Hello, darlings! Itās Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina blogger, back with another post from the cosmic corners of our vast and wonderful universe! This week, Iām absolutely buzzing to share some of the highlights from my recent trip back to good old planet Earth.
As many of you know, I love travelling the cosmos. Iām always looking for new galaxies to explore, new star systems to discover, new lifeforms to admire, and most importantly, new dance cultures to experience. But no matter how far I roam, thereās nothing quite like coming home to my very own planet, Earth.
You see, Earth has a certain charm about it. From the green of the meadows to the sapphire of the ocean, to the warm sun-kissed skies, itās a world that constantly inspires my creativity. Plus, as you know, I have a soft spot for a little bit of ballet history, and where better to dive into that than on the very planet where ballet originated?
This particular journey began on May 10th. I always feel like Earth has a special vibe in the springtime, with its delicate blossoms and the scent of freshly mown lawns. After an invigorating session of pirouettes under the celestial glow of a full moon (my dance warm-up is an essential part of any interstellar trip), I boarded my spaceship and zoomed off to our little blue planet.
I landed right outside my cosy little home in Derbyshire, England ā youāll never believe what a lovely day it was! Sunshine streaming through the window, the birds singing in the trees⦠perfect for a classic English afternoon tea with my lovely mum, which I simply adore! We shared a delightful scone, enjoyed a spot of gossip, and had the most lovely conversation. After a warm welcome and a hug, I was feeling very much back in my element.
But a trip home wouldn't be complete without a dose of my absolute favourite things: ballet and fashion. First stop, the majestic Royal Opera House in London, darling! You know me, I just adore a classic ballet. This time around, I was captivated by a performance of āGiselle,ā with its poignant story of love and loss and its heart-stopping, graceful choreography. My personal highlight, as always, was the beautiful romanticism of the corps de ballet dancers. They were simply sublime!
You see, watching dancers express themselves with such raw talent is what truly ignites my soul. Ballet isn't just about leaps and twirls; itās about expressing emotions, about telling stories, about conveying a feeling, a passion, an emotion that transcends the boundaries of language and understanding. Itās why I am so dedicated to spreading the love of dance, in every corner of the universe.
After the breathtaking show, it was time to indulge in a bit of Londonās iconic fashion scene, and what better way than a day of luxurious shopping at Liberty? This exquisite department store is a haven of colour, textures, and styles, so obviously I found myself captivated.
They had this breathtaking new collection of vintage-inspired gowns and dresses, featuring beautiful, hand-embroidered embellishments, floral lace, and vibrant jewel-toned silk. Oh my darling, it was simply glorious! I picked up this absolutely stunning crimson velvet dress, and an embroidered pink tutu adorned with sequins ā itās going to be perfect for my next performance.
This visit, however, wasnāt all about watching shows and splurging on fashion. Oh no! It was also about connecting with the vibrant community of Earthās ballet scene. I popped into my old dance studio in Derby, which holds such a special place in my heart. Remember my very first ballerina dress and that sweet little tutu, the one that ignited my love for dancing? That's where it all started! They had just held their annual recital, and I felt such a wave of nostalgia as I looked at the young faces shining with excitement and the dedication in their eyes. They reminded me of myself when I was just starting out, filled with dreams and excitement.
My little trip back home was nothing short of magical. But you know me, I simply canāt stay away for long. There are countless planets to discover, galaxies to explore, and new audiences to enthrall! Until my next blog post, darlings, continue to dance your hearts out and remember to wear your pink tutu with pride, because we are all part of this magical world of ballet!

Emma xoxo
