Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth Post #1729: A Cosmic Tutu Tour of Our Milky Way!

Hey darlings,

Welcome back to Pink Tutu World, your weekly dose of all things sparkly and pink, right here on Planet Earth! Today’s post is all about my astronomical adventure. Oh yes, you heard right – this week I took a little trip to space!

Now, before you all start sending your questions in via email about whether it’s really me in those spacesuit-themed photos – yes it’s really me, and yes, I made it. But I wouldn't dream of going to outer space in anything but a tutu. No, not even the fabulous Pink Tutu Rocket Club would let me off the launchpad without at least a little bit of tutu, so we're talking a space-age, glow-in-the-dark, Tutu-verse tutu – pink of course!

This post has been a long time coming. As you all know, my dreams are absolutely HUGE! I’ve always wanted to be an intergalactic ballerina and I mean… who hasn’t?

But let me tell you, getting a visa to travel to the outer solar system isn’t easy. I swear it was even tougher than getting into the Royal Ballet School back in my Derbyshire days! I needed permission to fly off planet earth, and they only granted me temporary access for the day, due to all my plans. So we were going to make the most of this day trip – and what better way to visit the planets than wearing a Pink Tutu World tutu with all the latest galaxy print fashions. After all, I'm not the only one who loves sparkly outfits. And frankly, even out in space, some extra bling never hurts!

How I funded the journey to outer space:

First off, I needed some funds for this adventure, which was actually no small feat! But the biggest challenge was finding a venue large enough to put on a balllet performance for the galaxy’s tourists! After a whirlwind tour of my hometown’s little local theater, (which has been wonderful to me, I love doing ballet performances here in the UK and I am very grateful!), we did what anyone with an ambition would do – we organised an outdoor ‘Tutu-tainment’ event right here on Planet Earth. And, I had a good idea for our audience... a few famous faces to get everyone to sign up. The best part? My little ballerina sisters, (well…they’re 5 years old and one is starting her ballet classes, and the other has finished!) were our prima ballerinas. Now that's the thing – the audience loved our little starlets, they were simply a dream, they're just amazing – it was heartwarming! So cute! I was SO proud of them!

My little sis, Eliza, (you may remember her, she did the ‘Twinkle, Twinkle’ show) is just about the cutest 5-year-old ballerina in the whole of Derbyshire. My older sis, Rosie, she loves to shop and spend money with me, we went to tons of amazing ballet shows – including, of course, the big Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet shows (as you’d expect from a Pink Tutu World gal!) We went shopping and Rosie loved all my Tutu-themed wardrobe, she's going to love the new line from Tutu World on planet earth… I am not going to say anything now. So back to Eliza… Eliza wore a specially made galaxy print, cosmic themed tutu - the matching headband, oh and sparkly cosmic leggings. I knew from the beginning it was just perfect and just right for all the space tourists in the crowd. She even had cosmic face paints on and everything! We actually made a whole show of this cosmic ballet and fashion launch – the new line that launched last year – and even some intergalactic-themed costumes (with pink accents of course)!

And then? You guessed it, we got the green light! I swear, that was one of the best days of my life. I mean, dancing for space tourists and funding my trip? Epic. And everyone was wearing their tutus. Oh yes, I am a bit obsessed.

What we did in the galaxy

But enough about all the ballet, let’s get to the cosmic stuff! So, it was my second space trip and to be honest, this was way more fun, it’s one of the best times I have had out in space – for sure! We headed to a new Milky Way galaxy and this time I got to travel around all the planets. I’m talking Mars, Jupiter… Even Saturn. Of course we started off with our first port of call - the most fun in the solar system, my personal favourite Mercury. I know right, all my best space friends say to do Saturn first - but, the hottest hottest planet is for me – this place really puts the ‘extra’ in extra terrestrial, (and of course there was a show we all enjoyed – with some real talent!). Now, it's the place for extraordinary people, you know… the ‘out-of-this-world’ set – all the space fashion designers! There is just so much to see – I know I talk about shopping in London and in New York… and, even some places out in Europe … it is nothing compared to this planet. And that's just one planet, in one Galaxy! Can you even believe this planet has a tutu and balllet boutique on it?! I can’t even start telling you about the style here... it’s definitely the place to be if you want to turn heads - that's for sure, but that is my top secret for you!

You've got to know the space planets as well, just like all the places you've been to. Next, it’s Saturn and that means the coolest space ring on this side of the galaxy, just think “Saturn’s Ring and its cosmic dance of light”. That’s a vibe. (That might even make a pretty good Pink Tutu World performance…) Oh, speaking of dance - that takes us to my favourite part - it's time to look for some other planets - like Venus. It’s no secret that the planet is the hottest in the Milky Way. And there was something else that got everyone so excited when I was on the planet last year and was here again for this visit! I can’t say too much as I don't want to give anything away… let’s just say we went shopping for the Pink Tutu World spaceship on our next trip ( and let's just say, we’re still thinking of all our favourite options – this spaceship will take the pinkest tutus into orbit)! That will just be so glam when we land, the most glam landing the planet will ever see… all pink tutus, all glam landing, what could possibly go wrong. (You may already be able to guess. If you haven’t already got the Pink Tutu World book and magazine from my latest online shops, be sure to check them out this weekend!). Anyway, let me just say it…Venus really knows how to make a galactic impression – that’s no joke. But I really, really think this is a hidden gem, with a hidden dance party that really can get your Tutu-tastic spirit pumping – it is definitely a favourite for sure.

My Top Five Tips for Tutu Travelers

  1. Pack your most cosmic tutu. As much as I love dressing in fabulous couture dresses – I wouldn’t be seen dead in one outside a very posh dance event – trust me. It is very important when we go on space adventures and if it's going to be in our own Pink Tutu Rocket Club’s private spaceship, (yes…it is getting built, by a real expert! And we got the ‘go ahead’, (my accountant just checked!), to give it to ourselves for our 2030 Christmas party, (of course we will do some incredible dance moves to show off our outfits to the space travelers…I don't want to spoil it!), we are definitely going to need the extra sparkle in all those black hole-themed tutus, which is probably essential.
  2. Space bling is essential – of course, a good tutu is a good start… it is definitely worth spending the extra on some cosmic gems and maybe an awesome ring… it’s no good going to Venus for just the outfits, right? You might need to have the space gems from the space shopping to set it all off.
  3. Keep an eye out for some other travelers who may also be into a bit of fashion! Trust me. That really helps with fashion tips – especially from Venus, where there are just so many great people and some even more talented ones who just love their tutus!
  4. It can get cold! Now I hate to tell you this. My secret fashion tip for space travel is... space has no temperature as you might think, which is important to remember – but in space travel – just remember you can really feel the chills if it’s the ‘wrong kind’ of hot… this one goes out to my fellow ‘fashion divas’ out there – take it from me. Wear layers. The other key thing – no one will want to admit to getting their fingers cold whilst looking glamorous. My other essential bit of advice is: keep the space suits. (In my view of the universe, even with a Tutu World version!). So a few space layers in the spaceship or your special Pink Tutu World rocket – always good. But the other space essential that nobody really says, but I think is quite important – always carry a scarf. No, you do not need to have a sparkly one… unless that is what you choose – (Pink Tutu World always looks fabulous!)… just a practical one will do for a warm cuddle… even though my spaceship may have amazing, magical and comfy seating with plush purple and pink leather – it’s nice for a quick cosy little wrap. I mean you could also wear it around your face, when you’re out of the spaceship – but if I'm being truly honest - I wouldn’t even consider going to Mercury in anything else… and Mercury’s definitely my place to visit! Oh, you have got to wear my galaxy shoes for this. So glamorous, it really can turn heads! They’ve got the cosmic silver on the top – which makes them really special. And they come with cosmic pink straps for that all important finish.
  5. Get ready for the space-age dance party of your life. Just know – wherever you are going in the galaxy – don’t be scared! It will be awesome – everyone in the solar system is welcoming to all our tutu loving people!

Oh… and as a postscript. There is something going on 2028-06-14… Well, it's on Planet Earth, not too far away – I may just have to fly there for the day and check it out! What is it? Why it is…The London Dance Theatre production of "Space Odyssey"!!! Yes… oh I am just SO excited to see it… the cast and crew are all fabulous and we are going to the shows! So it’s back to Earth and that reminds me I have a shopping spree! I really do love going to London when the shops are open at night and all the big fashion events! But don't worry… my spaceship can take us there fast… it can fly fast too… we are really excited about that one!

Stay fab and stay sparkling!

Love and tutus,

Emma.
