Oh darling, hello from planet Earth! Fancy a cuppa? Grab a scone, settle in, and let me tell you all about my latest adventure, because let’s be honest, my dear, it’s simply divine. As usual, we're posting on Wednesday, the perfect day for a bit of ballet gossip and space-age glamour. It's a tad chilly here in Derbyshire, which only makes me long for the celestial sunshine that's always on the menu during my travels!
But before I spill the deets on this trip, let’s address the tutu, shall we? It’s a very special one, this time, you see. A veritable masterpiece of fluffy pink perfection, crafted by my darling friend, Clara, back on Earth. We had quite the tea party session at her atelier, talking all things tutu while sipping endless cups of Earl Grey and trying on fabric after fabulous fabric. It’s all about the bounce, darling, you know! And the twirl-ability! A ballerina’s gotta be prepared for a galactic twirl.
Speaking of twirling, the whole adventure began with a particularly sensational performance I did at the Royal Albert Hall. You wouldn’t believe the buzz, the applause! Oh, my darling, I truly feel like I’m born to dance. The show raised enough to fund my trip, a trip I'd been dreaming of for ages! To be fair, I do it all for the pink tutu love – every sparkly diamond on this little pink frock fuels my passion. So, back to the spaceship! A magnificent vessel she is, glittering and gleaming, named the "Ballerina’s Bounce" (naturally). My cosmic crew - the fabulous Mr. Jupiter, my ever-so-charming navigator, and little Lucy, the most enthusiastic dance-loving space sprite you could imagine - we're ready for liftoff.
We touched down in... well, I'm not going to tell you just yet. Let's keep a touch of mystery, shall we? The point is, the place itself is dazzling. This little planet boasts breathtaking vistas and vibrant colour - perfect for my new pink tutu! They're big on music here too, and they absolutely love a bit of ballet. It’s lovely, actually, to find something universal like dance! And they don’t just like it, they adore it!
So, on the first evening, I headed straight for the local dance studio. They have this enchanting tradition - every Monday, everyone is encouraged to wear their finest pink tutus, with the proceeds going to a charity that supports ballet education for little space bunnies. We danced till dawn under the moonlit skies. It was incredible! Everyone embraced the pink tutus with such joy - it made my little ballerina heart truly soar.
Then, there's the shopping. Oh, the shopping! You simply cannot leave this little corner of the universe without indulging. Every store, a galaxy of sparkling colours and exquisite materials. I picked up a pair of fabulous, cosmically sparkly, space-age ballet shoes for a very reasonable cosmic credit. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s this incredible designer on the planet who’s doing some pretty spectacular tutus with luminous, star-dust inspired fabrics. It was practically begging me to add to my collection! And who am I to refuse? (More about the new tutu in a future blog post!)
As for this particular Tuesday - we had a date with the world's most magnificent Ballet Theatre. Picture this: the grandest building, dripping with silver, adorned with the most out-of-this-world, crystal-covered chandeliers. The performers were sublime - every movement, a celestial ballet of perfect elegance. Oh, my dear, it brought tears to my eyes, as only a beautiful ballet performance can! You'd think with my constant touring I would tire of ballet shows, but I simply can't!
And what will tomorrow bring? Well, who knows! But let’s just say there are whispers of a spectacular, planet-wide masquerade ball. With a dress code - guess what, darlings - a pink tutu! You've got to love a universe where pink tutus reign supreme.
But as much as I love the adventures, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of coming home. Back to Derbyshire, my little corner of planet Earth. Soon enough, I'll be back in my beloved little ballet studio, teaching those little angels all about the beauty of twirling and the power of pink tutus! But until then, let's keep the celestial gossip going. You can find me every Wednesday over on www.pink-tutu.com - or drop me a comment below! Until then, let’s keep the dream alive!
Love, Emma
Outfit details: As mentioned, my dear, this week's pink tutu is the masterpiece that is "Clara's Creation". The skirt is a billowing cloud of soft tulle, meticulously crafted in multiple layers to achieve that iconic bouncy perfection, all finished with sparkling pink embellishments that sparkle like celestial fireflies. As for the top - it’s an exquisite lace bustier with a beautiful silver-toned embroidery that reminds me of distant constellations! I love the way it sets off the delicate beauty of the tulle skirt! The colour, my dear, the colour is beyond words.
