Hello, darlings! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where tutus twirl and dreams take flight! Itās your favourite pink-obsessed ballerina blogger, Emma, back with another entry from my ever-expanding Pink Tutu World!
This week, Iām leaving the starry expanse of the galaxy behind and bringing you right back to my earthly roots! Iām actually sitting in my little flat in Derbyshire, England, writing this very post. I love it here, itās such a calming, serene place with so much history - you wouldn't believe the beautiful manor houses and medieval castles we have. Makes you feel right at home!
Youāll have to wait just a little bit longer for my spacefaring adventures (trust me, they are legendary!). For now, I've been swept up in a whirlwind of ballet events back on Planet Earth - you just can't beat the energy of a live performance, and I'm absolutely buzzing!
Earthly Delights: The Dance Scene is Alive!
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending an absolutely glorious ballet show in London! You can't go wrong with the Royal Opera House - a truly historic building and just brimming with character. This particular performance was of "Swan Lake," one of my all-time favourite ballets. The way those swans danced, all grace and fluidity⦠It just filled me with pure joy. Oh, and the costumes! Stunning. And I just canāt help but smile whenever I see a white tutu shimmering on stage! It's just so magical.
Speaking of magical, the shopping in London never disappoints. I just couldn't resist a trip to Harrods. I managed to snag a divine pair of pink ballet shoes with intricate beading - absolutely divine! Theyāre a bit impractical for space travel, Iāll admit, but perfect for these more grounded adventures. I'll be pairing them with my new custom-made tutu with a shimmering aurora borealis design! Because a pink tutu looks divine with any shade of pink!
Speaking of tutus, it wouldn't be a blog post from me without a quick lesson in the history of these fabulous creations! It turns out tutus werenāt always these frilly, romantic things. Early tutus, called ātutu Ć la Francaiseā, were a lot more full, like a big puff ball! Itās crazy to think that our modern "tutu Ć la Hongroise" (which you might recognize as those shorter, fitted, tutu-type things) came about only a century or so ago. Ballet costumes, and indeed ballet itself, are in constant evolution, always reflecting changing fashion trends. It makes for an endlessly fascinating subject, donāt you think?
Spreading the Pink Tutu Love
Speaking of fashion, and as you know, I have to talk about fashion ā this whole Earthly escapade was inspired by a vision, my dearest blog followers. This August, a grand event is happening - a āPink Tutu Festivalā here in my home city of Derby! Itās going to be an absolute extravaganza: pink tutus, ballet performances, parades, dance classes, workshops, you name it! It's about celebrating the joyous spirit of ballet and bringing that whimsical joy into every corner of Derby. And naturally, it'll be completely pink. Of course!
I've already started designing my costume for the grand event! Think layers of pink tulle, sparkling sequins, maybe some silver feathers and a hint of glitter. A touch of elegance with a dash of space-age chic ā just for good measure. Because when it comes to tutus, weāre all about the "more is more" attitude!
Now, you know my motto, dear readers: Every corner of the Universe should be twirling in a pink tutu! I am determined to bring this vibrant, graceful world to as many people as possible - on Planet Earth and beyond. Thatās why Iāve already planned to incorporate this Pink Tutu Festival into my space travels! The universe needs a sprinkle of this joyful pink!
And as always, donāt be afraid to send me a message. I love hearing about your own dance adventures, and if you're inspired to spread the pink tutu love, share your creations with me! Let's make the universe a brighter, pinker, more twirly place, one tutu at a time.
See you next week, darling! Remember, twirl with confidence and always keep dreaming pink!
Love,
Emma
