headed for London instead of exploring a more exotic, intergalactic locale? Well, there’s no place on Earth quite as glamorous as the London theatre scene! This time around, the draw was a particularly special performance - the Ballet’s production of Giselle.

Now, if you haven’t heard of this ballet classic, you need to run (don’t walk!) to a ballet theatre near you, pronto! The music is gorgeous, the dancing exquisite – just heavenly! It’s about the story of Giselle, a young country girl who is trapped by an evil sorceress called Myrtha, who leads a ballet of other forsaken girls! They are condemned to spend eternity dancing, until the moment a man is utterly devoted to a single woman. This story, my darlings, is ballet at its finest!

You can’t help but get swept away by Giselle's beautiful, heart-wrenching tale of love and heartbreak, set to one of the most captivating musical scores of all time. The romantic melodies that flowed through the theater transported me right to the very heart of the performance - oh, how utterly fabulous it was!

And, of course, there were some seriously stunning costumes, too! We're talking about swirling skirts of tulle in the most delicious hues, from misty grey and cream, through delicate greens and whites, to an abundance of sparkling pink! Just imagine the sheer volume of beautiful fabric – enough to create a pink tutu paradise!

I just knew I had to add some of these magical, theatrical touches to my own personal look! I picked up a rather fabulous pink tutu from my favourite little shop on Kensington High Street – it's my mission in life to find new tutus for all occasions. (And believe me, darling, there are enough occasions in a ballerina's life for one tutu, two tutus, and a whole spaceship-full of tutus!)

Let’s be honest, London never fails to deliver – you just can’t beat a dash of fashion-forward thinking to match that exquisite stage glamour. Even better, I discovered an absolutely incredible dancewear shop – tucked away in Covent Garden, hidden from prying eyes, it's truly a hidden gem. With my brand new pink tutu sitting comfortably in my ballet bag, I knew exactly where I needed to go.

Oh my goodness, this little shop was a vintage dancewear dream! Just picture piles upon piles of glorious tulle, silk, and velvet! The most delicious blend of silvery metallic, deep reds and purples, and of course, my signature pink! It was like a tutu-tastic treasure trove! There were enough sequins, jewels, and feathers to dazzle the entire universe!

The best bit, dear readers? I managed to snag some amazing bargains - and I'm definitely keeping it a secret - just for you lovely Pink Tutu World readers. You'll just have to wait for next week's post, when I'll be spilling the tea! I'll also tell you about a delightful little restaurant just off Picadilly - but I won’t give too much away, I just want to keep this one under wraps – it’s so special!

There’s nothing quite like taking a few days to enjoy the best that London can offer - those historic cobbled streets, that quintessential British charm, and of course, all the delightful people - so kind, so wonderfully fashionable. And speaking of kind, there are so many generous, thoughtful readers out there - sending lovely comments on my Pink Tutu World website www.pink-tutu.com. You’ve all been so generous and encouraging – truly lovely, you make this ballerina so happy!

Next up? Well, who knows? Perhaps a voyage to Mars? Maybe a dazzling tour of Mercury? You'll just have to join me for the next adventure - and who knows what glorious, pink, sparkly, tutu-tastic experiences await?

Now, for all my darlings out there, I have a few pieces of cosmic advice. Be sure to find a little something pink, whether it's a new lipstick, a shimmering sequin, or even just a pretty flower! Remember, the only thing more magical than a pink tutu is you, my gorgeous friends. Until next week, when I’ll be bringing you another week of pinktastic happenings - keep smiling and sparkling, and may your lives be filled with the joy of dance!
