Pink Tutu World Blog Post #1728: Ballet on Planet Earth! 🩰✨

Hello my gorgeous Tutu Tribe! πŸ‘‹ It's Emma, your pinkest and twirliest space-faring ballerina, back from a whirlwind trip around Planet Earth, and oh my, what a delightful adventure it's been! 🌍

This week, I'm going full "Planet Earth" as I've been whisked away by a fabulous offer to dance for the 7th International Ballet Festival of Earth in the vibrant metropolis of London! πŸŽ‰ And you know what that means? Tutu shopping! πŸ’–βœ¨

I'm a firm believer in celebrating the most spectacular things about our planet – which, as any true tutu devotee knows, includes the art of ballet. 🩰 This year's festival has an incredible lineup. You've got everything from the breathtaking Royal Ballet's Swan Lake, a brand-new, tech-infused production of Giselle, to the dazzling spectacle of the contemporary dance company, D&B's "Interstellar Dreams", a piece guaranteed to transport you straight into the starry night. 🀩 The energy here is truly electrifying!

But before I launch into all the delicious details of the ballet extravaganza, I wanted to share a little something about my travels. It's not every day a girl gets to zoom around on a spaceship! πŸͺ I took the super sleek, rose-gold "Venus Flyer" (of course it was pink) - the fastest model on the market. It comes with a panoramic viewing dome, so you can gaze at the most glorious starry landscapes - perfect for enjoying a pre-performance snack of interstellar fairy cakes, if you know what I mean. 🀫🀫

Speaking of travel, a lot of you have been asking about my funding for these out-of-this-world journeys. Let's just say that ballet is my super power! πŸ’ƒπŸ» The Universe is definitely a fan of twirling. My favourite venue so far has been the Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris. I don't know about you lovelies, but those Frenchies really know how to appreciate a good tutu! πŸ’– Every night, after my performance, the audience showers me with gifts - celestial glitter, galaxy gems, and you won't believe this - an actual piece of the moon! Seriously, I could decorate my entire spaceship with the sheer volume of gifts. (My friends think I need more space! πŸ˜…)

Now, back to London. Where to start? I have so many recommendations for you fabulous tutu tribe. I think the ultimate London Ballet experience is the Royal Opera House, a majestic Victorian theatre, filled with grand chandeliers and beautiful red velvet seats. It’s definitely worth visiting just to see the stunning architecture, but don't even get me started on the exquisite ballets! You might find me enjoying some tea and cake at the world famous Fortnum and Mason, nestled right next door to the Royal Opera House, then taking in a matinee show of The Nutcracker – such a festive treat! πŸŽ„ For a little more contemporary style, you should absolutely head to the Sadler's Wells Theatre. Their innovative programs and dynamic dance style really showcase the cutting-edge of ballet.

While I was there, I did some major London fashion shopping (can you even imagine the tutu opportunities? Oh yes! sparkles) One of my favourite finds was this stunning silver dress with sparkling sequin details, and of course, it would only be complete with my very special new creation - a custom-made tutu, completely made of iridescent feathers! πŸ’–πŸͺΆ Absolutely heavenly. My advice is to check out Liberty London – their design ethos is just chef’s kiss. I think we all need a touch of Liberty in our lives, am I right?!

After all that sightseeing, my ballet muscles were craving some stretching, so I went to The Place, the renowned London Contemporary Dance School, for a little warm-up and a dance lesson! 🀩 You’ll be amazed at the incredible skill and passion you encounter in that space. They offer a range of classes for every level – even absolute beginners like me! – so it's the perfect opportunity to experience the vibrant heart of contemporary ballet.

*Here are a few tips for all my ballerina buds planning to dance on Earth: *

  • Pack those sparkle shoes! Seriously, you can never have too much shimmer. I’m always surprised how some girls on Earth go for that boring old brown or black! 😜😜 (Okay, okay, I know everyone's got their own taste... but maybe I could convince them, eh?)
  • Bring a good quality tulle skirt or tutu for spontaneous twirls. (Yes, it's essential!). You'll never know when a flash mob might break out. Trust me, you will want to join in.
  • Get yourself a comfy pair of sparkly flats (pink of course!) to give your feet a little break from those pointy shoes.
  • Be prepared for some unexpected adventures. Every corner of Planet Earth holds new wonders. (Just keep an eye out for friendly space-loving kittens; you never know who you might meet!)
  • Don't be afraid to ask for directions. People on Earth are always ready to offer advice and lend a helping hand. But please be careful of rogue paparazzi, sometimes you just gotta' move fast!

But before I sign off, let’s chat about what’s coming up next in my very exciting world of dance and space exploration!

*My next destination? The beautiful, artistic city of Amsterdam! πŸŽ‰ * I’m planning a special performance at the iconic Royal Concertgebouw, and of course, I’ll be visiting the Van Gogh Museum, immersing myself in all things bright, colorful, and swirling – just like my tutu world! The plan is to visit their newest exhibition - β€œArt & Dance” – and who knows, perhaps I will take on a choreographed rendition of Van Gogh’s swirling skies? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Oh, and on a more serious note, the planet Earth’s "International Tutu Day" is coming up this year, so if you’re a fashion fan on Earth or in the universe, let's make it the most beautiful one ever. I will be updating you on all the sparkly celebrations in my next blog post! Don't miss it!

*Until then, remember: *

Twirl your worries away and let your inner ballerina shine! βœ¨πŸ’–

*With all my love and twinkling tutu dust, *

Emma πŸ’–πŸ©°
