Hello my darlings!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous instalment of Pink Tutu World, your one-stop shop for all things tutu-rific! Today, I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement as I'm finally back on Planet Earth after an absolutely breathtaking, glittery, and entirely pink intergalactic adventure!
For those of you just joining us, you might be wondering, "Emma, you’re a ballerina! How on earth did you travel the stars?" Well, dear reader, let me tell you! Ever since I was a little girl twirling in my bedroom, dreaming of pirouettes under a glittering sky, I’ve always had this desire to see beyond our little corner of the universe. My mum would often say, "Emma, dear, maybe settle for the Royal Opera House first," but I knew that one day, I’d be reaching for the stars – and all thanks to ballet, of course!
I've been making a good living doing what I love – twirling in the most glorious tutus and performing ballet for crowds across the globe. Between touring with the Derbyshire Dance Ensemble, performing on Broadway, and even a few little numbers in Paris (which, let me tell you, were nothing short of magnifique!), I've been squirreling away my hard-earned glitter for the most spectacular, whimsical spaceship journey imaginable. It’s a truly pink masterpiece – all the sparkles, fluffy cushions, and mirrored surfaces that a ballerina could dream of. I’ve named her "The Tutuship". You should see the custom pink tulle canopy for the sunbeds!
So, where in the galaxy did I land up this time? Well, imagine my delight when I found myself on a breathtakingly beautiful, vibrant, and oh-so-pink planet called Aurora. Aurora is like a living kaleidoscope – think glittering rivers of pink liquid crystals, vibrant magenta fields, and towering sapphire trees. Everything sparkled and shimmered! It was a ballerina's dream! I mean, the pink was almost too pink, if you can imagine!
I arrived in time for their annual "Intergalactic Ballet Ball," an incredible event where all sorts of interplanetary dancers (wearing a delightful range of out-of-this-world tutus, of course) gathered for an incredible ballet competition. Naturally, I decided to join in!
And let me tell you, these cosmic creatures knew how to move! There was the Lyrionian dancer who performed a ballet piece mimicking the breathtakingly beautiful dance of the nebula, a truly celestial spectacle! Then there was the Kriosian who gracefully spun across the stage with his long, shimmery tendrils, performing a stunning choreography about their amazing symbiotic relationship with their unique crystal formations.
But of course, the one thing I did struggle with was the language! Communication was rather…cosmic, shall we say. Imagine a very fast version of pigeon with high pitched, very complex whistles. Don't get me wrong, it's all about embracing diversity, dear reader, and you bet I'll be learning a few whistles for my next post!
A Tutu Fashionable Tip from Emma!
If you want to go intergalactic dancing, always wear a pink tutu! It just makes you more adaptable in any cosmic environment. It seems the shade pink is more universal than you think!
And now for the Fashion news from Planet Earth. What’s going on in the wonderful world of ballet this week? It’s a good one! Tuesday the 7th (that’s tomorrow, darling!), the legendary ballet La Sylphide is taking to the stage at the London Coliseum. Now, that is going to be a spectacle! La Sylphide is an iconic work - so much history wrapped up in a single work, a must-see for any true ballet enthusiast, no matter the colour of your tutu. I am heading over, so let me know if you want to come.
I can't wait to hear all about your tutu-filled escapades! Tell me your favourite places to visit here on Earth or in space, your must-have pink outfits, and any tips for future interstellar ballet adventures.
Until next Wednesday, my dearest reader, stay fabulously tutu-rific!
Lots of love, Emma XOXO
