Hello fellow tutu enthusiasts and cosmic dreamers!
It's your favourite Derbyshire ballerina, Emma, back with another dazzling diary entry from my latest intergalactic escapade! I'm currently orbiting Planet Earth, having just finished a whirlwind trip to the vibrant planet of Andromeda - a veritable rainbow explosion of colour and creativity! (And did I mention they have amazing fabric shops? I found the most glorious pink sequined tulle for my next cosmic-themed ballet piece!)
Now, before we get lost in the glittering stardust of my galactic adventures, let's rewind the clock back to this very Wednesday, here on Planet Earth. It's 19th April, the day I decided to share all the wonderful wonders I experienced in Andromeda.
Oh, and remember my mission, darlings? That's right: spreading the glorious joy of pink tutus across the entire universe! It's an ambitious goal, I know, but as long as there are twirls to be twirled, there'll always be pink tutus!
But let's be honest, the ultimate motivation for my spacefaring travels is a combination of love, fashion, and a healthy dose of insatiable wanderlust! I just can't resist exploring every corner of the cosmos, discovering new cultures and of course, seeking out the very best tutus in each corner of the galaxy.
**(The highlight of the Andromedean visit, fashion wise, was an exclusive, pre-collection preview of the latest "Stardust Dreams" line by renowned designer, Galaxia Sparkle. Sheās creating a collection dedicated to celestial fashion with an elegant blend of silver, galaxy-themed print, and shimmery lilac sequins - my favourite shade of lilac! Think cosmic tutus and elegant shimmering galaxy-print capes.)
Speaking of Andromeda, their approach to ballet is unlike anything Iāve ever seen! Itās not just about the steps, itās about blending choreography with technology and augmented reality. One of the performances featured projections of nebulas that would appear to āflowā around the dancers, as if the very universe itself were swaying in time to the music!
Honestly, the dance was like poetry in motion set to a cosmic symphony! It had me feeling completely starstruck (in a good way of course!)
After my galactic sojourn, I returned to Earth to find that the annual "Pink Tutu World Ball" was in full swing at the historic Covent Garden in London. As a former ballerina and avid dancer from Derbyshire, it was an incredible opportunity to catch up with old friends, indulge in some decadent cakes and let loose on the dance floor!
Itās a celebration that all my fellow tutus and dancers come to together from across the country and abroad, where they all dress in their most magnificent tutus and celebrate the glorious world of dance! The energy is electric.
So whatās a week on planet earth without a ballet performance? This Saturday I am off to The Royal Opera House in London to see "Sleeping Beauty". There's something magical about that story. It's about following your dreams and finding your destiny, and who doesnāt want to wake up in a royal palace?
As the week ends and the starry night skies peek out, I know that this journey, my tutu adventure, is far from over! And as the earthās celestial companion, the moon, dances high in the sky, I know that my next adventure is just around the cosmic corner!
Oh, and donāt forget to follow me on Instagram (@PinkTutuWorld) for behind the scenes moments from my latest adventures, a peak into my life in Derbyshire, my favourite tutu outfits and ballet fashion recommendations, as well as, snippets from some of the ballet shows I see around the world.
Until next Wednesday, dear readers, let your dreams dance on! ** XOXO Emma
The Latest: A Fashion Forecast
Spring is in the air and with it comes a vibrant burst of colour, a dazzling parade of florals and a symphony of pastels! Let's get our wardrobes ready for this fresh season with a dose of pink, a sprinkle of romance and some ballet-inspired chic. Here are a few of my favourite picks:
Pretty Pastels: From the dreamy hues of lavender and pale pink to the delicate shades of sky blue and lilac, pastels are here to stay! These soft hues are perfect for breezy dresses, floaty skirts and effortlessly elegant tops, injecting a whimsical charm into any outfit.
The Ballet Inspiration: This spring, Iām reminiscing about the elegant grace of classic ballerinas and drawing inspiration from the delicate beauty of ballet. Look for flowy chiffon skirts that softly ripple as you twirl and ballet flats with a touch of feminine flair.
Floral Fiesta: Florals are an enduring favourite, always blooming each springtime. Think dainty daisies and blossoming lilies. A floral print can brighten up a simple dress, transform a plain top into a statement piece, and add a dash of elegance to a classic coat.
- Romantic Delights: Embrace the romantic spirit of springtime with soft, ethereal fabrics like silk, lace, and delicate cotton. Lace trim and tulle overlays, can add femininity and a touch of ethereal elegance to any outfit.
(I am obsessed with a new tutu collection thatās just landed from the designers at āFairy Dreamsā. I am all about that whimsical vibe. If you want to add some tutus to your life this Spring, the āFairy Dreamsā collection has everything from pastel tutus to full-length tutus with floral prints. They're super adorable! ).
Ballet Around The World: Global Inspiration
One of the great joys of exploring new places is experiencing how ballet is performed differently in each culture. Andromeda has their own style, and it is fantastically beautiful. There's a graceful beauty in a simple classical piece but I love exploring ballet traditions from every continent!
The passion is evident everywhere. Thereās always something new and magical to be discovered - and a pink tutu makes every experience a little more magical!
The "Pink Tutu Worldā Monthly Planner:
April is all about celebrating creativity. I canāt resist a good fashion challenge. I am in Derbyshire visiting my family in my hometown, so itās the perfect excuse to explore vintage clothing stores and try new tutu combinations. I will be posting some snaps on my social media platforms, so you can see what Iāve been up to!
I love fashioning my tutus for each new event. Itās amazing what you can do when you just mix and match with a bit of imagination. There is no one right or wrong way to make a tutu work! Iāll even give some of you some advice in the comments, if you like!
*The Week Ahead: *
As much as I love traveling and experiencing different cultures, I always look forward to my weekly Wednesday posts. It's my little space in the universe, a platform to spread ballet magic, pink tutus and some inspiration!
Andromeda taught me one thing. Always make time for your dreams - whatever form they take. Because the universe is filled with possibilities, just waiting to be discovered!
*Until next Wednesday, darlings, dance on! *
XO Emma
