Hello darlings! It's Emma, your intergalactic tutu-wearing guide to the cosmos! As you know, Wednesdays are dedicated to my planet Earth adventures and my ever-expanding Pink Tutu World website! I know some of you think I'm utterly bonkers, whizzing off to strange galaxies in a pink-tutu adorned spacesuit, but let me tell you, life's too short to be anything but bonkers! Especially when you can share the joys of a well-constructed tutu with every cosmic creature in the universe!
Now, grab a glass of elderflower cordial (it’s so refreshing!) and put on your finest tulle-embellished outfit because today's blog post is all about my recent journey back to Earth, and boy, did I have a ball!
From Nebulae to Nightlife: Back on Planet Earth! You guys, earthquakes have been shaking things up in Derbyshire recently! The house actually creaked, like a giant bon bon is about to pop, it was truly terrifying!
Thankfully, a couple of days ago, I teleported back to good ol’ England, and boy am I feeling the vibes. Let’s be honest, Derbyshire has the cutest cottages. Imagine all the vintage ballet memorabilia I found hiding in dusty antique shops! My current obsession? A miniature ballerina in a powder-blue silk tutu! She was nestled on a velvet cushion, a true testament to the elegant art of ballet that's truly timeless.
Now, as many of you know, I'm all about showcasing how ballet transcends boundaries – it's not just pirouettes and port de bras on stage. That’s why I hit up a fantastic event the other day – "Dancing Through the Decades", held at the National Ballet in the city centre, ooh-la-la! A spectacular mix of vintage and modern styles. They even did a brilliant reconstruction of some old ballet dances! Honestly, darling, it brought tears to my eyes, and that choreography?! Let's just say it reminded me of how truly exquisite this art form is.
You'll have to take my word for it – I'm trying my absolute best to refrain from posting any embarrassing photos from the event! 🤭. Trust me, you wouldn’t believe my crazy dance moves.
Ballet Street - From Pink Tutus to Funky FashionI’ve found some incredible places to get the most glamorous ballets for a great price, in the urban and the rustic towns on Planet Earth. From sleek balletwear stores that sell dazzling diamond encrusted tutus and shimmering pink sequins that I couldn't resist, to the quaint, charming little boutique with its vintage vibes and breathtaking hand-painted ballerinas. My shopping spree has been phenomenal, and let me tell you, it's always the right time to invest in some fabulous, comfy tutus.
Oh, darling! Let’s talk *street style! The best bit about this trip? Seeing all the fabulous ladies embracing the ballerina vibe. Even some brave gents have incorporated tutu styles in their wardrobes (very impressive!). And that’s exactly the message I want to send across: ballet transcends all forms, it elevates your soul. It is a statement of grace and beauty for every person, in every galaxy!
And let me tell you, London’s fashion scene has been totally hypnotizing! From elegant vintage tutus spotted at Portobello Road, to designer fashion with a whimsical nod to ballerinas on the runway at London Fashion Week.
This is exactly why I plan on bringing ballet back into focus with a few events. Think of spectacular fashion shows, inspiring classes, and perhaps even ballets inspired by Planet Earth.
Stay tuned!
