Hello darlings! ππ It's your favourite tutu-clad space explorer, Emma, here, ready to whisk you away on a whirlwind tour of another celestial ballet adventure! As you know, this week I'm back on dear old Planet Earth, swapping the shimmering nebulae and glittering asteroids for good old-fashioned cobblestones and charming cafes (oh, the joy of a proper cuppa after months of intergalactic space smoothies!). βοΈ
This week, the cosmic calendar marked Tuesday 2nd October 2024. And you know what that means?
The return of my favourite show - Ballet on Planet Earth! β¨
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Ballet on Planet Earth? Surely that's just, well... ballet?"
Oh my dear, darling, you just haven't seen it in the right light (and by light, I mean, of course, the stunning spotlight that bathes the stage of the Royal Opera House!). You see, Ballet on Planet Earth isn't just about the classical, the graceful, the exquisite - though trust me, it's got plenty of that too! It's also about bringing together all those captivating ballet troupes, legendary choreographers, and fabulous dancers from every corner of this wonderful world (and some surprising corners of others!)
Let me tell you, seeing those incredible ballet performers, dressed in dazzling tutus and exquisite costumes, twirling across the stage with such precision and beauty, was an absolute dream. Their talent is nothing short of magical - it's enough to make even the most stoic, sensible person in the room want to twirl a few times and twirl they did! π©°
Speaking of magic, let's chat about my outfit, because dear reader, we can't talk about a trip to Ballet on Planet Earth without addressing the most important detail - my pink tutu!
This week I chose a bespoke masterpiece created by my favourite tutu atelier back in Derby, Miss Buttercup's Bespoke Couture. She truly understands a pink-loving girl like myself and whipped me up a creation fit for a cosmic princess: A frothy explosion of pale pink tulle, layered and billowing, with just a hint of a swirling galaxy pattern, giving it an ethereal, intergalactic touch. I paired it with my classic, sparkling pink ballet shoes, just the right shade of sparkly to capture the twinkle in the ballerinas' eyes. Of course, no look is complete without my signature glittering, pearl-encrusted tiara, a perfect embodiment of celestial flair! π«
A ballet enthusiast and tutu devotee through and through, my journey to Ballet on Planet Earth had already begun before stepping foot in the iconic theatre! From the moment I donned my bespoke tutu, I felt transported into a world of enchantment. I even got a few knowing glances from fellow passengers on my spaceship, a stylish vessel that transports me around the galaxy! They even had pink lights to enhance my already radiant look!
*Before we even stepped inside, the energy of Ballet on Planet Earth was contagious. * Every corner of Covent Garden was pulsing with anticipation, with excited whispers and rustling programmes. It was like the whole world was ready to witness something truly spectacular!
I, of course, was more than ready to be swept away by the beauty, grace, and magic that only the ballet could provide. β¨
As I glided into the theatre, a feeling of pure exhilaration coursed through me. The grandeur of the venue itself is something to behold - grand, ornate, with soaring ceilings, gilt-trimmed balconies, and crimson velvet seats that seemed to beckon you to lose yourself in the performance. The entire atmosphere felt magical and inviting. β¨
Now, this particular evening was a special one, featuring "A Midsummer Night's Dream." And just as the night unfolded, the magic of ballet transported us all into a whimsical world filled with delicate, floating movements, sparks of passion, and even a mischievous puck (in a shimmering tutu of course!) My personal favourite piece was, as you can probably guess, the dreamlike and exquisite ballerina's βMoonlight Sonata" scene. I nearly wept tears of joy watching those sublimely beautiful ballerinas, twirling under the soft moonlight of a special stage lighting. π«
And yes, I managed to snag a fabulous pair of sparkly pink ballet shoes after the performance, perfect for my next big adventure.
I am absolutely thrilled that I could return to Planet Earth to witness "Ballet on Planet Earth," it is such a remarkable and wonderful event that fills me with a sense of delight. From the twinkling spotlights and shimmering stage curtains to the exquisitely designed tutus worn by the performers, it truly feels as though a bit of fairyland magic has been brought down to earth. I, for one, will never get tired of feeling that magic, even after all of my travels across the universe.
I love sharing these experiences with all of you. After all, my ultimate mission remains to spread the joy and beauty of ballet, one pink tutu at a time. I'm certain, with enough sparkly enthusiasm, I will eventually convince everyone in the entire universe to embrace their inner tutu-wearer. π©°
And as for this Earth-bound blogger? Well, it's back to my desk, to write about my adventures and inspire all you lovelies to embrace a little bit of sparkle in your lives. β¨
Until next time, stay fabulous, stay sparkling, and remember... It's always tutu time! π
