Hey lovelies! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad, cosmically-curious ballerina, bringing you another Wednesday blog post from planet Earth!
It feels like ages since I've been back on this beautiful little blue planet, but honestly, I can't believe how much I missed it. My heart always yearns for a proper cuppa and a good old chinwag, and let's face it, who doesn't love a bit of ballet back home?
This time around, I'm on a special mission. I'm here to celebrate all things ballet on Earth, in my beloved pink tutu of course! Because even with my intergalactic adventures, I never forget my roots. And it seems like Earthlings are getting just as into pink tutus as the rest of the universe.
Pink Tutu Fashion Inspiration
Speaking of tutus, let's talk fashion! I was lucky enough to catch the opening night of the Royal Ballet's new production of Swan Lake here in London. Oh my goodness, those costumes! Absolutely stunning! Talk about tutus of dreams, they were exquisite!
I absolutely adore seeing how designers interpret ballet costumes. The Royal Ballet really stepped it up, blending tradition with modern twists. And, of course, I loved how they brought pops of pink throughout. They even had this glorious pale pink feather boa that swayed like the waves, giving the swans an ethereal feel.
My outfit for the occasion was an absolute masterpiece! I paired my signature bubblegum pink tulle tutu with a sparkling lilac crop top and sparkly ballet flats with a hint of glitter. I can't resist a bit of glitter, it just makes me feel like a princess, and trust me, when you're wearing a pink tutu, you might as well feel like royalty!
This is just a sneak peek, I'll be posting a full-blown outfit breakdown with tons of pics on Instagram! Follow me @pinktutueemma for all the fashion-forward details, loves.
Ballet Beyond The Stage: Finding The Beauty Everywhere
And let's be honest, there's way more to ballet than just fancy tutus and grand ballets! This week, I ventured off to the National Gallery. My dear friends, ballet is truly EVERYWHERE if you know where to look.
Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this magnificent painting depicting a 17th-century dance lesson. A bunch of elegant ladies in flowing robes were learning graceful ballet moves. That's when it dawned on me! These elegant dance poses, they are like ballet freezes in time! Just with a sprinkle of Renaissance flavour!
After admiring all the artistry, I made my way to the bustling heart of London's Covent Garden, which was actually named after its beautiful, flower-filled Covent Garden market! Right in the midst of this flower wonderland, there's a lovely outdoor space. Guess what I found there? Street performers, performing ballet to the delight of onlookers.
Talk about magical moments. The energy, the skill, the music swirling with the perfume of blooming flowers... I had to do a pirouette, I simply couldn't help it.
Tutu Travels: London To Paris And Back AgainAfter indulging in my love for all things ballet here in London, I was back on my spaceship, headed to the City of Lights. Of course, my spaceship is super stylish, like a sleek pink Cadillac with space-age engines.
Paris, ooh la la, it's always such a romantic adventure. It's a true wonderland of ballet. There was a magical show at the OpΓ©ra Garnier β a real show-stopper, if you will β that made my toes tap, my heart soar, and my eyes water. It was like watching a constellation of beautiful stars dance before my eyes. I found this exquisite pink satin scarf in the Parisian markets with delicate embellishments, which just screams ballet glamour! I just knew I needed to add it to my collection.
Oh, and speaking of Paris... guess who happened to bump into Dita Von Teese while wandering around? We were both gazing up at the Eiffel Tower, a classic Parisian icon. It was truly an enchanting moment. We even had a chat about ballet. Her admiration for dance is truly inspiring.
After soaking in Parisian charm, it was time to fly back to planet Earth. My adventures never end!
Finding Ballet Everywhere You Go
There you have it, my dear followers! Whether it's in grand theatres or hidden gardens, or in paintings in galleries, ballet is simply everywhere if you know where to look. You can feel the magic in every move!
Don't forget, you don't have to be a ballerina to experience this. You just have to find your own ballet, whether that's in nature, art, music, or even just your daily life. And who knows, maybe youβll be inspired to try out a ballet class β youβll have a brilliant time, darling!
Do you have a favourite ballet or ballerina? What's the most unexpected place you've seen a bit of ballet magic? I want to hear all about it! Leave a comment below.
Until next week,
Keep twirling and shining! π
Love,
Emma
