Hello, my darling darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the most fabulous planet in the whole universe ā Planet Earth. I just know you're all eagerly awaiting my latest blog post after a rather epic space adventure! Buckle up, darlings, because this week's story is one for the tutu-tagram.
Oh, darling, what a whirlwind week it's been! We landed back on Planet Earth last night, exhausted but oh-so-thrilled with all the incredible things we've experienced on our travels. You see, this week, we ventured back to the celestial sphere that is Derbyshire, where it all began. My heart practically burst with joy seeing those green fields, hearing the sound of robins singing their little hearts out, and yes, even feeling the damp drizzle on my cheek. Derbyshire, with its rolling hills and cobblestone streets, is a true gem of a place. But first, let's talk about the main event - my trip back to my beloved planet! It was the perfect time to get back home for a couple of reasons!
Firstly, the 22nd of October is an exceptionally exciting day for dance lovers ā and dare I say, a good old-fashioned pink tutu aficionado ā it's the anniversary of Margot Fonteyn's birthday. This legendary ballerina, with her flawless technique and divine grace, inspires me every single day. I simply had to be on Planet Earth to pay homage to her memory and perhaps squeeze in a couple of ballet performances at the Royal Opera House! And, I know this will tickle your fancy, darlings ā what a treat it was to browse the shops at Harrods on a Wednesday, to enjoy the fashion delights, and admire all the glittering dresses and the beautiful couture gowns! Oh my! Just heavenly! This week was definitely a bit of a treat and I really felt like I was stepping into the 1950s. There are just some places and atmospheres that are pure magic!
Before I tell you all about my adventures in London, letās take a trip back in time, darlings, and go back to my original landing site - the little-known Planet Zorb! We made quite the impression in this far-flung galaxy! As always, my pink tutu (this week it was the glorious āCandy floss Cloudā tutu from the Space Station boutique) was the main attraction. Planet Zorb's inhabitants were enthralled, let me tell you, they've never seen anything like a pink tutu! And guess what? Their favourite colours were pink, fuchsia, violet and red! Planet Zorb was basically one giant explosion of colour! Oh, and can we talk about their spaceship-themed jewellery? Simply spectacular! Imagine earrings shaped like starships and pendants made of celestial maps! I literally gasped at how stunning they were and immediately scooped them up. I knew you all would adore them!
Next stop was the breathtaking, but slightly dusty, Planet Andromeda, where we joined a breathtaking fashion show filled with shimmering silks, swirling metallics, and the most exquisite metallic tutu outfits - even more fabulous than anything I've ever seen on Earth. It really inspired me to get back in the studio to design some of my own pieces. Planet Andromeda reminded me, my lovelies, that fashion is truly an art form, an expression of our individuality, and of course, an excuse for a lot of fun! Iāll have to post a whole new post with my new collection for your reading and shopping pleasure - and itās coming soon! My latest creations will include celestial silk scarves with planetary details and of course, more amazing tulle tutus. Think glitter and sparkly constellations, dear friends! I canāt wait to reveal the latest from the Pink Tutu World studio - theyāre coming very soon!
Anyway, letās get back to my London escapades. There is truly something enchanting about this historic metropolis! Thereās a palpable energy that just pulsates through every street. Of course, I had to pop into Covent Garden to immerse myself in the atmosphere. This iconic marketplace has always had a special place in my heart, itās practically a fairytale haven with its cobbled squares, lively performers, and captivating atmosphere! Oh, and I have to confess - there were some delightful vintage shops too, and who could resist some exquisite tutus that practically shouted at me to take them home? And for a budding ballerina, how can you possibly say no to tutus?! Oh, and the delicious scent of freshly made roasted coffee! Heaven!
What else, oh, yes! It was absolutely wonderful to be back in my old dance studio. You wouldnāt believe what happens when you're back in your element ā suddenly I'm in the studio in the middle of a session! I hadnāt realized just how much Iāve missed it until I was back at the barre! But trust me, after being on so many intergalactic adventures, my fellow ballerinas gave me some pretty challenging dance routines, especially in the plie exercises! After that workout I really needed my cuppa and the legendary warm apple crumble and custard that is made every day at my local cafe, The Pink Tutu Bake Shop ā another perfect escape to savour.
Anyway, thatās all for this week, and please let me know what youāre wearing - whether it be pink, sparkly or not, I want to know! As always, until next Wednesday, darlings, remember to spread kindness, dance like no oneās watching, and most importantly, wear a pink tutu and be unapologetically fabulous!
Emma xx
